I have tried to set up an appointment to view the property but all I get is an email asking for all my information and a payment to secure the property as there are already 28 people interested.
This has got scam written all over it.
It’s a real shame because I loved the place

I tried to see some apartments but nobody really gets back to you except a weird email saying to secure the apartment give us all your info and picture of ID!!!
Yea right I am going to give you all my detail not knowing if your even legit or if the apartment is real or to my liking
Smells like a scam and probably best to stay away from them

You know the concept of what they’re trying to accomplish is fine but the problem is the properties never respond. You email me or text and they say they will respond within 24 hours. They’ll text you back with regurgitated marketing material copied from their website.! I’ve got several properties that don’t even respond let alone I’m getting so frustrated. There’s one property right now that I’ve been trying for four weeks to get a response from. they seem to just regurgitated marketing material copied from their own website that you’ve already looked at a basic copy of the website sent to me over email but no answers from the individual or stop by. It’s like no I want to know what I asked, which is I want total move-in cost so I can walk down look at it, and rent it if I do not want more marketing material regurgitated from their own websites back at me this is ridiculous so this app doesn’t accomplish what it tries to do because the properties don’t respond to the leases.!!

This company continues to send me unsolicited emails even though I continue to spam them. I don't live in U.S. and it's not a country I would ever want to visit again.

They have replied to the above telling me to contact their support team from the email address that I originally used to subscribe to them so they can manually unsubscribe me. As I have never subscribed to them that is not possible.

Has a lot of options, but I swear they don’t even list what you’re filtering for. For example every time I filter for a 2bed/2bath every apartment they recommend is only a 2 bed 1 bath and it’s always over my filtered budget. Very frustrating

Searched for housing for a studio or 1 bdrm under $1500 up to 60 minutes of driving distance. I would go further out but it did not give me that option. Changed my preferences and apartment list resubmitted the same apt complex that I did not like twice. I am better off searching on my own.

The place at castle hills has helped me out so much! Including Mrs. Stephanie. I have hardly ever had to go to the front office for any complaints because before anything even happens, they already got it covered 👍🏾 a great place to feel cozy :)

Requires you to make an account in order to view apartment listings, but doesn’t inform you of this requirement until you have already completed a time consuming survey. Total scumbag behavior, would never use their service on principle.

To your reply: you did not in fact ask for my information up front, you waited until I had already completed a time consuming survey, as I noted in my review. Don’t lie about the way your service works.

This is the single worst apartment hunt site I have ever had the displeasure of using. You set a max price of $1600/month? F*** you, here's 50 results for $2k. Check some amenities? Great, now you went from 700 results to 750 for some god damn reason. If an apartment doesn't fit some specific criteria that you set, they'll still show it to you and there's no way to turn that off.
Single most useless piece of sh!t website ever. Use Apartments.com or Zillow or RentCafe or something.

I did take a second look at The Alexander then read reviews on Yelp – an unheard of 17 one stars out of 36. Clearly, a narrow escape from a nightmarish life of cockroaches – mold - unruly kids – double the number of residents allowed in apartments – broken security gates – landlord jacks up fees w/ no recourse – and many more horrors.
Needless to say, apartment list.com has lost all credibility. Moreover, I already had found and discarded all of the apartments except one that apartmentlist.com recommended. What a sham. Please remove my email address from your records.
Following is my edit after apartmentlist.com replied to my review. Note that I appreciate apartmentlist.com's courteous reply to my review including their explanation and considerate offer to delete my account. Perhaps my review will encourage enhanced vetting of entities upon which apartmentlist.com relies for its recommendations.

Not sure why everything is so goddamn expensive exclusively on this website. Don't even bother looking for housing here if you are looking for a better deal, every single listing on here is atleast a thousand dollars more than any comparable listings I've seen on other services in the same area. Seems like they are raising the price that the landlord gave them to collect a finders fee, completely disingenuous

Asks way too many personal questions then gives no results unless you verify personal information. This site is nothing more than a data mining scam. Stay away.

Booked an apartment in manila on the 2 Feb for 4 days through booking com paid 414 euro u was supposed to be a 2 bedroom apartment and two bathrooms all it was one Room owner refused to meet me there was also a pet fee thrown in of 1500 peso don't know what that was all about left next morning went somewhere else this was a total scam was offered something next morning which I refused 185 euros has been paid in to my account since 5 j still out of pocket 250 euro the apartment has since been of website n my problem is with booking com have had no satisfaction have written to them recently as it almost impossible to contact them have it designed that way ps don't book apartment with booking com if anything goes wrong they won't refund

Complete scam --- runs personal questions and instead of showing available apartments, asks for more personal data. It's almost impossible to screw up looking for apartments, but this group found a way to demand data, more data and then add no value while wasting my time.

Lots of great properties, but you will be massively spammed. Use other sites.

I moved to a new city and didn't know where to look for an apartment. This site asked me questions about my preferences and matched with a better suited places. I wish they had more listings to match my needs with.

If your PMs read this, your onboarding flow was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I answered 15+ questions about what I was looking for, then was forced to give a fake phone number, then had to click through a demo how to use your product that I couldn't skip. I still haven't gotten any value from clicking on your ad and am going elsewhere. There are 20 other competitive products I could use - try providing users some value by showing apartments instead of showing off every feature you've shipped in the last year

Unlike other sites, it doesn't seem to discount renters seeking the cheapest of places, and genuinely helps all income ranges for free, from a renter's perspective. The ONLY thing I think it could possibly do better is to not let the Avail platform (company) to so easily solicit apartmentlist users, because Avail's security of the data it asks for before a property's "manager" will even interact with a potential renter is dubious. If apartmentlist were smart, it would offer the same service as Avail while guaranteeing users that their personal info be kept in a sort of "escrow" from property "managers" until and unless said managers and their postings are vetted as legitimate AND create a "rentability" scale for potential renters that property managers can trust so that renters' personal informations do not HAVE to be disclosed to anyone but the secure site that apartmentlist guarantees renters to maintain.

This site just wants your information to sell to apartment companies. I signed up (because I had to after their questionnaire to see my results) and then I was suddenly bombarded with emails and texts from apartment companies that I never reached out to.

I’m still waiting answer from an apartment they doing a back ground check. Thanks for you guys help!
