This type of stay requires additional verification, which is communicated during the booking process. However, the short-term booking remained active, as it does not require the same documentation. Since this booking was not canceled before arrival, it was processed as a no-show in accordance with the booking conditions, and the corresponding charge was applied. We understand that this distinction may not have been entirely clear at the time, and we sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding this may have caused.

Too Noisy and Unfair Deposit Claim

The location is very strategic, right in the heart of Barcelona, with easy access to everything. The house is nicely decorated, but it’s an old building with no soundproofing at all. Street conversations and city traffic noise are extremely loud that you can clearly hear everything from my bedroom, making it hard to rest and sleep at night.

I also noticed many previous reviews mentioning deposit issues, and unfortunately it happened to me too. They claimed I left the bathroom flooded, causing leakage to the unit below, which is absolutely not true. I left the house in good condition. I asked for proof but none was provided.

Luckily, I had insurance that covered this type of situation, and I was able to recover all my money. Overall, good location but very disappointing experience.

AVOID SCAM!

AVOID SCAM!

No confirmation 1 month AFTER PRE PAYMENT and less than 2 weeks before check in. COMPLETELY SCAM. despite completing the booking and submitting all documents weeks ago. I was repeatedly told I’d get a response “tomorrow” or “by Monday” — none of which ever happened. even though they themselves stated they would contact YOU directly to confirm only 5 days after pre payment gets taken from your account.

I called daily, emailed multiple times, even tried WhatsApp. Zero follow-up. A simple date change requested well within their own deadline was ignored because they never confirmed the booking in the first place.

On my last call, I was promised a callback by a specific time. No one called. On another occasion, they hung up saying “we’ll contact you soon.” They didn’t.

Completely unprofessional, clearly no intention to confirm bookings at all. Do not recommend.

No working heating in the winter

I am currently in one of the apartments. Renting for three days.No door on the toilet! No working heating in January. We called the emergency number multiple times. The lady there is fooling us, asking us to tell the number of the room and apartment multiple timesand other questions that will not ave the problem, not to mention how many times she asked us to spell our names and SHE DIDNT UNDERSTAND! Haven't had worse experience with rent apartment in a long time!

Not the best, not the worst.

The apartment we stayed in at Les Corts had several minor and a couple of major problems.
a) Sink and showers were blocked
b) Bathroom doors would not close
c) Bedding was stained
d) Heating would not work
e) Pedals for the dustbins were broken - we had to open with hand (yukkkk)

They basically only repaired items a and d on the last day of our stay so it was quite useless.

Instead of apologising, they asked me if they should arrange extra cleaning (at my cost) for the stained bedding!!!!!

The last day, there was a burning electric wire smell from the main switchboard - I called their emergency helpline and it took 10 minutes to connect to someone who said they would call back and never did!!!!

They provided 20 ml of dishwashing liquid, 2 tea bags, 2 coffee sachets, 2 tiny sachets (the ones from mcdonalds sizes) of salt and pepper and 1 tablespoon of oil for a 8 person capacity 3 bedroom apartment which makes no sense whatsoever.

They didn't even provide enough bin bags even though they wanted us to take out the trash when we left.

It was quite a disappointment for the high amounts of money they charge.

Unsatisfied

Unsatisfied, do not recommend to work/complete internship with them at all. Very bad experience. Suposed to enter for my university in the marketing department but they decided once I started I have to do customer service. With no superior helping me around, there were only 2 people from another department shouting/not guiding me all the time. I felt personally atacked by Mrs. Salou and sir Alvaro. Very rude to the staff and even ruder to customers.
Once again I do not recommend for work or stay.

Carrer Calàbría - 4120

AB Barcelona manage many apartments in the building at Carrer Calàbria 65 – this review is specifically for apartment 4120. Unfortunately, we felt there was very little value for money staying here. Furthermore, I suspect the reviews on their website to be fabricated - Since check out, I have been asked to complete a survey but there is nowhere for me to add my review of the apartment on AB’s own website.

From the moment we arrived, there was a continuous and unpleasant sewage smell coming from the ground floor of the complex, which was hard to ignore. The apartment itself was also quite noisy at night (both from inside and outside), which made it difficult for our family – especially the children – to get a good night’s sleep.

The finishes in the apartment were disappointing. The shower grouting was dirty and there was noticeable limescale buildup. The windows were thin and rattly, the automated lounge shutter didn’t work, and the air conditioning was very loud. The tap’s coating was peeling off, as was the mirror’s, giving the whole place a cheap, poorly maintained feel.

There were no instructions provided for the oven or hob, which made it inconvenient to use the kitchen.

The only real positive was that the bed and pillows were comfortable – but beyond that, the overall experience was well below expectations.

The apartment has great location

The apartment has great location. It was very clean but the smell from toilet was sometimes unbearable. Beds were good size and despite hard mattresses they were super comfortable. Overall value for money was amazing.

Easy communication

Warning : AB Apartment Barcelona – Scam tactics, fake damage, and illegal handling of tenant deposits

Our experience with AB Apartment Barcelona was nothing short of a scam. The company uses fake damage claims, manipulated photos, and illegally withholds tenant deposits by ignoring both Catalan law and their own contractual obligations.

After our stay, AB Apartment Barcelona refused to return our deposit, falsely claiming we had damaged the extractor hood. To support this, they sent us:

One photo of the hood installed in the apartment and a close-up of a completely different, broken hood

The fraud is obvious: the electrical outlet next to the hood is a different color and location, clearly proving the damaged appliance was not even in the apartment. It’s manufactured evidence.

Despite this, they demanded €500 for a hood that costs €120 new, from Teka – the cheapest brand on the market. This is a blatant attempt to extort money from tenants after check-out.

It gets worse: they never registered our deposit with INCASOL, as required by Catalan law. This left us without any institutional protection. We’ve filed a complaint with INCASOL, which is currently under review.

Even more disturbing, their own contract states the following (Clause OCTAVA - Fianza):

“El importe de la fianza será devuelta en el plazo de 31 días desde la finalización del contrato, una vez verificado el estado del inmueble.”

AB Apartment Barcelona never returned this amount, and failed to meet even this basic commitment. Worse, the contract makes no mention of the legally mandatory deposit registration with INCASOL, which raises serious concerns about their compliance with housing regulations in Catalonia.

Based on other reviews, this is clearly not an isolated incident. There is a pattern of abuse:

-Fake and exaggerated damage claims
-Deposits never registered with the authorities
-Pressure and intimidation to force tenants to pay

Advice for future tenants:
-Demand written proof that your deposit is registered with INCASOL
-Document the apartment in detail at check-in and check-out
-Never accept vague or undocumented agreements

Be ready to take legal action

Regarding the deposit registration with INCASÒL, we would like to clarify that this registration requires the contract holder to have a valid Spanish DNI or NIE. Since this requirement was not met in your specific case, the corresponding legal alternative for temporary contracts with foreign residents was applied, in accordance with the current regulations. Finally, we regret any misunderstanding that may have occurred. Our legal team is already reviewing your claim with the utmost seriousness. Ended up on the street for hours…

Ended up on the street for hours because my key didn't work. Don't stay here. In a new city and having to sit on the street hoping I was let inside with no response is the most stressed I've ever felt while travelling.
