Absolutely love Ambala sweets!

The quality is always amazing — fresh, flavourful, and made with so much care. Every piece tastes authentic and takes me straight back to traditional Desi mithai. The Ambala Sweets selection is great too… from barfi to ladoo, everything is consistent and delicious. Packaging is clean, beautiful, and perfect for gifting as well.

Highly recommended — truly one of the best sweet shops! 🍬✨

I have account already and placed order on it and when I went to pay it wouldn’t let me pay caused a lot of time to be wasted. So then I had to make an order as a guest and it allowed me to pay but then didn’t receive my order on time. I had to call customer services and give the order number so it could be investigated. I had to mention again what date I was looking at for it to be delivered.
Just the website caused an issue as I couldn’t pay. Anyway it was sent out and we recieved it.

Ambala no longer Ambala

Ambala seems to not be making mithai to the original recipe. Used to be the best in the world but the mithai post Cake Box takeover is not the same - much much worse. Massive shame.

Out of date packed products

Out of date packed products , had to travel all the way back to branch next day to exchange the items. Was embarrassed as had given them as part of Ramadan gifts! Mithai box was very dry and did no look fresh. Last order there were only 3 pieces in boxes of 4 that I had paid for . So very disappointed again . Won’t be ordering from Ambala again .

Ambala don't want to sell you anything, that's why they make the website as difficult as possible to access.

My family have been coming to the shop for over 60 years. But a few years back, they began selling online, which was ideal for me since I moved away from London, and I could get them delivered in Surrey.

Sadly though, their website is a nightmare to get into! Despite typing in the correct email address and the password I always use on the site, I got locked out, only then noticing that further down the page, it asks for a screen capture input, and it is one of the most difficult-to-read screen captures I have ever come across! I asked to reload the capture a couple of times, and I still couldn't make it out! There is no option for listening to the letters and numbers either, so it's not good for those with impaired eyesight!

Except why even HAVE a screen capture puzzle at all if you are entering your email/name and password?

I then asked it to reset my password, and it said it would send it to my email address. Well, here I am, half an hour later, and still no sign of it in my inbox or spam folder.

I give up!!! Do these people actually not WANT me to buy their food on their site? Why make accessing the site so difficult?

Guess it is time for me to break with the 60-year tradition, and finally find another decent indian sweet shop to travel to, nearer to home.

I expected better!

The order was not ready when we went to pick it up at the pre-chosen time. The Norbury outlet had no clue about my order, and they kept asking me for details instead of checking in their system. Also, i had chosen a specific packaging for the baby girl celebration - the branch team had no clue about my chosen preferences, and they didn’t have that box with them either. We had to take a simple box.

The experience is regrettably a negative on the bases of quality. As a household who measures quality over quantity , it has to stressed my recent visit on Ambala Coventry road Birmingham outlet was a total let down and I won't be handing out my hard earned cash to AMBALA again. The much loved Baloshahi and Habshi halva were lacking taste and fragrance.
For many years the sweets were an a treat and enjoyed by all , I think the recent takeover is no match with previous ownership. What a disappointment.
So AMBALA get your act together if you want to make progress, remember the customer is always right.

Score maybe 1 star....
