Amazing alarm worth the investment

I had a few issues when first setting up my alarm, but Boundary sorted them out for me very quickly. There customer service is amazing. As for the alarm it is amazing, I can monitor it whilst away, it tells me when some has disarmed it, you can also set it up to notify you that some has opened the door when the alarm is disarmed. Everything is controlled by your mobile phone, would highly recommend this alarm.

Simple hub freeze fix by a hardware reset

Apparently highly unusual hub freeze as a result of a firmware update was simply solved following advice from Customer Services to do a hardware reset using the obligatory unbent paper clip method. This worked instantly. The only downside is that this (so far rare ie once in 4 or 5 months) hiccup brought back memories of our initially difficult personal installation journey, of which I have written about in other reviews.

Once changes have been fully developed and tested, improvements will be rolled out remotely.

Tried installing out alarm system today…

Tried installing out alarm system today 6 hours later after 2 sensors failing, we managed to sort after resetting each of them. Got to the outdoor siren and it simply will not connect! Given up today so frustrating without any way of contacting a human being over a weekend.
Just like to add, our siren has been replaced thank you. All up and running now. Good customer service even.if it is online.

Great Service

Recently purchased a Large system. Im not the most technical person, but the online help was fast and faultless. System is up and running and really user friendly. I would Highly recomend the Boundary system.

Very pleased.

I have found my purchase to be a very good one. I have been looking for a smart alarm system for ages now but never pushed the button. I will admit I was pushed over the edge by a YouTube influencer who presented the product and it’s benefits in a really logical way. The large discount code on offer also made the purchase a no brainer as it then represented great value no as well.

Fast forward to receiving my new Boundary system. Great packaging and presentation. Set up really easy with a great app and everything was included for mounting all the kit.

I had one bad contact sensor which the support team sorted out for me after trying to get it to work via email.

So overall a great purchase and purchase experience. The kit looks and feels great and it all seems to work well.

Great system….a few tweaks could make it perfect!

Firstly let me start by saying I don’t normally complete these reviews. I brought the boundary alarm about three months ago, I was keen to upgrade an old wired system, and integrate with my smart home. I chose this system as it looks great, was adaptable and expandable, and provided remote and local security, and I could integrate with my Philips Hue and Sonos. The system was delivered quickly, and well packed, with excellent installation guide. Setting up the hub was quick and easy, I had nine sensors to set up, most of these were straight forward, although I had issues with two of them connecting. The guys at the support help desk were helpful in resolving this, and replaced two sensors quickly and without hassle or fuss. Their communication during this period were excellent and prompt. Overall my experience in the first three months has been excellent, I have found the system reliable, and has met my expectations. There are some pros and cons that are worth pointing out:

Pros
- sensors can be attached with screws or tape, and these are supplied with every sensor…and they work very well
- sensors provide individual temperatures in each room on the app (helps to manage your heating bills!)
- you can get activity alerts from any selected sensors…surprisingly useful
- easy to set up partial alarm system, totally adaptable to your own needs
- the app provides battery data for all sensors and sirens, so you know early on when batteries need changing
- many options on how to set/arm the alarm…app, fob, via hub, or a smart assistant (I tend to use the app)

Cons
- support are limited to weekdays and office hours only…an issue if you work weekdays away from home (not having a telephone number hasn’t really been a problem)
- you need a subscription to make the most of the system
- google home access is quite restricted (I can only work out how to fully alarm or switch off)

There are some improvements which I feel could make this system better

- an internal alarm siren
- an automated setting option, eg set nightly without having to manually set
- an option to reduce the arming time
- improve smart assistant integration

Overall I’ve been really impressed by the alarm system. Easy to use, adaptable, has a great app, and is very reliable. Not the cheapest alarm, but has many great features and looks great too…with a quality feel! My home feels much safer and more secure 24 hours a day thanks to the alarm’s features. I’m now looking at fitting the same alarm in my daughter’s new home.

It's really nice to read about your experience of deciding to go with us. Also, I'm glad to read about how happy you are with your system, the delivery, and the set up process. I'm glad we could help you efficiently when you needed that additional support too.

You've highlighted some excellent feedback in your review. In regards to your constructive suggestions:

- Our support times are currently Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm but we are carefully monitoring customer demand for additional support

- The reason that we currently charge a subscription is that we incur recurring costs for providing these features. Such as server hosting, plus our own firmware & software engineering teams who provide constant updates, not just for new features, but for cyber security etc too. Our system also deals with real-time notifications from every sensor, wether the system is armed or not, and each additional sensor paired with a system incurs more cloud charges to us. We've seen other companies who provide a 'bells only' product with a simple mobile app not charge a subscription and eventually fail because they have outgoings that one-off hardware purchases cannot cover. This then leaves their customers in the unfortunate position of having working hardware that will receive no updates for critical security fixes, new features etc, and a broken mobile app.

- Smart home integrations are key for us and we'll be expanding on these functionalities in the future

- We're currently looking at different options within the Boundary app to arm the alarm during the countdown, once fully developed and tested they should be released in the near future

It's really nice to read about how it's giving you peace of mind and you're enjoying the features.

I recently bought and installed the boundary alarm . I had a couple of small teething problems with customer service sorted straight away . Easy to use and great it tells you when you have left without setting alarm which you can do remotely from anywhere .
Will be adding to my alarm system very soon .

All good

Plumped for this system due to decent (discounted?) price and modest monthly fee. All arrived last week on time and in order. Elected for the self fitting option and easy enough to do and instructions pretty clear. App is extensive, easy to navigate and fit for purpose. Only slight gripe was the plug lead from hub is quite short so basically needs to be mounted directly above a lower wall socket so measure this up before getting the drill out!. I managed to snap the clip (my fault) on the Hub wall socket so Emailed Boundary to order a replacement and was expecting a small cost and postage charge. Within 10 minutes Joe got back to me to say a replacement was on its way free of charge so this was a welcome response and I guess demonstrates a prioritised customer focus rather than money money money so excellent job on this one. In its infancy of use but so far so good and no tech issues of concern. Would recommend all day long…

First class alarm system.…

Everything about this product & service is of the highest quality. Alarm system arrived well packaged in timely manner & was easy to install.
Very impressed with the app & how it integrates with the system, easy to arm & disarm & various settings to customise eg pets & partial arming of property.
Called customer service for some advise, Leslie was excellent, first class, patient & helpful.
Premium product & service for a very reasonable price.

Excellent System

Bought a numberof different components a i didnt want a wired alarm . ALso with an app controlling it i felt that gav me the best flexibility. With more than a couple of sensors you do need to subscribe to their service to get alarm notifications but tbh when I had a wired system I paid more than that for my annual maintenance contract so it really isnt an issue.

Very very flexible in where you put it and easy to work out what you need using their configurtion tool to select the right items.

Only a couple of weeks in and it seems to be fine - had a couple of support type questions and the team at Bundary responded promptly.

Customer service is good ...

Giving one star is too generous

Giving one star is too generous. Bought this product last week due to a YouTuber recommendation and 50% off. When it came it looked really smart and well packaged. That’s the only good news. Having set up the Hub I tried to install the sensors (10 Window sensors) it took me over 24hours and I still have three that don’t work. I then tried the Motion sensors and out of 5 I have only been able to get 3 set up. The Hub refuses to set them up and then gets stuck in a perpetual reboot request. The QR code doesn’t work on the Window Sensors. The product is quite frankly rubbish and not easy to install. Yes it’s easy to stick the sensors to the wall, no it’s not easy to get it working properly. Disappointed beyond belief.

Really easy system to install

Really easy system to install! Went for this company as we wanted to support a smaller and newer competitor in the smart security market.

We had a small issue where 1 item was not delivered but a quick email and they sent off the item and have now received it.

2 motion sensors did not want to play ball, but both have now been replaced and all is working amazingly!

It's great price of mind knowing that you can monitor your house alarm system from your phone and being able to arm/disarm it so quickly is great!

Overall very happy :)
