Worst experience ever on refund

My partner bought a bag of $2950 on 14 Aug 2024.He had to cancel order before dispatch as I did not like it. Today it is 16 Sep 2024, my partner still hasn't received as it has been more than month. Every Monday, my partner calls for the fund son his account. They just said we have reived the refund, wait for 7 business days, wait for over night, wait for 2/3 days, wait I will deposit now and now said that the funds will reflect in account but we don't know when. My partner and I, are sick of following up on same thing. This too much of hustle for our own money to receive. We even have been to consumer fair. But, this bank jut do not wan to Listen.

All my savings were stolen, Bendigo has done nothing

A couple of months ago a number of fraudulent transactions were made on my card and my ENTIRE savings account with Bendigo Bank was emptied. It has been over 80 days and Bendigo Bank is yet to do anything about this.

I was purchasing groceries and preparing for an overseas trip when my card declined. I checked my account and realised that everything, all my money that I had saved for my upcoming trip was gone.

I immediately tried to cancel my card, but due to a glitch with the Bendigo website/app I was not able to.

The next day I went into a branch in tears, hoping someone would help me. The Bendigo staff told me that there was nothing they could do for another week, completely dismissing my distress.

The next day I called Bendigo customer care. After I begged them to take my situation seriously, they canceled my card and told me their disputes team would be in contact within 45 days. I again felt like the gravity of my concern was dismissed.

50 days later I still had not been contacted.

When I was finally able to get back in contact with customer service (each time I have waited over 30mins on hold) I was told that my dispute had been rejected.

I was in disbelief. I had Googled the description next to the fraudulent charges and seen that the institution responsible was a business school in Lithuania with many many reviews pertaining to fraud recorded on other websites.

But my dispute had somehow been rejected?

After over 1.5 hours on the phone, begging that my case be taken seriously, Bendigo finally agreed to re-lodge my dispute.

IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER 90 DAYS SINCE I LOST MY ENTIRE SAVINGS AND I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN CONTACTED.

Zero stars

If I could give this Branch of the Bendigo Bank a rating of ZERO stars - I would!!!!! The Bendigo Bank Branch at the Smithfield Shopping Centre near Cairns would have to be the most inefficient, poorly managed branch of ANY bank in the country. Every time I go to that Branch I walk in with a feeling of trepidation. Nine out of every ten times I go there - I walk out in a foul mood - because of the lack of service, the inefficiency and the attitude of "I don't care" that seems to pervade the staff. Regularly there is only one Teller working - but a lineup of 10 - 15 people. The Teller service is either slow, inefficient, or plain straight rude (I don't know how to do that, you'll have to ask someone else - one comment made to me). It seems that there are always other staff just standing around. Today I wanted to find out why Bendigo Bank had suddenly decided that I couldn't recharge my pre-paid Optus Mobile account using either my credit card or my debit card. After two visits (I walked out of the first visit after seeing a huge line of customers - with ONE teller working) but came back an hour later only to note three staff sitting around in the conference room and still only one teller working. After waiting 15 minutes I walked out. If it wasn't so difficult to change all my accounts to another Bank I would have done so years ago!

“Better big bank” more like worst big…

“Better big bank” more like worst big bank. Third time in a month e-banking has been down in the middle of the day without any warning. Leaving me stranded at the shops unable to complete purchases. Company doesn’t seem to care as they clearly haven’t been doing anything to troubleshoot these issues. Customer service also completely useless offering no solutions. Absolute worst bank avoid at all costs.

No protection at all and certainly no empathy.

This bank has no empathy at all for any of their customers. My friend who has just recovered from secondary breast cancer and now has a spot detected on her pancreas had her bank card skimmed of $4k which was all the money she had. For the past month she has been dragged through a process that treats her as though she has committed fraud instead of the victim she is. It's causing her additional stress and when we made a phone call to the bank explaining her condition, we were told there are many of others in her condition and that we have to follow process. The bank also advised that her card was most likely skimmed when someone walked close to her either in the hospital or at the airport coming back from the hospital. The banks card failed her, so shouldn't the process be, cancel her card, return her money and then go through the process to get the banks money back instead of dragging their customers through mud and making them feel like they are trying to commit fraud just so they don't have to pay out. And to not care at all about the health strain this is placing on her in her condition. It's absolutely disgusting and they should be ashamed of the stress they are placing on these customers. Bendigo Bank...YOUR CARD FAILED! THIS IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD WEAR!

Banks verses Bitcoin

I should have learnt a lesson when Bendigo took $4000 of my money and it took me 12 months to retrieve it. It just turned up.
My experience in the last few days is far worse. I have a large amount in my account and the bank refuses to let me spend it as I wish. They say it is for my protection. I want to send it to a Bitcoin exchange and they have it blocked. They say Bitcoin is a scam however the real crims are the banksters including Bendigo. I then asked to take my money in cash. Not on! They will only allow me $5000 per day. (To keep me safe) I think they have the bulk of my money locked up for the day they bail in all customer's money, which I assess to be soon. Bitcoin is beyond the control of the government so it is a threat to banks and governments. Bitcoin is beyond the control of the government so it is a threat to banks and governments. Bitcoin in a hard wallet is safe. Banks are criminals and Bendigo is up there with the worst. Your money is not safe.

Terrible product knowledge and customer service

I should have read all the online reviews before I signed up to them.

Staff product training needed - avoid this placeTerrible customer service with 4 of the 4 staff I spoke too unable to give a definite answer on third party data sharing or open banking despite their website stating they are able to do this.
After being cut off the first time the second call I made reached a lady who didn’t want to hear what I said and kept telling me they didn’t do it anymore because it’s screen scraping or something like that. Even after I told her I was told by the previous staff member they do and even after he confirmed that the provider I wanted to give access to was an authorised third party. She just kept saying she’s going to terminate the call because she handle being told she was wrong (after telling me she’d been there years).

Called back again and Alison answered saying they just had training on this and they no longer offer this. I then directed her to their very own website where it stated they did support open banking to which she flat out said the website was wrong without even thinking to investigate it further. She’d obviously just spoken to the other rude lady who’d just hung up on me 3 minutes earlier.

Then I called the complaints service hoping that at least someone could help but was told they have to investigate with the tech team as to why it’s not working for me. All I need is a simple answer - can you do what your website says you can or can’t you? Then at least I can make an informed decision to move my business somewhere else.

In any case, if you don’t mind dealing with staff who do not know their own service offerings or products, you’re going to love Bendigo Bank. If however, good customer service and being able to deal with specialists who know their product is important to you, I would suggest you avoid this bank at all costs! RIP Bendigo Bank!

Was a customer from 2008 to May 22 2024…

Was a customer from 2008 to May 22 2024 (16 years) best decision I have made. When you give feedback, complaint or ask of anything the whole brand and branches put you through excessive hoops and so much difficulty in getting a response or obtaining a loan ( other than home loan). To anyone wanting to take their business to bendigo don't. Bank Australia or other credit community co op would be better. I felt since early 2020 ( just before covid) service has gone down and overall the bank puts you through so many hoops and headaches even worse than big 4.

Truly Unbelievable Phone Wait Times Killed this Bank For Me. Account Closed!

My recent 'membership' or relationship with BenBank was over less than 1 month after it started. I was dissatisfied at what had become of my current/previous bank after 15 years (big 4 bank) and thought I'd give a smaller 'community' style bank a try. I was planning to move all of my accounts, credit cards and loans (incl home loan) across to BenBank. I started with their highest interest account. Got that up and running only to discover that to be able to transfer money out of it to another bank/friend/family, I had to phone them to activate the 'Pay Anyone' function. How ridiculous - I've just opened a bank account online with the efficiency that entails and now I have to phone up to enable one of the crucial functions of the account to be able to use it. Ok, so I call up and I'm on hold for ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES. Then, the phone goes dead! I call back and the same thing happens after 35 mins on hold. in disgust I pressed the option to have a callback. That never came. After a few hours I called and finally got someone after a 40 min wait. I then got the 'PayAnyone' function working. After getting off the phone I logged onto my BenBank account and transferred all the money back to my old bank in abject disgust of BenBank. I won't be wasting anymore time on BenBank, let alone the time to phone again to cancel the account. It can just sit and rot as far as I'm concerned - they can do what they want with it. I naively thought a small bank would be more responsive - my old dinosour big bank now looks good by comparison. BenBank brags about top service and caring - this is lost in reality it seems. Too sad for words BenBank.

DO NOT take out a home loan with…

DO NOT take out a home loan with Bendigo Bank. We sold our house recently and wanted to access the deposit money, OUR MONEY, for some personal requirements. Bendigo REFUSED to release our money even though the vendor agreed to sign the Section 27. We are now going through AFCA, the industry ombudsman, to try and resolve it. Bendigo's excuse: what if the vendor can't settle?? Ridiculous!!!

Elderly People DO NOT USE THIS BANK If…

Elderly People DO NOT USE THIS BANK If your old do not use this bank !!
My mother wanted to withdraw some of her money for renovations.
After a grilling last week she was told to come back on Tuesday to collect the money as they had to order it in.
I took her there today as it was a large amount and she was nervous to collect it on her own.
When we arrived they took her into a room and questioned her thinking I was trying to scam her money from her.
She explained what it was for and after a long wait she asked me to take her home.
I could see she was getting stressed as she is elderly and could not understand why the didn’t want to give her the money.
When we were leaving the lady came out of the office. I told her is the money here or not. I was told no we didn’t order it.
So this has created a lot of stress for my mother and I have to deal with it now.
Got a phone call from the manager of the bank and a simple apology was given but still no money.
If you are elderly and deal with this bank be sure you have a power of attorney because your money is not yours.
DO NOT USE THIS BANK !!!

Save yourself the heartache

Opening an account, turns out is hard. Getting a regular debit card, is hard. Getting your card onto iPhone, is hard. Getting pay all ability on app without two hours wait, is hard. Using software on two phones, is hard. Closing the account, without going into a branch and racking up fees, is hard. See the pattern, don’t do it, save yourself trouble.

Horrendous

Horrendous. I would rather have teeth pulled. Inept, and obstructive. Initially seemed okay but then the ground shifts, and agreed actions not followed up on. Process not streamlined and doesn't understand the documents sent, asks for other documents inconsistent with what is required because they haven't looked properly at what was sent

Worst bank and customer service I’ve…

Worst bank and customer service I’ve ever experienced. I was with another bank for over 15+ years never had any problems with payments being deposited on time, online transactions and customer service. Been with this lot under a year and had nothing but problems atleast once a month. And you call customer service and are treated like a moron. See you later Bendigover bank, I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I want to make it public knowledge that…

I want to make it public knowledge that if you want your hard earned savings kept safe and protgected, DO NOT TRUST the Bendigo Bank to do this. My money was safer under a bush in my garden and I wouldn't have to pay for the so called privilege and supposed service except for watering the bush. My computer was hacked and the hackers scammed my entire savings in 3 transactions into 2 different accounts in other banks. Not in my name. raise the limit twice of the amount to transfer without the Bendigo Bank checking the legitimacy of the transfer. No hold placed on the transfer of funds, no call to confirm that this was legitimate, no SMS. The response I was given when checking my balance was that customers transfer funds all the time. Obviously their Fraud team do not consider this to warrant a hold placed on the account nor any follow up to determine the legitimacy. Their fraud team deal with multiple complaints relating to fraud activity on bank accounts. I strongly advise you leave and go to another bank that will actually protect you money.

Caveat Emptor The Little bank with Big hidden fees

Caveat Emptor
Check out all the fine print that Bendigo doesn't tell you about !
One grubby disgusting fee they have is if you place an international order using their MasterCard debit card, not only do they give a dud exchange rate and take a slice of the action but the little bank with big fees also charges another percentage on top. Getting slugged an exchange rate where the AUD is almost half a USD is a bit over the top! I've cancelled my card with Bendigo and encourage all clients of the bank to have a very close look at your statements.
