Joel - Brightpay Cloud
Joel was great in helping to decide whether the move to Brightpay Cloud was the right choice and made sense from a client/financial perspective for my firm.
He was extremely personable and patient in walking me through the options and was very responsive when I had any late/last minute queries.
I left BrightPay and use Payroll Manager instead saving thousands!
In March 2025 I went to renew the BP software but the price was hiked up and we were told that our costs for 2026-27 would more than triple from £750 to £2,500!
We have since used Payroll Manager by Moneysoft and have saved thousands in the process. I don't get how BP think they can charge that much.
No doubt the reply will be "we are committed to blah blah blah" but ultimately the alternatives out there are equally as good and a fraction of the price.

Surprising price change and a free alternative
The software is fairly good, not quite as simple and easy as payroll manager (moneysoft) and equivalents.
My issue is, we purchased the desktop version last year and now we are being asked to pay a lot more to migrate to the cloud. And pay per payslip/employee which we have never had to do before. (big monthly subscriptions)
We have had to source an alternative which is always a work up but and I am so glad we did. If things go as well as I expect with Collegia Free Payroll. Yes its free. Unlimited employees and completes auto enrollment within its product - allowing to be a free payroll service.
So smart, so simple and more control.
