DON'T DO IT, IT'S NOT WORTH IT!
My daughter booked accom, turned up and told the key was locked inside and she was offered other accom that she also had to pay for. Call centre is run out of a country where English is not the first language so be prepared to spell everything 3 times. JUST DON'T DO IT. It may look great or cheap but it's a scam.
DON'T USE BOOKABACH FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY OCCURS ON THIS SITE
I booked a bach for 4 nights for $3700 I was told that the bach wasn't available but then got a message that I was booked at the same house for 2 nights (not the dates I had requested) and the cost would be $25,000. I phoned to get it cancelled and was told they couldn't do anything as my booking was made by me and if I wanted it removed I would have to contact the host. I had to cancel my credit cards to prevent being charged $25,000. ALARMING FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY DON"T USE THIS SITE TO BOOK

This company need to be prosecuted for the ruthless scams they produce,
Last night I booked 6 nights at a Bach that cost me $3100.00 which was taken out of my account after booking confirmed only to find out in the morning that it wasn’t available. I had to contact them and confront them for their error agreeing to a full refund. They refunded $2600.00 and I lost $600 for their error.
This is pure evil and I can’t believe they are still operating with the amount of evidence here.
I will 100 percent follow this up.
Massive scam site
Massive scam site. They don't help at all, slow to respond and don't assist
a poor agregator, use the originals like expedia instead
I found out the hard way Bookabach is just an agregator for third parties such as expedia. This means that there is no consistency between the information shown for the same property, there ability to manage changes are non existent and can cost you. They will push any issues with their own bookings to the host (who has no control) and throw their hands in the air with any other change issues. Use at your own risk!
Host said hadn't received booking
Host said hadn't received booking. Bookabatch said not their problem, couldnt talk to anyone there , long waits for response, I was lucky, I received a refund through the cancelation process within the policy timeframe, this was not something they suggested. Absolute crap, won't go near them again.
Didn't get a full refund
I didn't get a full refund after my reservation was cancelled by the host as "the dates aren't available". The amount I was refunded was $86.68 short of what I paid just a day or so earlier. Why do I have to lose money despite this being bookabach's error? Avoid at all costs.
Deserves less than one star.
Deserves less than one star.
Horrible site. This was not the hosts fault but this useless site
Scam company
Scam company. Promise 100% refund and then refuse to honour it. Impossible to reach anyone and have anyone take accountability and resolve anything. Actually got a chat agent confirm to me in writing today that it is a scam! Host was pretty rude too but thankfully not staying in their property.
Speed of light money out . Refund not so
Very quick to take out money, speed of light, for booking but refund not so. really don't need it I cancelled due to ill health so just don't need the dicking around. Never again !!!
Incompetent, avoid at all costs.
Bookabach is just a trading name. It is actually the multinational VRBO group, owned by Expedia. Their customer service is terrible. You will get the AI empathy messages, but it is all a front. You cannot speak to anyone in person without calling overseas. Online chats lasted hours without getting anywhere. Free cancellation does not mean free amendment. I made a 7 night booking 14 months ahead and had to pay 55% deposit. 8 months out I requested a change from 7 nights to 5 nights. "Free cancellation" is a trap. NEVER amend a booking, just cancel and start again, assuming your are within the required period. I paid $1300 in service fees, no partial refund, and an extra $300 in host fees for nights I did not even stay.
To be avoided
As a frequent user of holiday rental platforms and carefully selecting properties, I rarely have a bad experience but I will be avoiding Bookabach in future. I had good reasons to write a negative review for a property booked through Bookabach/Vrbo and over two months after submitting it, it has not been published. I now see on other platforms that the reviews of the property I booked are poor, but on Bookabach the review score is relatively high, without the inclusion of actual reviews. In addition to the property having many inadequacies, Bookabach allowed their property manager (Stay Ltd. NZ in this case) to make unauthorised processing charges. Dealing with Bookabach Customer Support is a waste of time.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Every thing is fine so long as you don't have any issues.
We got ripped of by a scam Australian company called Tiny Away who seem to put prefab container homes on peoples' properties. Nothing was as advertised. Bookabach did nothing to help us, despite us having evidence of the false advertising.
Avoid like the plague
We stayed in an AirBNB managed to Bach Care. One of the worst experiences of our lives. When we arrived the place was filthy - Bach Care gave us the run around for 4-5 hours and ruined our evening. The agents have directly lied to us and they never call back despite promises. You always have to do the chasing with them. Avoid like the plague. We are still in dispute with them but they have gone radio silent and refuse to reply.
Impossible to access
I almost never got started with Bookabach, because the 'prove you are human' quizzes at the beginning are almost impossible. After 10 goes I got through.
Now, having read the reviews, I 'm glad they were so hard to access and I shall not be using Bookabach.
We stayed at one of their Bookabach…
We stayed at one of their Bookabach properties over the Christmas period. We ended up paying almost double the standard rate for that time of year, and we're not talking about a small sum of money.
This may have been overlooked if the standard of the house matched the rate, but fell short by a very long way.
Due to the lack of choices in the area that we needed to be I reluctantly accepted the rate, but we (two families) were very shocked at the tiredness of the property given what we were paying. I found out afterwards what I should have paid.
I emailed the managing director twice to air my views but no response! They took the money and ran.
For the above reasons I would totally avoid this company in the future when booking a holiday.
Nelson close to pix
Property we were due to stay at would not refund or part refund us due to ferry cancellations, It was innelson city, close to pix peanut butter. defnitely do your research and do not use this lady if you can avoid it, what a horrible person with no ethics or morals
Bookabach not to be trusted.
Booked property. Description was so far from the truth. Dangerous, glass on the lawn, bunk beds damaged. Gas in bbq empty.
Refund promised, no such luck. Bookabach blocks bad reviews!
Privacy and Security Breach. Lying Management.
Stayed at 2 bachcare properties in 2 different locations. Both had issues and when I call for the issues to be rectified, the staff are super rude. Don't not stay in any Bachcare properties.
We had a serious privacy and security breach at 1 of the properties where their staff turned up in the backyard next to the spa unannounced whilst we are in the property. Second place was advertised that the bed could be split into 2 singles. When I called the Bachcare the Guy lied on the phone and said it doesn't split. It was written clearly in the airbnb website which is why we booked it in the first place. Book with Bachcare if you want to be lied to and have your privacy breached by unannounced staff arrival turning up in your backyard whilst you are in the spa.
Misleading, false advertising, fraud
Booked a property recently and at the time of booking it clearly states 'you will not be charged yet'
I booked, and got charged in full. We are not staying at the property until 6 weeks away. I called bookabach to try figure this out & the lady I spoke with was so rude, she would not honor what their website clearly states, when I asked her if she consented to our call being recorded, she hung up on me. Total fraudsters. False advertising, illegal behavior.
