FINAL UPDATE (Jan 2026): Best Buy has now issued a full refund of $451.99. To their credit, they also offered to honor the original sale price if I chose to re-order the tablet. However, due to the... See more

Poor customer service
Ordered a E-bike from Best Buy on a Wednesday promised be there by purolator by Friday. Stayed home for 2 days and informed by rep to call back Monday. Called Monday as instructed could not tell us where the package was …..different messages from customer reps do not know how to provide accurate info … never will buy or recommend Best Buy
16 months, 10 calls, zero product: Best Buy refuses to refund a digital code they never sent
I purchased a digital software download from Best Buy Canada in January 2025 and never received the product code.
Over the last 16 months, I have wasted my time contacting customer support 10 separate times to resolve this in good faith. On at least 5 of those calls, agents confidently assured me the issue was fixed and told me to "wait 24–48 hours" for the email. Every single time, absolutely nothing arrived.
During my last follow-up, the agent flat-out refused to issue a refund. Their backward corporate logic was that they "cannot verify whether a digital code has already been used"—completely ignoring the fact that their own system failed to deliver it to me in the first place, an operational failure an earlier agent explicitly blamed on their backend vendor, "Codes2go." To cap it off, a manager named William promised a callback within the hour to sort it out. I never received a call.
My time is worth far more than the price of this software. Nobody spends 16 months making 10 separate customer service calls to scam a retailer. Because of this absolute gridlock, I have had to purchase the software elsewhere, file an official dispute with American Express, and log a formal statutory violation with the Quebec Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC).
Bottom line: Best Buy Canada's system for digital fulfillment is fundamentally broken, and their customer service policies are actively hostile to consumers. Avoid buying digital products from them at all costs.
Outstanding customer service at Best…
Outstanding customer service at Best Buy St. John’s Stavanger Drive!
The staff exceeded our expectations in every way. Every question we had was answered clearly, and they took the time to find solutions that worked for us. They even arranged for an online-only product to be shipped to another Best Buy location for pickup, which was incredibly helpful.
Friendly, respectful, professional, and customer-focused from start to finish. This is exactly how retail service should be. A big thank you to the entire team—keep up the excellent work!
Don't order anything from them or even…
Don't order anything from them or even buy from them they don't speak English or understand English they take your orders and say it's sent and it never shows up in your mail or at your door best buy sucks

The BB platform has become a platform for scammers in general, their support are at best useless, and they behave as if you work for them.
Customer Service Experience
I accidentally made an error on my online order on my delivery address, this was my fault. However, customer service made no effort to help me. I was very disappointed in them. This was my first and last time buying from Best Buy. I should have purchased the TVs from Amazon. Live and learn.

Purchased a wine fridge for almost $600.. Purchased online.
They took credit card as payment and a week later they have not shipped.
Tracking info was sent to me with tracking number but if you track it,it says awaiting courier pick up????
Horrible customer service.
Finally found a phone number but the human that I spoke to could only say, awaiting courier???? She had not clue as to why the purchase was never shipped.
This is why Amazon and Costco will kill Best Buy
Bought a Galaxy watch May 03 in store, was told it would arrive in 2-3 days, never arrived.
Tracked on website, said was with FedEx, chatted with chatbot, then a live agent, told me it was definitely with Fed Ex. Checked with FedEx, never was dropped off. May 14, went to store asking for a refund, said they couldn't refund till there was an investigation into where it went. I don't care where it went, I know I didn't get it. Told to wait 3-5 days for investigation. After 9 days I got an email saying I could return to store for my refund. Back to store May 22, can't do a refund, no manager in store, staff called mgr, told to come back tomorrow, and they were sorry and would "do something" for us.
Back to store, 20 days after purchase, got our refund and nothing else. THIS is why BB is dying! Tried to support a "local" business, fail.
I ordered a Surface laptop in-store
I ordered a Surface laptop in-store, but the employee selected the wrong hardware specs and ordered a Bilingual keyboard without asking me. When I called customer service to fix it, I was told I have to wait for the wrong laptop to arrive, return it to the store, and re-order the correct one. This completely ruins the timeline for my son's birthday gift. I understand mistakes happen, but this is a terrible customer experience. 1 star.
Don't buy Best Buy online, but no one in store to help either
Between Best Buy and Canada Post I'm not sure who has the worst service, it's like a competition who can give the poorest service. Could get hold of one person in PG Best Buy to find out if they have stock, call center said they will call me back in 5 min...waited 2 days. Was forced to buy item online. Now it's lost in the post somewhere and all I get "is sorry we'll investigate"...two weeks to investigate when the item is already in PG according to them. Still no item...
Worst experience ever in a shop, employee feels is doing a favor selling things
TL;DR: A sales representative at the Eaton Centre Best Buy confidently sold me the wrong size Ray-Ban glasses despite my expressed concerns. Fortunately, I verified the sizing online before opening the box and had a second employee correct the mistake, but the initial representative's defensiveness and refusal to simply double-check the information created a highly frustrating experience.
Full situation:
I recently visited the Best Buy location at the Eaton Centre, hoping to purchase a pair of first-generation Ray-Ban glasses in the large frame size. As I was traveling internationally and leaving soon, I specifically needed to secure the correct item in-store that day.
Unfortunately, my experience with the initial sales representative was highly frustrating. When I couldn't find the large size on display, I asked for assistance. The representative checked the app and insisted a specific model was the large version, even though the screen did not explicitly indicate this. She then retrieved a box and claimed that the letter "L" on the packaging stood for "large." I politely asked her to double-check, pointing out that all the boxes on the shelf had the same "L" marking, which seemed unlikely given that the large size is a less common model. Instead of verifying the information, she became defensive and insisted she was absolutely certain.
To avoid an argument, I purchased the item. However, before opening the packaging, I stepped aside and quickly researched the sizing online. I discovered that the frame size printed on the box I had just purchased was 50 (regular), whereas the large model requires a size 53.
I then approached a different employee to explain the situation. He kindly investigated and confirmed that the large size was not even in stock on the shop floor and had to be retrieved from the warehouse. I ended up having to process an immediate exchange before even reaching the store's exit.
Had I not taken the initiative to research the product myself before breaking the seal, I would have been left with an open-box item that would have been much harder to return. Even worse, I could have traveled home with the wrong product entirely, making a return impossible.
While the second employee was very helpful, this situation could have been entirely avoided. If a representative is unsure about a product's specifications, there is absolutely no shame in looking it up to ensure the customer gets exactly what they need. A little humility and a willingness to double-check facts would have easily secured a straightforward sale, rather than resulting in a frustrated customer and a near-miss with the wrong product.
Pissed Customer BEWARE
I made a purchase online then to find out its a third-party seller the product does not work and I tried to return it but told it had to be inspected and to be in 100% new condition or the refund would be denied. The only way to see if the procuct worked was to set it up. Im not sending it back for them to keep it and not refund my money. I have went to Best buy store and have NO help. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE on both parts
Avoid Best Buy Marketplace!
I purchased a refurbished (Excellent) Samsung 50” TV for $529.99 on Best Buy Marketplace. From their website “What to expect from refurbished products: Inspected by 3rd party refurbisher, 80% or better battery lite (sic) performance, Device tested for 100% functionality”.
“Excellent condition” = A few to no signs of wear in non-visible areas.
After it shipped, I discovered that CBC had done a hidden camera investigation into BestBuy’s electronics (Marketplace). The results were appalling. You can watch it on YouTube. It was done in 2021 and has 4M views. So Best Buy has had 5 years to address numerous issues. Based on my experience, they have actually gotten worse (except for the refund process). Even their own employees are seen on CBC’s hidden cameras warning customers not to shop on Best Buy Marketplace. I discovered that I was purchasing through a third party seller. This is on the ad listing in very small type. But I thought Best Buy was vetting these sellers.
So I was braced that the TV would show up and be non-functional or very poorly repaired with cheap parts or described as excellent but likely only partly functional and/or in poor cosmetic condition.
The packing consisted of 1 piece of the original styrofoam at one end. Someone had tried to fashion a second one for the other end using bubble wrap. We plugged the TV in. A small area at the bottom lit up with coloured lines in all directions. The rest of the screen was black. There were 4 very large cracks emanating from this spot. It looked like someone had struck the TV with a ball peen hammer. Purolator is not at fault, the shipping box was not damaged in any way. Several Reddit posts and CBC mentioned difficulties in getting refunds. Or little to no help from Best Buy when dealing with a third party seller (Mine was Tech Outlet Center).
How is this a viable business plan Best Buy? What have you done since being exposed in 2021 to protect your customers? It seems Best Buy is just renting out space on their website to unvetted sellers (at least in my case). I don’t see how my experience was a financial success for them. They are letting these sellers ride on the Best Buy name in exchange for cash. Is that $ worth damaging your credibility? So Tech Outlet Center put a TV that was clearly destroyed into a flimsy box with very little padding. Then they paid to ship it across the country. Then Best Buy lost me as a customer. Then they had to pay to ship it back. Getting my money back was the only part of this that went smoothly. I did learn my lesson and purchased a new TV for full price from another seller. It’s been a great experience.
For some reason, I am unable to post photos to Trustpilot of the experience. Too bad, because I have some good ones.
Stay away from Bestbuy 3rd party venders

Ordering system failure
I ordered a dishwasher, and accidentally entered the wrong expiry date on my credit card. Somehow the purchase went through. I contacted Best Buy right away to correct the issue. They told me to fix the expiry date in my profile, and the payment would be tried again the next day, and nothing would change. The next day, still no payment. The day after I followed up again, and they were able to fix it, but by that point, the delivery date had moved significantly. No more purchases from Best Buy online for me!
Avoid Best Buy Delivery & Installation – A Complete Logistical Disaster
I strongly advise against using Best Buy for appliance delivery and installation. My experience has been a nightmare of incompetence and poor customer service.
• Refusal of Service: Despite confirming all installation requirements with their logistics team over the phone beforehand, the delivery crew refused to install the unit. They claimed the space was "too tight," yet a third-party professional I had to hire afterward completed the job easily using the exact materials purchased from Best Buy.
• Incurred Costs: Because the delivery team left the units obstructing common areas while I was out of the country, I was forced to pay $482.90 for emergency third-party installation. Best Buy has flatly refused to reimburse these costs.
• Unprofessional Conduct: The delivery crew’s attitude was so poor that it required intervention from my building’s security and management. They have managed to damage Best Buy’s reputation not just with me, but with my entire building’s administration.
• Insulting Compensation: After weeks of delays, missed appointments, and nearly $500 in out-of-pocket expenses caused by their failure, Best Buy offered a symbolic $25 credit. This is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of accountability.
If you value your time and money, buy your appliances elsewhere—or at the very least, do not trust their "installation" services. They do not stand behind their work or their customers.

Refuse return
Bestbuy store said I would be able to return item when I went into store.i still had one day. Paperwork was done in-store.3rd party indicated I was past the return period 1 day.dont trust 3rd party
Placed a $541 order with Best Buy…
Placed a $541 order with Best Buy Canada using their “Metro e24” expedited shipping — the whole selling point being delivery within 24 hours. Instead, the package has been crawling across the same city for several days. “Awaiting Carrier Pickup” for over 12 hours, no movement, no updates, no ETA. A package literally taking days to travel within one city.
Here’s the irony: I’m Ukrainian. Back home, Nova Poshta delivers parcels across the entire country in 24 hours — through blackouts, air raids, and active war zones. And somehow a Canadian courier in peacetime can’t move a box across town in less than several days.
If you can’t actually deliver in 24 hours, stop calling the service “e24.” False advertising at this point. Do better
Real mistake to order online
Real mistake to order online.
No communications, delay you are abandoned.Do not order from Best Buy because: you are not ordering from Best Buy. It's not like walking into a store and buying their merchandise, as you would expect and as they present it, they are simply a middle-man website for third-party vendors, mostly outside of Canada, using their own sketchy delivery services and with no quality screening by Best Buy. Even going through their customer service system presents itself as being done by and from Best Buy, so I sent Best Buy concerns about their third-party seller, which was then instantly whisked away TO the third-party seller and never seen by Best Buy.
Best Buy Express Yonge Eglinton
Best Buy Express Yonge Eglinton.
Bought a product online and was told order was processing. Waited 5 hours and returned to find out the item was out of stock. CSR didn’t bother checking if the item was in stock. Total waste of time and shitty service!
