Don't do it they are retaliating…
Don't do it they are retaliating against me for changing coverage. Sent a bill to wrong address and are charging me for for a medication that was filled wen their app said I was covered. Trash horrible, I hope people get fed up with these large corporations scamming us out of $
Zero stars
If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. They have screwed up my account more ways than I can say, even though I’ve paid on time since the start. After only two months they raised the premium. Every call was met with, I can’t help you with that. You need to call…” If you can possibly avoid this company, do it. They are the worst.
Refuses to cover my prescriptions
For December, BCBS refused to cover any of my medications when they've previously covered before. I've contacted them multiple times just to be bounced around from department to department. No one is willing to help and my prescriptions still aren't covered. Some generics are cheap, yes, but the point is that I hit my OOP so BCBS should be paying for all covered medications. Some of my medications aren't cheap either.
I'm told that I should've called the benefits department if I contact the pharmacy department. If I contact the benefits department, I'm told they don't handle pharmacy claims and should've called the pharmacy department. Same thing. Repeat 5 times, if not more. I would've saved money by not paying for my monthly premium.
The worst company I ever dealt with in…
The worst company I ever dealt with in my whole entire life. They absolutely have taken my money for two months payment and they won’t even give me a card. I can’t get my prescriptions I called them. They lied to me they hang up on me. I’ve spent months trying to figure out what’s going on And I still know anything
Worst customer service
My mom got her healthcare plan through her employer with BCBS. She never asked for help before with additional services until recently. When she asked for help with her transportation to dr appointment, BCBS kept giving her a run around nothing got done. BCBS can do the talk all day long with its advocates, 27/4 medical helpline, and all that craps, but when the customer needs it the most, BCBS is the garbage. I dont write negative feedback that often but BCBS is nothing but a loudmouth.
BCBS has no problem taking your monthly…
BCBS has no problem taking your monthly payment but the company will not resolve my prescription issue and provide coverage on a refill for my insulin needles. Have went all the way to CEO and Kim Keck seems like she could care less. Someone called me a week ago when issue arose but all I got was they were working on resolution. Explained I had one week of insulin needles left and then I could not take my prescription and here we are a week later and my diabetes insulin will be without needles in 2 days and only because I am only taking it one time per day to conserve needles. The fact is I went on insulin a few months back and received a prescription for 30 day I insulin and a box of needles. Then another 30 day insulin supply and no needles as I had some left. Then got 90 day supply insulin and no needles as still had some left. A bit over a week ago I called pharmacy as needle bix had one refill. Went to pick up and told this time they were not covered by insurance. After calling BCBS was told that you have to pick up at same time as insulin for them ti be covered. Really?? My doctor didn’t know that and I cannot find it in writing g anywhere. Where does that make sense? In my case along the way doctor changed insulin dose from 1X to 2X. So I had ti start using more needles. Just do the math. I truly need these needles to take my insulin with. Ms Kim Keck could care less. Who else out there has these issues? Time to take action. Reading reviews it seems a lot of sites people are having same type of issue. Maybe the board and shareholder should look into the CEO running of the business. Taking a consumer money but not giving them what is owed I believe is illegal. I asked and. Keck to step up and respond to me but been ignored. Sure she is sleeping at 1:30 am while I am writing this as I cannot sleep due to this unresolved issue
Do NOT sign with Blue Cross !!
They will call you to set up a plan, premium looks good.
But then they will have you called by an assessor, and even if you are honest and fair, they will find a way to either exclude something from your package, or bump your premium up.
In my case they looked at a medication. Then they did not contact the doctor that prescribed it, which is easy enough to do, but went ahead and excluded all mental anxiety and depression medication in the future, because they make you out to be a liar and somehow say the medication you are taking falls in that catagory.
It is clearly prescribed, and taken, for different reasons.
In a time where mental illness has become the worlds biggest problem!
Do not sign with Blue cross.
They are untrustworthy and make you out to be a liar.
BCBS of Texas is Terrible
BCBS of Texas. Had two different policies with them, had bad experiences both times. First time, the policy cost a fortune and the only accepted providers were at a specific clinic that was always booked for 2 month. Second time, they don't actually honor the copay in their documentation, or maybe they don't understand what copay means. Their definition of an ER visit according BCBS is getting a wrist band which has a copay of $600-$750 (I couldn't get a straight answer although my documents says $600). Everything after that, including talking to a doctor, they don't cover at all.
I have had to call 8 different people…
I have had to call 8 different people just to set up an urgent doctor's appointment. I signed up for a Blue Cross plan, but it turned out it was an Amita / Ascension plan in disguise. My experience with them has been awful. All of the reviews on their websites are terrible. On top of all of that, they forgot to activate my plan until halfway through the month of January! I would try something else. Good luck trying to reach them by phone. They will give you a phone number, but no one will answer.
Blue Cross Blue Shield has really gone…
Blue Cross Blue Shield has really gone downhill, at least from when I previously had it (in 2009). I thought this was supposed to be a widely accepted, well protected insurance - wrong. They deny claims they shouldn't, fight your providers on payment (I've had some of my Dr's offices tell me this). There is even a therapist in the community who states on their website they will not accept BCBS anymore as they have issues securing payment. Currently I'm fighting with them over a claim they don't want to pay, for an IN NETWORK provider (physical therapy, referred by my PCP). Honestly, they're a nightmare and a joke.
Understanding BCBS health insurance
BCBS is a well-known and respected health insurance provider with a long history of serving customers. If you are considering purchasing a health insurance policy from BCBS, it is important to carefully review the terms and conditions of the policy to ensure that it meets your needs and budget. You may also want to consider consulting with a licensed insurance agent or broker who can help you compare different health insurance plans and choose the one that is best for you.

Harvard surgen and a orthopedic surgeon denied treatment from Anthem blue cross
i have been having back problems for about 5 yrs now. I went to a orthopedic surgeon who did a MRI on my back. I was told i need a triple layer fusion on my lumbar area. I really didnt want to do that so i opted for a couple of cortisone shots and the next 3 and a half years i did really well. Here lately my back and sciatica nerve has me just wore out. My legs are week and tired with constant back pain. The nerve must be getting worse since the pain is going up the back into the neck and shoulder area, My old Doctor retired. so i went to a back specialist anyway the specialist did x rays and said it didnt look good that i needed a MRI. Anthems blue cross refused my MRI. My doctor did a pier to pier talk with Anthem and they still denied it. They recommend i do 6 weeks of physical therapy and see how i feel. Well with my back being in the condition its in i dont think 6 weeks of physical therapy is going to be the answer. I NOW HAVE 2 OF THE BEST SURGEONS COMMENDING A MRI. ONE IS A HARVARD GRADUATE SURGEON AND THE OTHER IS A ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST AND ANTHEMS STILL WONT APPROVE A MRI. OUR COMPANY HAS CLOSE OR OVER 100 PEOPLE THROUGH THIS COMPANY. I THINK ITS TIME TO REEVALUATE OUR HEALTH INSURANCE. If anyone has issues getting approval for a MRI with Anthem please report to the division of insurance. Anthem has been sued once for not paying for procedures it may be time for another class action lawsuit. Please spread the word Thank you so much for your time.

Prepare for a runaround
Got quite the runaround when trying to register my account. Person I spoke to was extremely difficult to hear and read the most monotonous, monotone script when I just needed simple answers. Everything worked out, but there's definitely kinks in their registration and customer service section.

Anthem is so terrible
Anthem is so terrible. Maybe if I didn't know better, I wouldn't think so. But I do, and it's apparent.
Recently, my employer switched us to Anthem from Cigna, who I had for the past 9 years. I was comfortable with Cigna, I knew their rates, I had the app and website, it was all good.
So since January I've had Anthem and have had nothing but issues with them and their unorganized, poor service departments.
First, I can't change my own phone number on the website. As of Jan 1st all of my information was supposed to transfer over. I have worked for my company for 9 years. I've had my cell phone since I moved and got married for 10 years. I had Anthem at a previous job in a previous city 12 years ago. So somehow the old cell number with a different area code, that I haven't had since before I had my job (9 years to 10 years right) is listed. Obviously they reactivated my account with my SSN. I try to change it myself online, I can't. I call their customer service, I can't update it. They say I'm part of a "group" policy (no duh it's through work) and that I have to have my employer submit a change request to them which takes weeks. I argue that my employer has never had this old number since I haven't had it. They don't care. So I call my employer, they verify that the number they sent, which is the only one in my account with them, is the current one with a very different area code. They say they'll resubmit the change request anyway. Weeks goes by, I go through this again. It's been over 60 days - it's still showing the old number.
Later, I was prepping for overseas travel requiring some specialized vaccines. I call Anthem to inquire what is the allowable out of pocket expense or billable maximum the doctor can charge me that Anthem has negotiated with them for 3 specific vaccines so I can guess (since I haven't met my deductible) how much it'll cost. They tell me they don't know, I have to ask my doctor. Doctor's offices don't disclose this, they tell you to consult your insurance. This is known to anyone who deals with medical billing often. So I argue the point that Anthem needs to inform me of the costs they've approved as allowable maximum billing for these vaccines. No progress. The gal says she has no way to access that and can't help me at all. So basically, Anthem doesn't know how much it costs until I'm billed either? How is that?
Next, I submitted a claim myself through their website - easy enough - no changes for 34 days. I call today and I speak to someone who can't find it, spends forever looking for it, and in the end, has to resubmit it because "sometimes they sit for months without anything happening".
What?! Their website is less user friendly, their app doesn't work well, and I dislike so far their customer support and service and my inability to manage my own contact info or try to get any idea of what the costs of items are.
It's awful. I wouldn't recommend the to ANYONE who had a choice. Sure, it's better than nothing I suppose. But geez.
