slow response customer service
I have been overcharge in two occasions in a row when I visit the store in Walsall. Their system did not marked there is extra discount on the product. So I wrote a complaint e-mail to customer service in which receive a response within a day but then the follow up e-mail I still did not receive or receive any call from anyone from Boundary. it is quiet Saturday and I did see the staff are chatting to each other quite often. I am say every time I am in the store and I can feel they don't interested to serving the customer. There is less bargain in store after redecoration. Not a good experience at all

Wheelchair Accessibilty Response
A 5 star review for the customer service response to my query. As a wheelchair user with a wheelchair accessible vehicle I need to have a disable parking spot that allows me to unload my chair down the ramp and then safely enter the store. The Catcliffe branch had disabled bays outside the store, but no way to get from your vehicle to the store unless you drop the ramp onto the pavement. A dropped kerb for wheelchair access to the pavement would be useful as otherwise it means going behind parked cars on the road, which is not safe. Boundary Mills acknowledged my concerns and sent me a response straight away. Hopefully there will be some adjustments made to accommodate this.
I have shopped for many years at boundary Mill…
I have shopped for many years at Boundary Mill, Shiremoor, and have not complained before, however, today was a different matter. Not with the on floor staff but with customer service. I shopped on the 05/08/23. Having spent over £300.00, on Sanderson bedding, I did not check my receipt until two days later, where found two of the four identical pillow cases were priced £3 more each than the other two. I rang the store and explained the problem. This person was very polite and after taking the details promised someone would call me later that day.
This did not happen, so I called this morning, only to told their policy was no one calls back on the same day, in such away, like it was my fault.
After explaining the problem, my receipt was downloaded and checked, I was told that it was right, I had two housewife pillow cases and two Oxford, and again her tone indicated that I was in the wrong.
I said no the receipt was wrong. She then to me she would look into it and call me back.
I immediately checked the packaging, mostly because this person made me feel I was in the wrong. The pillow cases have identical details,
housewife design, and the price tickets are £19.80 each None of them were marked with a price of £22.80.
When this person called me back she confirmed what she had said earlier again making me feel I was in the wrong. On disagreeing with her once again and telling her details of the items , she then told Me I would have to photograph the items and send them. Once again making me feel I was out to get something for nothing. I told her that if I wanted to rob someone I would go for a lot more than £6.
I then told her to forget the whole thing because. I did not like being made to feel that I was out to get something for nothing. I was not the one at fault, and yet I was the one made to feel in the wrong. Good manners and perhaps an apology would not have been amiss.
I would advise anyone shopping at this store to check their receipt befor leaving I will think twice about shopping at this store again.
Busy Sunday but flowing well
Went to Colne Sunday and M&S still had 10% off so car park was very busy but inside it was flowing really well so no problems using an electric mobility chair. Enjoyed a small scone with a cuppa. (Previous brownies were too small but their cake and, especially, millionaire shortbread, offers are great when on.) Stocked up on cards and jumpers this time (come on weather).
Perfume shop
Came for a visit today and was blown away by the service I received at the perfume shop, the store is a credit to you. Also the coffee shop was perfect, sandwich cake and coffee were delicious and we will definitely be back. Thanks to the lady with ginger hair in the perfume shop and also Paul on the entrance, he is very polite and happy, a joy to walk into.
Helpful staff
I had had previously terrible problems with the boundary mill app which even store managers and head office had been unable to resolve. As I was queuing to pay in the Newcastle Boundary Mill I was asked if I had the app by Fred a host. I explained why I hadn’t and Fred offered to help. I just gave him my phone and after a while he had succeeded in successfully installed it. So I had the introductory 10% discount to use. My server, Tom was also very helpful so I had a great time. As always some good buys.

Don't know what is happening in this store... staff in Customer service dismissive looked like she was there on sufferance was more interested in having a joke with colleagues than service. Went in the cafe...... even worse appalling service and presentation....
BOUNDARY MILL IS A JOKE
THIS IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE REVIEW!! (Posted On Indeed Also.)
During my time at Boundary Mill I worked both in retail and hospitality. Both experiences were awful.
Retail/Concession
To begin with, I was never given a contract or anything that resembled one. I didnt receive any training or information regarding how to merchandise/place orders/deal with requests/what a sales bin meant or how it worked/my entitlements like breaks/writing rotas etc - just to name a few - most of which was the bosses job, NOT MINE. I was never checked in on, always worked alone and was left to fend for myself without any prior experience. The bosses seemed to always be unavailable whether that be a holiday or ‘business trip’. Communication only happened when I initiated it and even then it was unhelpful; this included numerous occasions where I had to query underpayments and was accused of lying.
The neighbouring concession staff were standoff-ish and intimidated instead of friendly and approachable.
At the age of 16, this was, as you can imagine, very confusing and scary, so as a result of my exit interview, I got part of the concession itself kicked out of the store due to terrible management.
This took a major toll on my self-confidence which has now resulted in frequent, anxiety driven stuttering because of the horrid and unprofessional behaviour of my then bosses.
The Hive/Hospitality
Whilst working in the Hive I encountered some issues with tax. Expecting to receive help and guidance from payroll and HR, I was grossly dismissed and my queries were disregarded, forcing me, at 17, to navigate through an issue I had no knowledge about.
More recently, I have seen a dramatic (and rightly-so) decrease in staff both shop floor and hospitality. Everyone left to keep the doors open were and still are, shown 0 respect, appreciation or acknowledgement but instead get dealt Prosecco and nibbles events as well as Pimms with no warning or explanation - leaving the remaining staff with hundreds of frustrated customers standing and waiting for strawberry’s to be cut etc. This was due to no time for preparation and deliveries hadn’t been done to accommodate the demands, meaning we have (on several occasions) resorted to going to the local Asda for the necessities; eg - strawberries and milk in particular.
I want to emphasise that this is not to discredit the hard work and immense effort put in by the staff you as customers see on a daily basis, but some transparency as to the kind of situation you are walking into when you visit the store.
I wish I could say that they care about the welfare of their staff but it is evidently the opposite! The Bannisters themselves are clearly oblivious to the downfall of their empire even when taking visits to The Hive and other departments.
I’d like to say I would never shop there after knowing the laughable state the branch is in, but they do carry some good deals. However, I would definitely not recommend shopping, supporting or working for Boundary Mill! DON’T BOTHER.
Pros - N/A
Cons - Everything!
Great member of staff!!
Boundary Mills is a funny type of shop but every so often I pop over to Shiremoor and pick up some.odds and ends. Yesterday I bought a few items of clothing and had forgotten my 10%discount card. Not a lot I know but it helps. Anyway a member of staff said download the app. Not easy when the signal is rubbish but then enters a fab staff member called Glen, he walked me through getting on the WiFi downloading the app. Sorting my details.and voila 10% discount!! He was a lovely person to deal with and I'm very grateful to him. Thanks again Glen!!
Great Customer Service
Big shout out for Sara in the shoe department at Walsall Boundary Mill - amazingly patient with my elderly mum who has ‘difficult’ feet, not only did she help my Mum with fastening and adjusting the shoes, but she suggested an alternative that we would probably not have looked at without her guidance and they suited my Mum and the occasion she wants them for perfectly. Thank you Sara we will be back to see you again.

Bad day at Walsall store!
What a terrible day we had today at the Walsall store. After travelling all the way from Derby we decided to get something to eat before shopping. Well, what a disappointing experience in the café. There was a choice of 4 packets of boring sandwiches, a few cakes that looked as if they had seen better days and virtually no hot food. The refrigerator wasn't working and after finding a few sad pieces of food to eat and queuing up at the checkout I was told that the till was not accepting Mastercard. I had no cash so initially left my food at the till. The cashier said there was a cash machine so I left the queue and managed to get enough cash to enable me to queue up again and retrieve my meal.
We decided to put this experience behind us and do some serious shopping. After a couple of hours we pushed our heaped trolley to the checkout and the Cashier rang the items through the till. I inserted my card and guess what? I'm sorry sir the machine is not accepting Mastercard today. I was despairing after all the queuing, there was no sign in the queue warning of the problem. I said "well you might as well keep the lot as I have no other way of paying" "Don't worry sir" I was told there's a cash machine at the other end of the store. I walked back to the rear of the store just to find a lady fixing an "Out of Order" sign to the cash machine.
I decided this was the time to leave and vowed that I would never return. If you need help in running an efficient store with excellent choices of food I suggest that you bring some staff over from Grantham where things are done properly.
Returning shoes that won't fit me
Having returned back to boundarymill to take my shoes back it was a pleasure being served by a young girl called LEISA and she eventually found the exact shoes to fit me this time many thanks to the great service and being well treated will certainly return again for anything I require
Excellent customer service
I have just visited boundary Mill today looking for a dress I had previously seen in the whistles department unfortunately I couldn't find it so thought that they had all sold out a lady who worked on the department called same asked if she could help and I described what the dress looked like and she went and checked the stock room for me and managed to find one in my size! I was delighted and thrilled to receive such excellent customer service she deserves recognition!
