Awful service. I used to be a Birchbox customer years ago and loved it. Decided to go back in oct paid for box… nearly dec still no box. Dreadful service. Cancelled subscription. Will not use again !!!!
Halloween offer?
Birchbox advertised a Halloween deal so I signed up for a 3 month subscription. I paid mid October but still have not received anything. I wish I’d read these reviews before giving them my money. If the company is not shipping orders then why were they trying to attract more customers over Halloween? This is really disappointing.
FRAUD - taking money and not supplying goods
Emailed me to buy an Advent calendar in October - took the money then nothing! Chased today they are going bust and no refund!!! They know back in August so they fraudulently took money for goods they were never going to send!!! FRAUD!

They will take your money and give you no product. Things were going great up until a few months ago but 100% do not trust Birchbox now so please save your money and do NOT sign up with these scammers. Still waiting for my October box that they took the money for on the 1st Oct but still no product!!!

Payment for my October Birchbox was taken promptly on 1st October, but I've still not received the box. I don't think anyone has. I want my money back and my subscription cancelled.
When the September box arrived (more than halfway through October!) it was damaged and the items were put in a dirty make up bag/ wash bag that was sent out last year. I got two primers and an eyeshadow trio that was included in a box earlier this year. They are definitely using old stock and now they've run out of it they are not fulfilling boxes at all.
A lot of people are saying they can't log in to their account and the support team conveniently "can't find their details". I wonder if there has been a data breach, or perhaps the people who can't log in to their accounts are those who have paid for subscriptions in advance, rather than monthly, and are due for renewal. A person more cynical than myself might think that's been done on purpose to prevent those customers from cancelling.

As with all other recent posts, I also have been left out of pocket now due to missing boxes.
I thought it was odd when my last box arrived in a plain cardboard box, no packaging and full of old samples I had already received. I complained and did receive a response advising a new personalised service would be going live soon......
They have now switched off comments on their social media channels, you cannot log-in etc. and the Jecca Blac primer I received burnt my skin. I have also been a loyal customer and would have been more understanding had they been upfront and honest, similar to the issues we faced during lockdown.
Filing for Bankruptcy?
Well after waiting about 6 weeks for my September box, they took money for the October box and I still haven’t received it. I have been getting their boxes for over 5 years, but lately the items inside were a bit boring and hardly ever any makeup. Now I’ve just done a Google search and it looks like they are thinking about filing for bankruptcy, as their website has gone quiet and they have deleted the majority of posts on their Facebook page. So they have taken a lot of money from customers and basically ripped them off. Not very good at all

Been getting these boxes for years and never had an issue with delivery or service. Didn’t receive a September box, or October. Emailed and after getting 1 reply asking me to confirm details, never had a response back despite multiple emails.
I’m on a yearly upfront subscription so lost £48 on the subscription.
Delivery & Techincal issues happen, but it’s not an excuse not to communicate to your customers.

I still haven't received my boxes - thats 3 payments and nothing. I cant find any 'contact' details now on the website, and cant see where to cancel my subscription (I have a 12month subscription) according to their help section it can only be done on the last month of subscription. I do not want to pay another penny for fresh air!

I have been billed for October still no box, they keep advising that I will be sent the tracking details nothing has still been sent, and to top it off they advised that they wouldn't bill for November but they have attempted to money 3 times. Asked for a refund they advised I need to wait for the box THEN send it back. I don't know when the box will arrive! Email addresses don't work or they go to Birchbox.ES which is so unhelpful. Was with Birckbox Spain when I lived in Barcelona and had the same issue. Everything has gone wrong since you change the website!
Poor service
Do not order from this company. Still waiting for my advent calendar. Stated it would be dispatched by 21st October 2022. Despite emailing them I still haven't received it.

Birchbox for the last few months have not been paying their suppliers therefore all stock is on hold. October boxes, advent calanders are not being dispatched.
No work is being carried out. Most likely it never will again.
Save your time, cancel your subscription, you can't even checkout online now either.

Sadly disappointing
It's now the 8th of November and I still haven't had my October Birchbox and am not sure I ever will.
It pains me to write this as the service used to be a lot more prompt than Glossybox, and I previously left a glowing review of Birchbox's customer service before their seemingly disasterous system 'upgrade' that seems to have caused so much trouble.
I was kindly given a year gift subscription which I initially enjoyed, but is becoming more and more stressful to manage, after firstly not being able to access my account with my usual Outlook email and going back and forth about that, and then my September box going temporarily missing when it was finally dispatched in early October.
When it comes to the actual contents of the box, they do seem to be getting smaller. I would love to receive my October and November boxes and be proved otherwise though!
I have received a lot of apologetic emails about the various issues I've encountered and don't blame the staff, but I'm just not sure how the company has gone so downhill. I am sad to say I definitely won't be renewing my subscription when it ends.

My September box was received over a month late and I am yet to receive my October box which was paid for on 3rd October.
I am fed up with waiting so have cancelled my subscription. There are many other subscriptions out there with far better service and a good opportunity to try something new.

I ordered the Advent calendar and was told it would be dispatched on the 20th October, I have still had no updates on my order but my money has been taken I can't get in contact with them they blank all my emails and have turned off the comments on social media, i don't know how to get my £85 back !! SCAM! Just read reviews below and the exact same has happened to me! I purchased 3 boxes in July and only received 1. Upon trying to access my account I found my account had been completely wiped. Messaged them and basically kept getting palmed off and told they were ‘investigating’ 2 months later no boxes, no refund and when I asked for a sort of timeframe as to when I can expect the issue to be resolved I got told they couldn’t give me a timeframe!
the customer service was absolutely appalling, vague and unhelpful and they eventually completely ignored my messages I had to go to my bank to get my money back

Something is happening with this company and I doubt they will be trading very much longer.
I have been a loyal customer to this brand for several years paying a three month subscription. Never really had a problem until this July, the boxes arrived late and had duplicates of other products recently received.
The website was updated and I was unable to access my account to chose the samples. The boxes then started to arrive up to 6 weeks late. I cancelled my subscription and was informed my last box would be October's. At the end of October I noticed that birchbox had cancelled my October box when I questioned this they stated that it was a generic message generated whilst my box was put together. Which is untrue I have never had this before. They are not honoring prepaid subscriptions if you cancel. They have now stopped all comments on their social media so people are unable to question them. They state that they there is no stock left to honour October boxes but are refusing to refund. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE.

I have been a subscriber for 4 years and the last few months has been an awful experience with this so called “company”. September’s Birchbox didn’t arrive in September despite being charged, I also cancelled my subscription and they continued to take my money, I’ve also not had my October box and they have switched off all comments on social media and won’t reply when I reach out to their support email. Avoid this company at all costs!
