Mt bike cross-country shipment

Your service made it possible for me to buy the bike I wanted from across the country with very little logistical effort. Communication with the support team during prep and to confirm package dimensions was fast adn easy. Bike arrived in perfect condition.

The process was easy, but...

The whole process was relatively easy to accomplish. I do have a couple of constructive criticisms.
1. I asked for my bike to be picked up on a certain day so that it would arrive at its destination on a particular day. I was assured this would happen but the bike was picked up 5 days early and therefore was delivered to a hotel 5 days early. This not only caused some anxiety on my part but also inconvenience the hotel to which it was delivered.
2. The bike was packed by a local bike shop in a bike box. The box size was known because the box they used is a common bike box size. However, after my bike was delivered I receive a notice from Bikeflights that their measurements show the box to be 1 in bigger in one of the dimensions and charge me an additional amounts after the box that already been shipped. I am not sure whose dimensions were right but it just feels wrong the way that is handled.

Way too expensive

Way too expensive.
I was never informed what shipping costs would be. So once I was stuck with a $100+ box I then had to shell out $250+ to ship it.

Would not recommend.

The purchase of the bike box and the purchase of shipping are two separate transactions, and we do outline this throughout our online store so customers know that shipping is not included with the box purchase. Shipping costs can vary based on factors such as the shipment's origin, destination, box size, weight, and the level of service selected, which is why they're quoted separately once those details are entered.

Good company but not reusing.

This is a hardworking company. They are able to help make spur of the moment changes with shipping to ensure you receive your bike. My sister took off work to receive my bike and ups couldn’t find her address. Bike flights was able to reroute it to a bike shop with just a $20 cost.
Unfortunately, they rely on other people to take care of your bike. On the way to it’s destination, ups broke the box and the battery key and a pedal were lost. Bike flights reimbursed the original cost of the pedals. That process wasn’t hard but I still need to pay out of pocket because the pedals cost more than they did when I originally purchased them. The key is just a loss. Worst of all, after my bike’s trip. It isn’t working correctly at all. It is constantly shutting off. This wasn’t happening before. In fact, until the trip, my bike never shut off while riding it. Bike shop is STILL looking into how to fix it. They already replaced the battery holder and it’s still malfunctioning. The fact my bike is currently broken when I was under the impression it would be safe is very upsetting. For that reason, I will not be using Bike flights again. I’m not going to rely on someone else to treat my bike as well as I do.

If they determine the malfunction is related to damage sustained during shipping and can provide documentation supporting that conclusion, please don't hesitate to reach back out. Bikeflights was great

Bikeflights was great. I ended a 70-day tour in San Francisco, and I only had 3 days to break down my bike and mail it. I was able to book with Bikeflights the day beforehand, which was ideal. It gave me flexibility for when I could end my tour. And it was very easy. When I had a glitch in dealing with the website, I both called and emailed Bikeflights and immediately, someone at the company both called and emailed me and I got a solution. Great customer service, easy to use, and fair pricing.
