Decent concept but some things to note

Buckt was coming to my local area and for a £15 introductory offer I thought I'd give it a go. The concept is decent, you pay for a subscription and get 5 activities to book in your local area; it does take the pain from looking for activities but there are some mighty large caveats with this.

First, when you sign up you don't get your activities until the start of the following month. Personally I don't mind this, but they delayed mine for another month on top of that. I gather this isn't the norm but it does mean depending when you sign up you will be waiting until the start of the next month.

Second, they decided not to roll out to my area after all. I was called by a nice member of staff to alert me of this and they offered me another city. In principle this shouldn't be a problem and if you're in a well established Buckt area then you won't have the same issue. For me this meant another hour of travel and even then the activities weren't actually in that city. That said, when you come to actually booking the activities, some let you book in a different city though I'm not sure if this is frowned upon.

Third, you randomly get activities and it's a mix bag. I had a VR experience, archery, a comedy club, meditation and a walking tour. So the first 2, pretty decent but the rest are really naff. There isn't an option to change or swap these so either you need to be open to try new things or just accept that some months you'll get things you may not want - I guess you can let someone else go for you.

I decided To cancel after 1 month. Buckt are upfront with how to do this though it seemed complex it really wasn't. You log onto a different platform and follow their instructions. The only thing I worried about is that it said you lose your activities if you cancel so I made sure to book mine first just in case.

So is Buckt worth it? For £15 for 2 people, yes. Even with 3 less than great activities, the 2 good ones probably make it worth it and I'll do the walking tour regardless because I like walking. I think for the full price you need to be open to try everything to make it worth it but I like the concept and if you want to get out and do things it's a good idea.

What could be better? Maybe asking people what they liked to tailor activities to their interests and ability. Maybe allowing people to shuffle what they get so that if they get meditation they can swap it?

Edit: 8th Dec.
The owner of Buckt called me to discuss the issues that I experienced. I understand what I went through, with the longer than usual delays, the change of city etc. isn't the norm. They also offered me a full refund but for the price I paid for my activities and the fact that I am going to do a couple of them so that seemed wrong, so I declined.

Off the back of our talk I have decided to modify my review, but not remove it completely. It's a fair representation of my experience and if Buckt came back to my area I would want to give it another go.

Bad customer service, but CEO redeemed themselves!

‼️‼️DO NOT USE BUCKT‼️‼️
They refused to refund me my subscription payment after I told them my mum died recently and they claimed that they needed the £40 more than I do. No customer care whatsoever, they completely disregarded my situation. I commented on their socials to try and spread the word of their awful service and they deleted all my comments to cover their tracks 😂 and completely ignored my last email. Corrupt company!!!!!!!!

I’ve been a subscriber for almost a year now, and I love it! It’s a great way for me to try a bunch of new activities, some that I’d never even heard of. My favourite so far was the Alpaca Walking - such a cool day out. I’ve saved heaps of time now that I don't have to think of fun things to do anymore, which is awesome. I highly recommend!

If you don’t do Buckt you’re missing out! I signed up because I was bored of doing the same old thing with my partner, but now we always have a new activity to look forward to. It’s been great to try so many things like segways, VR, sumo wrestling, and even a cute afternoon tea. The value for money is so good too, you just pay £20 per person per month and have 5 activities to do together - so ideal!

Great activities from Buckt

I have been subscribed to Buckt for almost 2 years now and still manage to have a fantastic time every month. Although there is the odd activity every now and then that I wouldn't take part in, the rest of the activities always make up for this.

Recently we have loved doing things like a VR experience, Speedway tickets, Laser tag and Wine tasting to name just a few. We are looking forward to our Axe Throwing activity the most out of this months activities.

I have advised many friends and family to join Buckt, which they have done, and have all had good words to say.

I love it

I love it! I moved to Birmingham about 6 months ago and have done sooo many activities through Buckt. Me and my flatmate have a blast going to the experiences together. We rate that there’s a variety too, my flatmate loves the outgoing stuff like axe throwing and rock climbing, but I like how we still get to do creative things like flower arranging and cooking classes. I also think it’s a super affordable deal, especially since we don’t have to come up with the ideas. Can’t wait for next month's activities!

Good for new experiences

Really fun little app, good for finding new experiences/days out etc
Only issue is some of the places that you’re meant to book with can sometimes be difficult to actually book on with or contact

Great fun!

We've been subscribed to Buckt since it rolled out in London about 2 years ago. Still loving it and getting to discover new things and places every month. It certainly made us try things we would never think to try otherwise (like guitar or life drawing lessons).
We've had some amazing value activities like segways, axe throwing and TOCA football which were incredible fun.
Many opportunities to meet other Buckteers and have fun together at games nights, escape room or augmented reality darts.
Yes, it requires being organised and flexible when it comes to time and travelling but it's such great value for money and the mystery adds excitement to boring everyday life. Thoroughly recommended!

Perfect for adding some variety to dates!

Have been subscribed for just over half a year now and still find the variety of activities offered surprising and always find a couple of activities a month a completely new experience that makes the subscription well worth it!

The app is not the easiest thing to interact with, but once you've booked a few activities you get used to the system. They are also in the midst of upgrading the app, which while arguably overdue, is welcome.

My only other criticism is sometimes the activities can have a fairly narrow range of available dates, it's understandably geared towards 9-5'ers, but can lead to some missed activities if you are at the mercy of a rota!

Fantastic concept!

I have been subscribed with Buckt for over a year now and I must say that it's been an absolute pleasure!

Amongst all the activities, some highlights for me have been the Comedy Shows, Masterclass Cocktail Making, Sessay and Casino experience.

Would 100% recommend. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

Great idea in theory but the app is awful, hasn’t worked for 2 months and they’ve upped the price during this. Booking the actual activities is a pain too, if they made things easier to book then it would be worth it but at the moment I can’t recommend.

Good company to work with. I used them for a recent music event. I’m also a mystery box customer. I’ve always got something to do each month without having to plan too much which is great.

Use to be good, but expensive with new changes. Price is the same everywhere where other locations is generally 10x more.

After being contacted last time to make a review as they needed 5* for a better trust pilot, i'm making another review due to the price increase.

Concept is good and activities are fun, however, it is a gamble. Some months you may use nothing out of it as activities are only scheduled during working hours. Activities are likely free on their side as it's a business promotion, but act like you are getting £20 value from the ticket.

Cost of subscription is exactly the same per region. I'm using liverpool, however same price as London. Whereas london by nature is 10x more expensive for activities. This new pricing plan takes money from those areas to likely substitute areas like london for different activites which i don't think should be the case.

£40 now for 5 activites, i feel this is overpriced for what you get especially in Liverpool. Some months been well worth it, other times it's just a scheduled event at a local bar. Price then decreases the less activities so £25 for 3, the chances of you actually getting an activity you will turn up to.

This new plan is using the price increase as a 'benefit' for support and the App, however the app has always had issues and the CEO was at an event said this is in the works. We shouldn't be paying extra for an app that should have been there in the first place.

Overall, price increase for the value of the tickets isn't worth it. Especially if you don't live in London. Prices should be based on the area you are getting the tickets from. Have cancelled sub based on this.

Thrilling Archery in the Forest: Buckt's Price-Savvy Adventure

Absolutely fantastic experience! I had the opportunity to try archery with my friend , and it was a blast. Being in the heart of the forest added a magical touch to the adventure. What's even better is that it's a fraction of the price compared to booking these activities individually. Buckt's subscription service is for anyone looking to explore new activities without breaking the bank. You can always find some interesting activities to choose from! Recommend!

Been a subscriber for almost a year now and really enjoying the varied amount of activities available each month! As the lead subscriber I have had the opportunity to do activities with friends and family and in most cases there is the option to buy more tickets for an activity for a discounted price. There could be a better system in place in regard to booking the activity tickets but otherwise I have had a great experience so far!
