BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES!!!
Buying a property at auction, I was charged an extra £1,500 by SDL.
So I was already aware that there is buyers auction fees, the sellers search fees, the sellers auction fees and the sellers legal fees, plus stamp duty of course and your own legal fees. This extra £1,500 came as a surprise, as I had already paid £1,500 auction fee on the fall of the hammer! I even got the invoice stating this, with PAID stamped across it!
When challenged by my solicitor, SDL said that the £1,500 was commission!
It had been mislabelled! Wow! What a rip off!!! Not happy about that!

Can’t recommend this company enough. I spoke with Scott who appraised my situation accurately within minutes and gave really good, honest advice. No sales pitch, cut through all the c@@p and restored my faith in people operating in the property market. If I needed an auctioneer in the future this company would be my first call.

When I decided to sell a property through auction (which was a completely new thing to me!), the first thing that struck me was the level of communication I received from the team at SDL which really helped make the process stress free.

Our contacts through the sale at SDL were Scott Light, Sally Bull and Sam Rashid who were always on the end of the phone if I had any queries and I found nothing but a professional approach with dedication from day one, right until we'd completed the sale.

Recently needed to sell family home and looked at options for doing so, settling on selling by Auction.
Not knowing a thing about the Auction process or how it works, i was a little apprehensive, I needent of been. Contacted SDL auctions and met Scott Light who put me at ease about the whole process, explained everything clearly, the stages and best options for my situation. Scott was confident and reasuring in his manner
Before contacting SDL i contacted a number of local solicitors and settled on one to handle conveyancing side and legal pack. It was soon evident that the solicitors i selected had little idea of the auction process and its need for quick completion.
Contacted Sarah Miles who suggested another firm of solicitors, who were excellent.
As you would expect, there were hiccups along the way, but Sarah and her team, took care of everything. Communication was also superb, letting me know how the process was progressing, at all stages.
SDL and the team were exemplary from start to finish, would i use them again, would i recommend them, absolutely yes.

Brilliant company. I failed to log on when my lot was due to be sold so operative phoned me and I bid by phone. We had a software outage during sale and company handled it and rearranged sale for two days later

I wasn't happy with the treatment I received from Mr Christopher on my plot KG22 Gateacres Liverpool hence my disaffection and dissatisfy with SDL Property Auctions. He went out extra mile to deceive me. Hence my rejection of the auction conducted on yesterday 31st November 2025.
