An update on my original post re travel…

An update on my original post re travel on the 10th May. They have outright lied to me on three occasions re not having business class seats that we paid for only to find twelve on the plane and also that they could not move us to them as they had already activated our partial refund. They hadn’t! Still no sign of our refund to our credit card 5 weeks after our flight. They’ve emailed this week after I messaged their CEO on LinkedIn and advised me it takes up to 30 days to process. Call me dumb but 5 weeks =0.0959 years 35 days. They truly are the most untruthful company with a CEO who is not fit for purpose. Avoid at all costs this airline, they should be reviewed by the CAA with a good, hard focus on their shocking customer service department.

Ok travel with a cheap airlines

Traveled with them from Kuala Lumpur to Denpasar and back. Had about half an hour delay in flight from KL, but otherwise hassle-free travel with cheap airlines. Tips: Buy tickets directly on their web-side, they have many options for luggage weight

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Batik Air.

My confirmed flight from Seoul to Bali via Kuala Lumpur on 18 July was cancelled by the airline, and I was only informed that I could travel a full day later — on 19 July — or take a refund. There were no same-day alternatives offered, and no effort made to reroute me.

I was recovering from surgery and clearly explained the physical and emotional impact of this disruption, along with additional expenses for hotel and transport. Despite that, Batik Air:
• Refused to assist beyond basic rebooking
• Offered no compensation or goodwill
• Repeatedly cited policy with zero flexibility or empathy

I have filed a formal complaint with MAVCOM and will be pursuing a compensation claim. If you’re considering Batik Air, please be aware: when things go wrong, their support is limited, and you’re left with little help or accountability.

Scammed with payments! Tokyo to kuala lumpur

I flew from tokyo to kuala lumpur. Their website is ( i think purposely ) made buggy so when you purchase luggage confirmation website hangs. I paid with my credit card and after it returned to batik air website payment page. I tried again and then it worked. I end up paying 440 rm for nothing and customer service conveniently deny to refund this. Luggage is not mentioned anywhere in their website. They never send notifications or confirmed the payment. It's very expensive to buy luggage too even if you buy this well before the flight date. This is purposely done scam, certainly. They must make a lot of revenue from such deception. Be aware. Do not fly with them. Price will be double to what you expect. Planes are ok yet quite worn down. Stewards are fine, they are doing their best.

Absolutely shocking airline

Absolutely shocking airline. My partner and I chose to fly with Batik from Perth to KL, then Penang to KL and KL to Perth, with the final flight number being OD193. Our flight home from Kuala Lumpur was scheduled to depart for Denpasar at 1420 and just ONE HOUR before departure we received an email stating that our flight had been delayed until 1520. This is not the first, nor the second, nor the third time this pathetic excuse for an airline has changed our flight time due to “Operational Requirements”. Maybe take a moment to ACTUALLY EXPLAIN WHAT THAT MEANS. Most of the staff we have dealt with have been nothing short of useless, and always decide to give you attitude. Not sure why you’d have such a huge ego working for a shitty budget airline. We only chose Batik because they were cheap. Never, ever again. There is no way to contact them, despite them offering “WhatsApp chat”, and the service recovery options were not valid by the time the email was received. Appalling service and I hope this airline goes broke. Don’t bother wasting your time with this lot. Save and pay a bit more so you can fly with a better airline who actually care about their customers.

Avoid this airline at all cost!

NEVER ever take this stupid airline, no matter how affordable the air fare is!
I purchased air ticket at 4pm, bound to Kota Kinabalu at 7pm because I received news that my father has just passed away. I bought this because it is the earliest flight I can catch to Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur. And I was already inside boarding area when they decided to delayed it to 2115hrs!! If I want to travel that late, I could have choose MAS or AA! I talked to their counter staff, their staff are the worst! Show stupid annoying face! Batik Air, with this kind of service and staff, you will be doomed!

Hand luggage removed at boarding gate and subsequently not to be seen again!

It has been almost a month since my return from Kuala Lumpur to Perth on Batik Air flight OD155. My hand luggage was removed from my possession upon boarding at the boarding gate by one of the ground staff saying that we, my husband and I were only allowed 3 pieces of items to bring up to the plane when I understand that Batik Air hand luggage policy stipulates every passenger is allowed a hand luggage plus either a handbag or backpack as long as both items do not exceed the 7kg limit. She insisted that my hand luggage has to go with the cargo. I indicated to her that both my hand luggages were within the 7kg limit and they had already gone through security scanning. My handbag just had my travel documents and purse while my husband's backpack had two jackets which we will be using on the plane. I even took out the jackets to let her have a look. She was rude and was adamant that my hand luggage which was not locked or tagged has to go with the cargo. I asked how am I going to collect the luggage on arrival into Perth, she said same as per your check-in luggage.
Just as I had expected, the hand luggage never came with the check-in luggage. As of to-date after numerous emails communication with the Customer Service and the Batik Air Baggage Queries departments my hand luggage is still no where to be seen and there was no response whatsoever as to who is responsible for this incident and if there will be any compensation for my lost luggage and the items in it.

Scam Airways Express

Scam Airways Express! Terrible airline. Bought business tickets and they wouldn’t refund even though they lack a refund policy. They said my travel agency needed to put in the request and when we did they denied it. When I spoke to them again they told me once again to put in the request with my travel agency. They were adamant as if I was talking to a robot. This is how they treat business class folks imagine how they treat the rest. Absolute scam all around just like everything else in Indonesia.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Customer support deserves 0 star. Waited for 10 minutes on calls, ring tune goes forever no one picks call.
My reservation automatically cancelled and rescheduled itself. That’s heck, i had made reservation as per my plan, they spoiled my plan Now they are not picking my call.

Absolutely terrible experience – lost my shoe and ignored my complaints

I flew with Batik Air and they somehow managed to lose one of my shoes from my checked baggage – yes, one. As bizarre and frustrating as that is, what’s even worse is their nonexistent customer service. I’ve written to them twice and never received any reply. Not even an acknowledgment.

This level of disrespect and negligence is unacceptable for any airline. Avoid Batik Air if you value your belongings – and expect zero help if something goes wrong.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Really, i just met the worst company ever. Flight delayed twice in the same day. More than 9 hours delay for 4 h trip. They canceled the first flight because the flight was not half full and rebook next flight. Illegal schemes to optimise profit. And even second flight was delayed because the plane was busy flying else where. DO NO FLY WITH THEM, PAY EXTRA MONEY TO FLY WITH PEACE OF MIND.

The greed of this airline is beyond…

The greed of this airline is beyond imagination. They weighed even my smallest backpack and charged me an extra $50 for just a tiny amount of excess weight. It’s ridiculous. I strongly recommend choosing AirAsia or any other airline over Batik Air. Avoid this airline if you don’t want to be nickel-and-dimed for every little thing.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is a scam of an airline and they should be ashamed of themselves.

When booking my ticket it was unclear that there is no checked baggage allowance included. When we got to KUL and discovered this, we went to the counter for assistance and to purchase the baggage fee.

I was shocked to be told they charge 48MYR per kilogram. On my 19kg bag this was going to cost 912MYR!!! That's over $215 USD — my original ticket only cost 139MYR ($33USD).

The person at the desk was extremely unhelpful and was unapologetic about the clearly scam priced fees.
The joke is on them though. I ended up booking another seat on the exact same flight (this time paying extra to get the checked baggage allowance), for a total price of 216MYR ($52USD).

There is no justification for ripping customers off like this when I can purchase a whole new ticket with the baggage for less than 1/4 of just the fee they wanted to charge me.

I know they are the only airline available on some routes, but if you can avoid them at all, do. Don't support this scam of a business.

The worst airline I have ever travelled with
They really need to focus on training their staff their aircraft’s are also faulty, was an electric fault flying from Kuala Lumpur to Perth and we were delayed which no one apologised for
I agreed to pay the excessive amount for my luggage the way I was treated in Perth airport was disgusting the lady on the desk was from India and when I say she acted in such a disgusting Maner she with held her name, which is why I have named her ethnicity she threw my boarding pass at me and didn’t say please or thank you to me during anytime
She was a disgusting human and so unprofessional
