Do not buy bookman products

In May 2025, I purchased a light that failed within a very short time due to a broken on/off button. I contacted Bookman’s customer service via their website and received a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement unit also failed by the end of the this month with the exact same defect. When I requested a refund, Bookman’s customer service completely stopped responding. I attempted to open a new support ticket, but never received any reply. This behavior is highly unprofessional, and the product quality is shockingly poor. The product is extremely unreliable, and based on this experience, I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this manufacturer.

It is advertised that 1500 light last…

It is advertised that 1500 light last for 3 hours on the brightest setting. After several tests, I found out that it only last around 1 hour 50 minutes. Also, before buying the light I was assured by the company that due to the bypass charging property, the light could be operated with an external battery on the brightest setting. Again after testing the light with several external power banks and cable, I found out that this claim is also not fully correct. While the light charges while it is on, the amount of power it draws from the batter is so low that it does not make any significant change in running times. The light turns itself off on the brightest setting when connected to the external power bank around 2 hours 10 minutes which is only 20 minutes longer than when the light is not connected on the power bank. Furthermore, the light turns itself off momentarily when it gets road vibrations. I raised these concerns with the company before my night riding event and was told that I will get a replacement light. I asked them to ship the replacement light using the fastest shipment method. Seven days past since the communication not only they failed to ship the light, they also did not respond my message.

Poor product and no resolution

Several individuals have raised concerns regarding the light’s functionality. I experienced a similar issue shortly after receiving my light. It failed to power on and produced excessive noise. Despite my continuous efforts to communicate with customer service through email, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. They have requested that I submit videos as evidence, which I have done multiple times. However, the response process is slow due to the part-time nature of their customer service department. The overall experience has been extremely frustrating, and I have yet to find a solution.

Bad customer experience - the item was never received

Ordered on December 27th. today January 17th, the item is still not received. UPS could not deliver and the item was returned to the sender. I never have any problem being delivered and my address was correct.
I asked for a refund but i have no answer from customer support. I only received an email to drop a review....DONE and I wish I read the reviews on Trustpilot before buying. Not a serious brand

The light isn't up for the task in…

The light isn't up for the task in rainy conditions, after the first ride in the rain I couldn’t turn it off again. After removing the battery it never turned on again. The nice adjustment knob is really cool but all the grid of the rain spatters made it crunchy and hard to operate, the gopro mount can’t hold the position of the light. Bottomline is that the light is not ready to be on the market.
The reason for that is that I did get a replacement and that is even worse it just turns off on bumpy roads, just at time you actually need the road surface lit

Poor Communication and Lack of Customer Care

I ordered from Bookman and received the order confirmation, but after two days of silence, I reached out to inquire about the status of my package. I was then told that the warehouse was backed up, which added to the delay, and they asked if I still wanted the package. This left me uncertain if my order was actually going to be shipped at all.

Despite their promise to prioritize the package, I heard nothing for several more days, even though I reached out five times for updates. The lack of transparency and communication throughout this process was incredibly frustrating, especially since the order was meant to be a gift. There was no mention on their website about delays, which would have at least set expectations upfront.

No compensation or goodwill gesture was offered for the inconvenience, leaving me highly dissatisfied with their service. Based on this experience, I will not be ordering from Bookman again, and I cannot recommend them to others.

Poor product quality and professional refund process

I ordered a few products; Curve Front Light, Block Light Rear and Lightstick. Upon unwrapping the package, I was disappointed by the overall quality of the items. The issues primarily revolved around production quality and the level of quality assurance.

To elaborate, the main plastic material used for these products seemed lacking the durability and premium feel I anticipated. Additionally, the molded rubber covers for recharging appeared imprecise and didn’t align well with the product's overall build. There were noticeable imperfections in various details, such as the imprecise position of chagrining light indicator and visible (small) scratches on the surfaces.

Unfortunatel, I'm not able to attach images to back up this with visuals. Also, promo images on the web and overall branding is quite misleading.

On the other hand I had great experience with support and refund processes provided. While the support was a bit sluggish in response times, the team diligently addressed all my inquiries, and the refund process was hassle-free and efficient. It's these positive interactions that prevented me from assigning a lower score to my overall experience.

Very good product which you should to wait

Two weeks have passed since payment for the flashlight and the order status is still "Unfulfilled" - and no updates.
For me, it looks quite weird, looks like a scam

Anyway, after almost 3 weeks, I received a flashlight! And it is very good: stylish, good quality of all buttons, and switchers, nice soft touch. Good soft flashing mode and wonderful power in 1500 lumen

My Ups and Downs with Bookman Bike Lights

I was very satisfied with my first set of Bookman bicycle lights, which were excellent in both design and durability, lasting for five years. They were conveniently small yet impressively bright.

Encouraged by this, I purchased the Block Light as a replacement. Unfortunately, this experience hasn't been as positive. The first unit malfunctioned within three months. Although customer service was initially responsive and provided a replacement promptly, the new light failed again after just six months. Additionally, the front light's battery life is disappointingly short, requiring a recharge after every ride, which is quite inconvenient. The second unit stopped working entirely. Now, customer support is unresponsive. For lights costing over 50€, this has been a rather underwhelming experience.

Items not received and no refund

EDIT** Had my refund within hours of posting this review!

Ordered in nov 22 for christmas gifts. Items didn't arrive, they got stuck at customs before even left the country. I was told it was resolved but when the items still hadn't appeared I rechecked tracking and they had been returned to sender. I requested a refund in January and had no reply at all. First time that's happened in a long time!

I am so disappointed in my Bookman…

I am so disappointed in my Bookman Curve Front Light. It doesn't even last for ten minutes when fully charged.

Great lights for Scandinavian darkenss and the best customer service I could ask for

Best customer service I ever experienced and great products. I use the Bookman lights a lot. I live in Copenhagen, where bike is the main means of transportation, and where darkness is king during the long Scandinavian winters. I use the bookman curved lights and they make me super visible, resist the elements and the battery lasts long. I must say that I am blown away by the customer service of Bookman too. They are extremely service minded, kind and fast at helping. Kudos to the customer service team.

Happy user of 3+ years and counting

Super happy with the Curve 3 lights. After 3 years of using them every day, the USB charging port stopped working. I just emailed the customer service, sent them the broken light and got a new light for free! Amazing customer support, solid product.
