Tried to book an EV charger installation. Initially they approved for next day installation but then moved it on the point of confirmation. I was able to find an earlier date with an alternative supplier so requested a cancellation.
Have been waiting a week for even an acknowledgement of the cancellation which is yet to materialise. Online chat support then suggests it will be at least 10 working days from when when the cancellation is acknowledged.
Currently out of pocket by more than £1k with no commitment from Boxt as to when it will be refunded.

Fab air con installation via BOXT
Great couple of guys who installed our air con. They worked really hard to complete the job. Jamie was very knowledgeable. He and his colleague were tidy workers and delivered the solution that we wanted. Would throughly recommend them.

Fixed upfront pricing is good. Good choice of boiler and everything gas safe approved.
However, after initial install communication was poor and threatening. Boxt didn't want to be involved 2 monthes afterwards when boiler had a problem, I had to rely on manufacturer to sort it out.

I had and still having a very rough journey during and post installation of solar panels, I hoped for quick response time on reported issues.
Avoid
Avoid. They offer next week installation, take your money and then phone up to move your appointment back by 5 weeks and try change systems you have ordered to a lesser brand, It's all intentional, the dates they offer on their website are an absolute lie - it's just to get you to book and take your money they have zero intention of honouring that appointment and they literally have a team of people calling up every customer after booking to give them their real appointment time weeks later. Dishonest companies make my skin crawl.

From ordering to installation.
From ordering to installation, placing the order and arranging a date for installation was very easy. The only real problem was taking the photos and uploading them. Like most companies these days, they assume everybody has the equipment and knows how to do this. I very nearly cancelled the order at this
point. A friend stepped in and did it for me. The engineer arrived on time; I showed him what he wanted to see, and he said right I will crack on and he did. He is a very polite, clean and tidy worker. Except for the new boiler on the wall, you would not know he had been here.
I write this not just as a customer but also as a retired electrician and registered domestic installer. I worked with many plumbers installing boilers. I wish more of them had been as clean and tidy as Kevin is.

I have mixed feelings about BOXT…
I have mixed feelings about BOXT because different parts of the business are completely different experiences.
Installing a new boiler: 10/10. The whole process was excellent. The quotation was straightforward, the installation was quick and professional, and everything was taken care of from start to finish. I couldn't fault it.
Annual servicing: 9/10. Booking a yearly service has always been easy and the engineers have been professional. No complaints there.
Breakdown cover and repairs: Unfortunately, this is where everything falls apart. I also pay for their insurance cover for heating, radiators and related repairs, and the experience has been incredibly frustrating.
The app is poor, with jobs remaining marked as outstanding even after visits. Communication is almost non-existent. Emails often go unanswered, and when you do manage to report a problem, you're left chasing for updates. We've been waiting for what appears to be a standard replacement part, yet nobody keeps us informed about what's happening or when it will be resolved.
When an engineer eventually arrives, the work itself is fine. The real issue is everything around it: the lack of communication, the delays, and the difficulty of getting any meaningful response from customer services.
So my overall view is simple:
New boiler installation: 10/10
Annual servicing: 9/10
Breakdown and repair service: 0/10
I'd happily recommend BOXT to anyone buying a new boiler, but based on my experience I couldn't recommend their breakdown cover. The difference in service between installation and aftercare is enormous, and that's a real shame because the company clearly has the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience when it chooses to.

Slightly disappointed by the experience
The workman were friendly and helpful but very untidy, very messy. It was booked as a two day job to install the new boiler. Tools left everywhere at the end of the first day and looked a real mess in the utility room where the boiler was being installed. I ended up taking about half of the old boiler system and old water tanks to the local re-cycling centre because they didn't want to take it away. Only interested in the metal components that they could probably sell for scrap. Used my dogs towels to mop up water that they had spilled. A couple of holes they put thru the walls did not get sealed up.
On a plus side the boiler seems to be working perfectly. Although they were not able to help me set up the Hive hub so that I can use the app from my phone to control the boiler.
