Our trip was organised by BHS and they were great.
They were very clear, informing us of the various options and add-ons for the safari to booking internal flights, accommodation. BHS were on the end of the phone if we had any questions which meant we started our trip relaxed and excited.

BHS has been so amazing. Not only did we have the most perfect stay at Africa on Foot, the entire team was so helpful and involved before, during and after our trip. When I contacted them about planning a trip, both Brett Horley and Jo cooper were extremely helpful and friendly. Jo sent me multiple itineraries and was always checking in with me to see what I liked or didn't like about each lodge. Through that process we found the perfect place for our 4 night trip! It was more than we asked for or could've hoped for, honestly a gem we probably wouldn't have stumbled upon on our own. The booking process was absolutely seamless and so easy. I felt like I barely had to lift a finger! And when we arrived at our lodge there was a beautiful welcome packet there waiting for us. The team was always a text or email away at all times. And we will definitely be contacting them for our next safari adventure!

BHS aranged our trip through South Africa and Victoria Falls. To say that it was well done is an understatement. Everything from the Safari at The Siviti Lodge, to our historical run around Cape Town, as well as the wonder that is Victoria Falls, everything was top flight and well arraged. I will be using them again.

BHS has organized for us a tremendous stay in south africa, with 2 different stays in Timbavati reserve.
Of course, the safari experience has been for all our family (3 adults, 2 children of 5 and 9 YO) was incredible, but i also want here to highlight the servcies of BHS, very reactive for any question we could have durieng our stay, always quickly available, and concerned about us.

BHS Safari Co arranged a beautiful safari experience for myself and my daughter. We stayed at Siviti for five gorgeous days, during which a herd of 200+ buffalo visited the waterhole in front of the dining area, along with elephants, warthogs, giraffes and nyala. Morning and afternoon drives treated us to the most amazing leopard and lion sitings and we even got to chilax with a herd of elephants. The staff at the lodge were knowledgeable and service was in top. Being a vegetarian I was super impressed with the flavors and creativity the chefs infused our meals with, to the point that I suggested they offer the vegetarian options to all guests, as it could be a real differentiator. The villas where huge and offered a beautiful santuary for us to chilax.
I am recommending BHS Safari Co to my friends and family, and they will definately be arranging another safari for us in the future!

Firstly Geraldine was recommended to us by fellow travellers on a previous trip in Europe. She surpassed any expectations we had, nothing was too much trouble day or night. Together we planned our route and chose the various lodges for us to stay. Being UK based we incurred extra charges for making multiple payments and not all in one payment.
We organised our own flights but as soon as we landed we knew we were in safe hands when our driver and knowledgeable guide Rama met us holding a sign with our name upon.
Perhaps a heads up on how bumpy the roads during our travels would be could have been useful but that was really the only expectation that we hadn't bargained for. The drives were at times as thrilling as meeting the wild animals. We had a great rapport with Rama to ensure we all knew what was ahead for that day as sometimes we moved on to another base lodge. We covered numerous national parks which provided us with different terrain and animals/birds each day. Highly recommended to do this if you can.
The lodges were luxurious for this particular trip and didn't disappoint with great welcomes. Some providing excellent quality and tasting food and others excelling in for instance the "pillows "!and location of the lodge.
Perhaps a tip for first timers would be to be prepared to walk on sandy/dusty paths amongst the wild animals at night with torches and a guide to get to and from dinner, no heels or smart clothing required on this venture.
Geraldine continued her communications with us right up to boarding our reluctant flight home.
Lodges
* Arusha Coffee Lodge - ideal first stop to settle into African chilled way of life and great coffee Plantation tour.
* Elewana Tarangire Treetops, Tarangire National Park- Beautiful communal recessed lounge and firepit overlooking a watering hole and Masi warrior welcome at the lodge.
* & Beyond, Lake Manyara tree Lodge- Best food by far, exquisitely cooked Tuna fish steak and chicken by the fire, fabulous singing welcome. Only downsides was the horrendously bumpy and at times no existent dirt track to get to the lodges (after recent rains washed them away and not replaced), well done to Rama to getting us there in one piece. They did win our award for best tasting packed lunch!
* Four Season Serengeti- Felt like a hotel, lots more people, ideal for the first timer or timid safari goer in luxurious setting. Amazing views over the waterhole and staff couldn't do enough for us but watch when you book and ask for waterhole view as it could be a stretch to see it from your balcony. Some are right Infront of it and others at the far right have their won private waterhole which most of the animals prefer to use as they don't have to venture past the rocks where the lions tend to reside. ideal base should you want a cleaner more civilised safari with a hotel feel and not a tent in sight.
ideal balcony to enjoy when not going out on a drive, for a chill morning listening and viewing the many birds flying around and animals wandering by. For anyone who doesn't want to go into a jeep for a drive, the animals are right there within the grounds , the hotels is built within the park. They have the BEST pillows and beds I've ever slept on and I'm fussy. id love to know where to purchase these pillows so please dm me @fourseasons. Largest breakfast variety but would be expected in a hotel style accommodation.
*Lemala Kuria Hills, Wogakuria Hills (near the great migration crossing - Great plunge pools on the balcony but as the lodges are in the middle of the hills teaming with wild animals we didnt feel relaxed enough to lay for a long time on the balcony. Big cats had been seen around the rocks just outside the balcony and we had to be escorted for safety to and from our lodge day or night. Our first night we bumped into a grumpy water buffalo but made it fine to our lodge. Most occasions we were arriving after a full days travel or game drive and therefore it was dusk or dark which for us was unnerving not knowing what was outside or our bearings at a new lodge so this could be something to be mindful of. Best sunset with bubbly on these hills was enjoyed. Ideal location for the great migration. We were lucky enough to see and capture it on the first morning but had booked3 nights in this area to ensure we had the best chance of viewing this natural phenomenon. In hindsight we could have booked a further night in Tarangire Park area as there was lots to see and one less night in the north. LKH provided us with the most authentic packed lunch box made from banana leaves/bark.
* Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury lodge on the hillside of the lush rainforest surrounding the valleys of the rim.- fabulous Masi dancing welcome. Lush well tended gardens, elephant herds just at the base of the lodge. Food let this paradise down sadly not up to same level.

We have recently returned from a week in Tanzania organised by Geraldine at BHS Safari. I cannot fault the trip, the planning and Geraldine. Geraldine, you were fantastic. Thank you so much for your help, support, guidance and encouragement too.

Jo at BHS Safari Co planned our bucket list, trip of a lifetime adventure to Africa. Jo made sure we were able to experience Uganda (trekking to the gorillas), Tanzania (Ngorngoro Crater & the Seregenti), and Nairobi, Kenya. He built the perfect itinerary for my husband and I to see it all. Jo helped us start planning about 15 months out. He answered all of my emails and was available for FaceTime meetings regarding the itinerary, packing list, etc. Jo/BHS staff were also available via email and WhatsApp while we were in Africa should we have needed anything. Needless to say, we didn't need anything. Everything ran so smooth and perfect. We did continue to text to let them know we were having the BEST time. I highly recommend having Jo / BHS Safari Co. be on your side when planning a trip to Africa. Jo warned us on our first itinerary meeting that we wouldn't just be coming to Africa once. He's right. We look forward to asking Jo to help us plan another trip in 2026. Thank you Jo!!

BHS, and Jo in particular, helped create the trip of a lifetime for our family of seven. The twelve nights we spent in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana were remarkable. Jo listened to our ideas and desires, then crafted an itinerary that met all our expectations and budget. Jo was responsive and took ownership and action when our itinerary was altered due to forces beyond BHS's control. Having Jo and BHS available was reassuring and comforting for our first trip to Africa. The only negative was an unexpected hotel change upon arrival in Victoria Falls, which may be more of a sign on how things operate there. Our safari lodges were top-rate, with Siviti providing us with Big 5 sightings beyond imagination. Our trip far exceeded our expectations thanks to Jo and BHS. We will definitely use BHS again should we be fortunate enough to return to Africa.

BHS and my contact Maki created a fantastic Safari experience for me. This was my first Safari experience, and I didn’t know what I really wanted or what to expect. After talking it through with Maki and reviewing a few options, I selected two of her recommendations for safari camps. My first allowed for bushwalking and educational content along with traditional game drives, which turned out to be a perfect introduction for me to the Safari experience. My second lodge was a wonderful complement and provided exceptional sightings of every animal I could have asked for. Before the trip, I got expert advice on what to bring and how to prepare. And all throughout the trip I felt supported and cared for. As a woman traveling solo, that was extremely valuable for me. It wasn’t just like a business transaction. Plus everything went off without a hitch and exceeded my greatest expectations. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this trip was and the great service that BHS provided. I will certainly use them on my next trip and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting an exceptional Safari experience. The highest possible rating from me.

The process from start to finish was absolutely seamless!

Geraldine, was an absolute dream to work with and curated an amazing trip allowing us to have some downtime in some lodges and incredible game drives in others (the sightings were INCREDIBLE!). She was always just a message away to help answer any questions, check in on our day and for us to also keep her updated with our sightings due to her genuine love for the animals and wildlife.

Marcus, who was with us for all our transfers (airports and to and from our different lodges) was an absolute SUPERSTAR! We felt safe and comfortable with him from the moment we met him at the airport. He has a genuine passion for the wildlife and love for people. It was so lovely to catch up with him during every pickup and he really did help make the trip feel even more special. He won't above and beyond for us and really is a genuinely lovely member of the team.

I unfortunately fell ill whilst on the trip with bronchitis and the BHS Safari team went above and beyond to ensure I had the correct medication and felt comfortable during my stay, I really couldn’t have asked for a more attentive team to be in contact with, especially when so far from home.

We had the most incredible experience in South Africa and I am counting down the days until my husband lets me book our next trip to go back!

It’s hard to know where to start - put simply, we are blessed to travel several times a year but the itinerary you organised was hands down the best holiday we have had.

I think we were incredibly lucky in many regards (mating lions, watching cheetahs, wild dogs, a pride of lions snacking on 3 buffalo carcasses, following two leopards mating for over 1.5 hours, watching two leopard cubs and a their mum who were trapped for two day up separate trees with a hungry pack on lions and hyenas waiting underneath, and so many elephants in thorny bush). I think we were in part lucky but equally it is very much down to you for picking the right locations and the right time.

As you described - each lodge was different and unique. We were so pleased we visited all three.

Tangala - best for wildlife and the guides were truly experts (and were great fun too). Awesome view from the lodge.

Bateler - best accommodation and lodge facilities. A very accommodating and relaxing vibe. The opportunity to get out of the vehicle and do a walking safari was brilliant. One of the spotters, Lucky - his bush craft session was inspiring.

Thambo - best food and also amazing wildlife experience. Very lucky to see the predicators in full force. Plus the amazing sundowner experience organised by you. (Jo organised a special surprise private sundowner experience for my wife's 40th birthday - a table for two in the bush with drinks, flowers and candle light! magical).

Thank you for making the whole experience simply perfect.

Geraldine planned our honeymoon in Tanzania for us, tailoring it to best suit our budget and explaining all her choices so that we were confident that we were booking the best possible option for our dates, budget and interests. She was extremely patient whilst we dithered and provided great communication throughout the whole experience. Once on our trip, the safari was absolutely incredible. Our guide Ramahdan was fabulous, so knowledgable and eager to give us the best possible experience. We saw so many animals and also absolutely loved all the scenery too. We really enjoyed staying in different lodges/camps and moving every couple of days in order to see the most. I should also add that we got multiple quotes from different places before booking with Geraldine, and this was the best price by far and the quality was definitely not compromised. We would 100% recommend booking with Geraldine and BHS!
