Avoid them when needing cables from outside…

Avoid then needing cables from outside the US. I live en Denmark and got notice that my cables was shipped, now a month later, still no cables, and no other word that the cabels are underway to the EU warehouse where I will recieve a tracking number. No answer when using their webform or direct mail. My guess is that the cables never shipped or got lost in transit, non of wich I consider as being my problem. But funny enough there is no contact to their financial department for a refund.

Avoid. Slow support response times, resulting in my order not being cancelled and shipped instead

Asked for them to cancel my order, the email wasn't picked up by the support team, and now they can't cancel my order because it has already shipped to the EU warehouse. It wasn't a custom order and now I'm subject to their extortionate restocking fee and import duty because they were delayed.

I've been a return customer to Cablemod for quite some time and fortunately throughout that journey I have never had to contact their support team for a problem, however, this experience has taught me that you probably shouldn't be relying on responses from their team (god help if you have a warranty problem!)

I no longer recommend Cablemod.

We do have a cancel option now via the email that gets sent out, as well as via your "Orders" section when you login. This is the best option for cancelling orders actually as our support team doesn't work over the weekends when your ticket was submitted. Additionally, if it is after the 24 hour cancellation period, we're unable to guarantee orders can be cancelled which we did share this information with you, as we cannot cancel an order once it has been shipped. We do our best to help of course and will always cancel if we can, however, if an order is shipped, again, unfortunately we're unable to cancel it at that time as it is already with the courier.

Horrible Customer "Service"

Very disappointing customer service. I placed an order on Sunday (around 3PM PST) and immediately noticed an error and submitted a ticket (through the website) to have it fixed. I submitted a second ticket (via email) the next morning (around 9AM) after not hearing back from anyone (both tickets submitted within the 24 hour turnaround window). Received my first reply (outside the 24 hour turnaround window) that night. Was told my order cannot be changed but a cancel/refund request was submitted. The next day, I'm told my order was shipped out. Customer service responded that night saying the cancel request was not processed because the order was already completed, and that I will not be refunded for my purchase. This story goes on further but I will stop there. I've spoken with about 3 different people regarding my order and none of them have provided any help whatsoever nor have any made any attempt to try and reach a proper solution. I followed the site's procedure to submit a ticket within the proper timeframe but apparently that doesn't guarantee an order can be cancelled (which is ridiculous). Point is, customer service is really bad and in honestly a deal breaker for me. Will not be doing business with them in the future and cannot recommend.

Edit (7/27/21): CableMod had responded below saying that I should have received a reply and support will help. As I stated in my review, I have spoken with 3 different people from CableMod (over the course of a week) and all I have been told is that putting in a cancellation request does not guarantee my order to be cancelled and that they refuse to issue me a refund. Once again, my cancellation request was put in roughly 10 minutes after the initial order was placed and despite a representative telling me he would cancel my order and issue me a refund so I could reorder, that did not happen. I am now out ~$150, have a duplicate set of cables that I do not want, and communications seemed to have ceased. CableMod's support has been inept at best (failing to cancel an order they said they would) or outright malicious at worst (intentionally failing to cancel my order knowing they wouldn't honer a refund). Again, I cannot recommend CableMod to anyone based off of their horrible customer support.

Support is not Dependable at all...

I put in a order on my account on July 16th, Friday. i realized i put the wrong shipping address and i emailed support to cancel my order very soon after on July 16, 2021 at 3:52am, I got an email from support on July 16, 2021 at 8:24am that the request to cancel my order was submitted and i should receive an email notification once it goes through. Then I emailed support again at July 17, 2021 at 12:53am for a follow up on my notification. On Saturday, July 17, 2021, 04:56:08 AM, Your support team told me my order has already been shipped because US orders have a slight priority and unfortunately they couldn't cancel it. I was also told that I would not get a refund on my order.
I have put my cancelation well within the 24 hour window which is stated in your support page and it was not a custom order. I dont understand why i wouldnt get a refund...

Fast shipping and amazing quality cables

I ordered my cables recently and was told it would take about 3-4 weeks to get my cables. My order shipped out on June 7th and I received them today only 3 days later. Couldn’t be happier with the quality of the cables as well very clean and sturdy.

disappointed

i ordred my new custom cables at: 26 February 2021, and now almost 3 months later i still haven't recieved them. there was some problems doing shipping, there i got a Refund on the shipping, at around 5 April, i was promised a 3 week delay, now 5 weeks later still haven't got any updates. i have been i touch with your customer support, with can't give me anything at all, i think that kind of sucks because i paid more for these cables then i did my PSU. i still looking forward to getting them, but i think almost 3 months is way to long to wait

Delivery Limbo

I ordered the cables on 17.03.2021 and to my surprise the order was shipped out already a week later. From the description it seemed to come from outside EU via UK, as a way to lower taxation. This was suspicious due to the fact that I had ordered in the EU shop, but no matter.
The problem is that 2.5 weeks after shipment I had still no sign that the parcel had made it to my country in Germany. I asked the company for clarifications, they mentioned they had a shipment delivered to the wrong facility so they had to reship these orders. They promised to get back to me soon with an email with the parcel status and a shipping refund.
Another 5 days later there was no parcel delivered, no email with status and no shipping refund. I contacted Cablemod again and the same contact person wrote back apologizing and mentioning they were doing their best.

Now, these are the facts, plainly laid out. I now see that half the reviews here are of 1 star, and that they almost exclusively come from customers outside US. You judge for yourself if paying 100-150EUR for such purchase and getting this kind of experience is a worthwhile deal or not.

We do ship to our EU facility in bulk for EU orders but this is because we pay for import/VAT costs for you, and this helps make sure that we get those fees and they aren't passed onto customers which is why we changed the method. This is because when we were shipping direct to the customer, sometimes the couriers were trying to say the import/VAT costs weren't paid for, even though they were, and tried to double charge us and the customer for it. So in shipping to our own facility and then direct shipping to customers, this gets rid of any of those issues. This does mean that shipping takes a little longer unfortunately, but it does avoid any unnecessary complications and double charging. We did have an issue however where our last shipment was delivered to the wrong address, which we did retrieve and arranged for everything to be shipped out correctly, but unfortunately the courier did deliver it to the wrong address which added more time to the shipping process sadly. We do apologize for the complications and hiccup during your order process, but rest assured this is not our standard series of events and if you do decide to order from us again it will be a much smoother process, I can promise you that as we always strive to do our best, which is why you saw your order ship a week earlier than the estimated shipping time. I also just double checked with the team about your refund and you should have received that back as it is processed. Awful customer service. Broken purchasing system

I ordered a set of custom cables and some addons. The addon section of my order was selected correctly at check out however it came through incorrectly on the confirmation. There is a bug where 3 x sata data cables I ordered came though as each the same colour instead of three different colours (1xblack 1xgrey 1xorange). It's fine that issues happen, but how they're dealt with by customer service is where company values are truly hidden.

After emailing explaining the situation about the addons I had to explain very clearly about the issue and request to change the colour of two cables. As the rep clearly didn't read or understand my original problem. Likely he didn't even look at the order. Just assumed I was talking about the custom cable side of the order. Eventually I got him to understand at about 3/4 emails in. But then all of a sudden received a rhetoric of 'we can't change orders' and the order had to be cancelled and replaced.

So I sit there and wonder what the point of these 4 emails about changing the order were before if nothing could ever be changed trying to discover/rectify the issue.. I reply saying that I dont understand just tweak the order form as its the same price. But the rep is adamant, saying he has to cancel and refund. Therefore placing extra effort on me as a customer to go through the process again. I come from a web based customer service background and we never did this. We would alway do our best to keep an order and help the customer by altering it ourselves. Its just poor service. I tell this to the guy and ask for him to speak to his manager and he says no again.

Anyway I have to detail how the order process is broken for him. So now I'm doing him a service by troubleshooting and he confirms he can now replicate the ordering error which he says will be fixed. He asked again to refund the my order and I hesitantly agree.

But here is the kicker... I get a refund from this 'company' that is actually less than what I paid by about £10. The rep never mentioned that there would be a possibility of losing money in a refund because of an exchange rate issue. If he had I probably would have just kept the order.

So I email asking if there will be an additional discount to cover this loss upon reordering. -Just the money I lost nothing more. But you've guessed it... the answer was... No. I was the told I couldn't have received the wrong amount back as he refunded the exact amount. So he was basically calling me a liar in this email after I had spent time being patient as a customer helping to troubleshoot their website! Not even a thank you.

In summary these cables are made in a factory in China and are not the all singing quality items they are advertised to be on the Internet specifically youtube. The customer care is zero and they do not appreciate you. My advice - build your own cables or go somewhere else.

I'd be more than happy to share a screenshot of the total paid, and the total refunded to you so that you could see we did refund the full amount back to you, we are not at all trying to take a few dollars away from you of course, we don't operate like this. As we discussed though, our system unfortunately doesn't allow us to edit orders, so if a change needs to be made, it does unfortunately mean that we have to cancel the order and have you submit a new one. We do apologize if this is an inconvenience, but unfortunately we don't have a way to edit it as I mentioned. Our apologies as well for the bug discovered on the configurator, we rolled out a new update to this recently and as we've found there was indeed a bug on the SATA data cable color additions, but we are going to have this fixed immediately now that this has been identified of course. As mentioned previously though, as I wasn't aware of the bug on the SATA data cables, I had thought you were referring to the SATA power cables, but once we identified this we did try to help and make it right. Sadly though, we do not have any discounts at this time as mentioned to be able to help with a discount towards a new order. We do however care about our customers, and I would invite you to join our Facebook group CableModders to see that we have a group of 100k members we've built up, which we are very active in, helping customers and potential customers alike, as well as every day builders who don't even buy our cables in their tech needs.

Cablemod has been screwing around with…

Cablemod has been screwing around with my order. Made the cables then picked up by TNT in china then sent back to the sender (Cablemod) they said they are getting their shipping department to look into it even tho its sitting in their warehouse. The customer service is sloppy and feels like they do not care. Im still waiting for my cables since i ordered the 20th of dec 2020 and now it is the 26th of jan 2021. Feels like they have taken my money and ran with it after multiple support tickets with (Joe from cablemod) and still gotten nowhere . I do not feel like a valued customer nor do i feel like i've been looked after.

DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!

First time ordering any customs cables for my PC. I ordered quite a few and when the order arrived I realized I messed up and ordered the wrong one. I got in touch with support and Joe was incredibly helpful in assisting me with ordering the correct one. worst logistics ever, good cables.

The quality of the cables I have nothing negative to say, excellent construction quality and good finishes.
Regarding the shipping time, it's just horrible, one of the worst things I've ever experienced in my life in online shopping, a month ago and it hasn't arrived at the European warehouse yet.
I don't recommend buying directly from CableMod, it's just the worst possible experience.
And customer support, the only thing they say is "in a few days it will arrive at the European warehouse" they cannot say anything else.

We do note that there is a transition time where we ship EU store orders to our EU team and then they redirect it to you directly and that this can take several days. If you order from our global store the shipping is directly to you and quicker, however the EU store we pay for import/VAT costs for you.

Ordered a custom sleeved kit for my new build, PC, one of the cables arrived faulty, but after sending a photo of the defective item the guys from Cablemod sorted the issue, and sent out a replacement, this was with me within a week!

Amazing stuff!

Just received my custom cables i ordered a few weeks ago. The quality is freaking awesome, they look and feel like they will last a long time.
Shipping was faster than expected too.
Can't say anything about customer service, my order went flawless so i had no need to contact them.

Fantastic Product and Customer Service

My experience with Cablemod was fantastic.

I ordered six (6) custom cables. They were made within three (3) or so days, and shipped from China to the United States in four (4) days.

They arrived in perfect condition, and the cables, combs, and connectors were of high quality - as you would expect from the premium price.

There was only one problem. I mistakenly ordered CPU cables for my GPU. I contacted Cablemod and spoke with Joe. Despite it being my mistake, he offered a discounted cost for the custom GPU cables, and Cablemod paid for the international shipping.

We exchanged up to sixteen (16) separate emails throughout the process. He was cordial and responsive.

There’s a reason you see Cablemod products used by Jayztwocents and GGF - quality products and top tier customer service.

I’m not one to typically write reviews, but I felt other customers could benefit from the knowledge.

Skip the overpriced cable, misleading courier indicated on website.

I have ordered twice from them. They ship via fedex instead of DHL despite DHL is indicated in their website. Fedex is known to charge additional fees on top on what is paid on cablemod for shipping on their website. Cablemod forces you to spend via their minimum order crap but ships with a lousy courier which is Fedex Philippines. I did request them the second time to use DHL but to no avail. I will no longer buy stuff from them ever again. And they are made in China so they are overpriced chinese crap.

We do generally prioritize using DHL Express as our courier, but we do also mention that we may need to use other couriers depending on the region/area specifically, that is out of our control unfortunately. We do note that we're not responsible for any import/VAT costs from our global store if you order from us though and that this would be your responsibility to cover. Our cables are not over priced Chinese crap either, we're the leading seller for a reason, we offer a quality product with support to match it. Incredible Company. Ignore the Bad Reviews

CableMods is one of the best companies I've worked with. They have fantastic customer service and an incredible product... which makes the negative reviews make zero sense to me. After reading a lot of them, I see a pattern in the negative reviews.

- "I didn't read the large text plastered on every page explaining what to expect"

- "I ordered a custom, hand-made product and have ridiculous expectations that it will be at my door in 2 days."

- "There's a global pandemic going on and though the site warmed me to expect delays in order processing, I still decided to 1 star CableMods on Trust Pilot after waiting 1 week because I'm an inconsiderate, bad consumer."

- "I cannot navigate a website to the support page and use the correct e-mail for help. I instead reply to the automated e-mail I received that says "DO NOT REPLY" and get mad no one is responding."

Every time I've contacted CableMods, they are quick to respond, informative, and helpful. Their customer service is top notch as well as the products and services they offer. I've been using them for 4 years and have never had an issue. These negative reviews are ridiculous and should be ignored. CableMods does not deserve them at all.

CABLEMOD RIPPED ME OFF

just got ripped off by this joke of a company. DO NOT GET CUSTOM CABLE FROM THEM. they will either leave you in shipping limbo, or just straight rip you off.

Ordered a custom set of cables on june 21st, was notified that it was picked up for shipping on the 26th of june by cable mod. received notification from dhl that the shipment would arrive on july 6th.

as of today i got a notification from DHL that my shipment was sent back to the shipper (cablemod) due to not paying the shipping cost. I remind you that i have already been charged for the cost of my cables AND SHIPPING.
Order tracking on cable mods website shows that my order has been complete. i have sent several emails to support and have yet to get an answer from them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Rest assured, this was a simple mistake on DHL's end and we are getting it corrected. We cannot control hiccups on the shipping side of things if DHL has a hiccup, but we will always make sure you receive your order. This will likely just be a cycle back and get new shipping labels (we will forward a new tracking # to you once received). Even if they lost the shipment though, we would remake the order at no additional cost to you and reship it to you, we always will do this to take care of our customers. Placed order on the 23 Mar 20 for A…

Placed order on the 23 Mar 20 for A CABLEMOD PRO KIT for an RM Series PSU, NOT A CUSTOM KIT or anything special, but a KIT advertised by Cablemod on their website for my PSU.

I used the EU Store online and place an order for the RM kit. 9 days went past and I had no contact from cablemod(customer service) to update me on the delivery details. I emailed cablemod using their website to ask about timings on delivery etc. Recieved a reply within 48hrs, stating the delay was due to the corona virus. This wasn't an issue, as now I knew.

Today: Still NO CABLES have been recieved, the tracking information seems to suggest import from the USA for delivery to the UK, even tho I used the EU store.

Poor delivery processes and procedures during times such as these only highlight incompetence. Poor customer service from a company I would expect better from. If I can receive a 12kg parcel from Germany in 5 days during lock down, I'm sure a 8x4" box could make it here in that time.

First and last time I used CABLEMOD.

We do note directly on our store pages that we have delays on all shipments of up to 6 weeks currently as we had our yearly shut down, and then COVID19 hit, further leaving people unable to leave their homes, so because of this we were down for some time. During that time we were still taking orders and announced that we would be offering discounts if orders exceeded a certain wait period (also noted on the website). There is still quite a bit of backlog though, and still a several week waiting period on orders, stock or custom, but again this is mentioned on the website. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are doing our best to get orders out quickly.

10/10, would recommend!

Accidentally bought the wrong cablekit for my pc, not directly from Cablemod, but from Amazon. When I needed cables to RMx, but instead got for HXi, AXi.

So I contacted Amazon, hoping to return my product. As it turned out I was way over my refund time. My Cablemod product had just been sitting here, unopened because I have yet to assemble all my parts and actually get to building my new pc. So Amazon refused my request.

Next, trying my luck directly with Cablemod, turns out I met the right customer service representative from Cablemod, the caped hero, Joe!

Joe set me up, made sure everything else would work just fine, and free of charge sent me an additional 24 pin cable in white, as I needed!

During our e-mail back and forth, Joe was super nice and is to this day the best service I’ve ever got. Be nice, present your case the best you can, and I’m 100% sure you’ll get the help you need from these guys!
