I travelled from the Netherlands to Augenlaserzentrum Düsseldorf for a SMILE Pro procedure with Dr. Ziad Muqbel, and I couldn't be happier with my decision afterwards.
From the first consultation, I appreciated the honest advice. The team carefully examined my eyes, explained all available options, and recommended the treatment that best suited my eyes without any sales pressure. The examinations were great, the clinic was spotless, and everyone was friendly and professional.
The surgery itself was far easier than I had imagined. Looking back, I would almost say it's something you could have done while taking a break from a day of shopping in Düsseldorf. That may sound surprising, but that's genuinely how minimally invasive it felt to me. The anticipation was much worse than the procedure itself. The fear of the unknown in my case. And now I know that the smile pro treatment is not invasive at all, so great.
During the treatment, Dr. Muqbel keeps guiding you through every step. You simply follow his instructions while he carefully monitors the entire procedure. At the same time, he keeps talking to you in a calm and reassuring way, which made me feel completely at ease throughout.
One week after surgery, my vision is already excellent. My eyes are still slightly dry, which is completely normal at this stage, and I am following the prescribed eye drop regimen of dr. Muqbel. Knowing that vision continues to stabilise over the coming weeks, I am already extremely impressed and happy with the result.
If you've been thinking about laser eye surgery for years but keep postponing it because of uncertainty or fear, my advice is simple: do it. For me, it has been one of the best decisions of my life.
