The minimum order value before free shipping isn't too bad.
They have some stock locally, but I find that most of what I want is a week away.

While the vast range of products can sometimes be overwhelming, the products are well priced, of a good quality, and are delivered quickly.

There was a little problem with last delivery being split and deliver over many days.

Most of the parts that I look for is available.
Anytime Element 14 is recommendable to anyone.

My order was stuck for two weeks because I chose to have all my items delivered in a single order, but one part in the hundreds I ordered was listed as out of stock (despite being listed as in stock when I ordered it).

When I contacted Customer Service they were incredibly helpful in finding a replacement part so that the full order could be released and finally delivered. The final part was couriered to me as it didn't make it into the main shipment.

All up I was generally pleased with the experience, but I'll definitely be keeping closer tabs on my next order to ensure it doesn't get stuck again.

I often find that what I want to buy is in stock, but in stock globally, which is nearly the same as not in stock. It is very rare to have a list of say a dozen items where all (or even any!) items are in stock LOCALLY. It would help a lot if the search options included "In Stock, locally".

The web site is great for some things but is woeful where it matters. All too often we miss finding the right part because we are not entering quite the right description and so miss out on stocked items. An example of this would be shunt resistors: A search on "shunt resistors" reveals a limited range of what you have happened to also have described this way, if you are fortunate enough to also search for "current sense resistors" (exact same function as shunt resistors BTW) you get a whole new/different set of parts offered still with the same basic function. This happens way to frequently with many parts due to the same limitation in the terms and makes the site useless for finding what you actually stock when using generic search descriptions as opposed to an exact part number. This is where the paper catalog shines, pity you chose to drop it!

Element14 is my local supplier of choice, generally everything that I need is available quickly. However I have had a few issues with the couriers, particularly the smaller ones and with orders where the shipping was split into several deliveries. Had to wait several weeks for what should have been next day or few day delivery. The couriers seemed to misplace or incorrectly deliver items. But this is probably rare.

I find the on-line ordering system to be the most effiecient way to order and check on stock availability. In my experience, Element14 also responds to price matching with their competitors

Items arrive quickly but web site doesn't indicate clearly where items are coming from. Sometimes I get caught out expecting next day delivery, which is the norm.

It is invaluable to be able to get small quantities of high tech components very quickly. Even the OS shipping delay is OK, but it would be nice to see a broader range of components held locally.
