Questionable Quality
Beautiful furniture but questionable quality. I bought 4 Aida dining room chairs, not cheep but matched the calligaris dining table really well.
I very rarely use them so I was surprised when a couple of them began to have a slight ripple in the material. One of them the chairs ripple didn't get worse, but the other began to flake off. The chair is now totally ruined. Even more surprising is how thin the 'leather' material is.
I simple can't recommend these chairs. I did contact the company but as I'd had them for more than 2 year they were unable to do anything. They never commented on the material simply flaking away from the chair or even commented on it being unusual, which concerned me somewhat.
I won't be buying from this company again unfortunately, shame as their furniture looks great, the quality seems to be as poor as their customers service though.
Not the quality they proud themself
We have bought a sideboard from Calligaris in April 2024. We received it in July and everything looked good at a first sight. However, a couple of days after, we noticed 2 little scratches inside, one on top the main shelf, the second to the right just behind the door. What's more, the shelf laminate itself seemed ruined, it is important to say that we did not put anything inside, so these little damages were there from the day of delivery. The sideboard has arrived as one piece (the delivery company has only fitted the legs and marble top), that means, the item departed with these damages from Italy.
Of course when we noticed this problems we took pictures and send them immediately to the customer service to the London store where we did the purchase. Only answer we got was that they sent all to the head office but, because I have signed the paper on the day of delivery, there wasn't nothing they can do.
So, my question to Calligaris is: if you asked £4000 for a sideboard, is this really the service you provide? if a customer does not notice a defect immediately, is this your way of dealing with it? Just saying "Too late sorry, you should have noticed earlier"?
Considering the big amount we paid for that, we were expecting for a better quality of the product:
1) we expected to receive a sideboard in PERFECT condition, without scratches
2) we expected a good customer service response
I want to stress out: we did not do these scratches in the sideboard, the item departed from Italy with these!
I even sent an email to Calligaris directly, they said the request has been sent to the "Post sale Department", never heard back from them yet (I doubt we will).
Totally disappointed from Calligaris which proud itself to be high quality furniture store with a tradition since 1928... are they? Does "high quality tradition" means sending scratched furniture ignoring the complaints after?
Honestly, if I receive a scratched piece from IKEA they will replace the item with no fuss... and actually, I have never received a damaged piece from IKEA, from Calligaris I did.
STAY AWAY
8 month for 6 chairs - unacceptable by all means and standard!!!
Bad customer experience!
Ordered 6 chairs 5 months ago and they are not even able to tell us when they will be delivered. The bed took 6 months to be delivered. Shockingly bad customer service!
Please avoid Calligaris at all costs
Please avoid Calligaris at all costs. The customer service is shocking. I bought a couch 6 months ago and it has started to sag already. I thought Nattussi was a good make I was wrong. I have had 3 leather suites in my lifetime for 10 years 12 years and my last on was 8 years old I have sold them all on as in perfect condition. I could not give this one away. This couch is only in a spare sitting room. Only used when my husband watches sport. Please read all the complaints and save your money.

Couch fell apart in 1st year.
Not only am I disappointed with Calligaris' lack of quality, I'm disappointed even more so by their lack of customer service. When you tell a customer that the cushions on their sofas need to be fluffed daily in order to be functional, that's a quality issue. A sofa I bought from them for 6K a few years ago has had issues from the beginning. The sofa has completely lost its shape. Sagged in the middle, cushions completely flat. It looked like utter crap. I informed them of the quality issue and was ignored at first. I had to contact their head office until someone from the Toronto shop contacted me. The sofa had sank about 1+inches in the middle despite having a middle leg. We went back and forth because they stated they could not see a dip. Already stepping away from accountability. It was impossible for their items to have any issues. Well, when I eventually proved that there was a problem (6 months of denial) they decided to send someone over. The guy fluffed the cushions and adjusted the middle leg. Then Caligaris said the dip is within their guidelines of course. months later the dip is back and the sofa has fallen apart even more. $6K down the drain.
The funny thing is when I was looking to buy the couch I had gone to BoConcept and the salesperson there said that Caligaris isn't known for their couches and to be aware that there may be quality issues. I thought she just wanted a sale. Maybe that's the case, but she was right. I also question whether these couches are built and assembled in Italy. Funny enough boconcept couches have much better reviews. Buyer beware. Nothing more than Ikea quality with a big price tag.
When a prime quality is a second-standard
I was shocked by the number of bad reviews this furniture store got since I considered it Italian excellence. Apparently, I was wrong.
I bought a table from the store diotti.com.
The furniture arrived in outrageously bad filled boxes, with little padding and without a strong skeleton. The table legs were not straight and badly assembled. After 6 months from my order and 2 from the reception (!!!) I received substitutes. When I finally managed to assemble the table, the bad surprise: a brown stain, around 2.5mm diameter, on the white glass-ceramic surface.
Cutting the discussion short, after a further month I receive the shocking reply: since the glass-ceramic is a "natural material" (!!! that is really funny, how on Earth can a COMPOSITE material be considered natural?), the company considers the defect within its "quality standards".
So, if you buy something pure white, as precious as you like, with a ~2sqm white surface... Remember white is not within this company's quality standard, and some stains are to be expected.
My feeling as a customer is to have purchased a second-standard product, apparently their prime quality is a second-standard...

Great products of top quality but most of all fantastic customer service from Kate at the Uddingston Store who couldn’t have been more knowledgeable, attentive or helpful
badly designed product
the customer service from this company is shockingly bad. I have purchased several bar stools from them, 3 of them have broken in a dramatic way ie someone was actually sitting on them at the time the seat snapped. I myself suffered extremely painful bruising and was lucky not to have been cut by the sharp edges as I was wearing trousers. I have sent photos to them and so far no response. The last 2 broken seats I had to replace at my own cost - and they are not cheap - with no offer to do this by the company the product is clearly a faulty design and I would worry other products may be similar I will never buy anything from them again

We popped into calligaris lakeside kent and WOW! We were greeted by Karen and Sue who were just fabulous! We wanted a ceramic table and matching chairs in leather, the girls were so helpful, bringing us samples of colours and styles to our chosen table. We then moved onto matching leather stools for our central island, then they produced a beautiful swivel armchair to complete the look for the bar! It was a pleasure from start to finish, thank you!
sofa Taylor Calligaris poor quality
I bought sofa Taylor, Calligaris, made in Lithuania in 2018
In 2020 zigzag spring fall of from one of the two unit.
Cause - the end of the spring was not shape properly when it was made.
I do not reccomend this product.
There are no service from Calligaris.
Calligaris experience; I recently acquired many pieces for my…
I recently acquired many pieces for my new home at Calligaris King of Prussia. Since we were spending so much with this one store I started doing online review research and saw a number of these negative posts while also seeing dozens of positive ones. I wasn't sure what to believe so I interviewed the owner the KoP location; A.J. Groves. He was happy to review the circumstances behind the total of 3 negative or 1 star reviews and shared the timeline for the many positive reviews.
My findings; the 3 negative reviews - two of the three were from the actions of the prior owner Peter Chong of the KoP store. AJ shared he tried to remedy both even though he was not involved just because it wa the right thing to do. On one of them - it was a delayed order that Calligaris Italy did not process or produce as expected and nobody at any store level could help. The second was an installation error for a wood top table and AJ personal learned the right way to align the table and visited the home and aligned the table properly and well within specifications. That reviewer revised their comments but still left a 1 star review because her top received minor damage after a party which clearly showed fork marks in the top. The third one was one that He shared was the toughest and earned. Good intention gone really bad. The store had made over 12 calls to the client advising the chairs were in and there was no answer. The representative did not do a good job of trying other methods including mailing a letter. At the same time the customer was canceling the order with their credit card company, AJ visited the home and tried to speak to the couples. He explained that they were trying to get them the chairs but the furniture was custom ordered for that client and the sales agreement the client singed and agreed to includes the ability to to cancel but also has to include a 50% restocking fee because they can't do anything with custom orders except open the boxes and sell it form their floor which they are not encouraged to do. Any client buying a floor model will expect a steep discount which is why they have to include a 50% restocking fee which was reviewed at the time of sale and signed for. At the end, Calligaris KoP did not charge the the 50% restocking fee because they felt bad for the outcome and never wanted to charge anyone that fee. It may also be worth noting that AJ couldn't speak directly to his customer and instead was relatgated to others that spoke English better than the true customer. All of whom were not involved in the original sale process. He invited if anyone including the ones that left the negative reviews wants to talk about it and if there could have been a better way to handle it - call him at 610-312-0199. AJ Groves and my dealings with his team were great and the other comments don't seem fair.
Fast forward, our order was delayed as well. Each time we asked for an ETA, AJ or his team gave us answers to the status of our order. The delivery team delivered the furniture last week and we couldn't be happier. Problems happen but we were really glad we had someone like AJ who worked tirelessly to communicate and share transparently what was going on.
PEOPLE - DO NOT BUY FROM CALLIGARIS. IT IS A SCAM! MADE IN CROATIA NOT ITALY
I want to speak to all potential customers who are thinking about purchasing furniture from Calligaris Westcher Store.
Let me tell you my story so that you can think twice about where you will purchase your furniture from.
Originally I have purchased Lounge sofa from Calligaris Westchester store in Sep.2016 and it was a custom sofa made in Italy or was it really??? That is questionable. I could not get my sofa delivered to me and I started following up every other day. It took 6 months.
After 6 moths or so I noticed sofa was defective and if anyone is interested in details, just contact me and I will tell you all the detail.
The defect was "fixed" by the repairman but the fix did not last very long. So I was again chasing Calligaris Westchester to remediate this and was having trouble reaching someone and i was told the promises that never actually happened. It was a painful, painful ordeal and after few months finally i received a Store Credit. It was now 2019. But what am i going to do with Store Credit, right? So went to Calligaris Westchester and please also dont do business with William Lee, he is now the store owner. He can sound polite and promising and he is the worse in terms of managing and following up and everything in terms of Customer Experience.
To continue I had no choice due to the over priced furniture that is not even made in ITALY but in SERBIA or CROATIA and had to basically place an order for the same sofa but brand new one. It was Oct.2019
Now fast forward to May 29, 2020 William Lee the owner of Calligaris Westchester store does not know where my sofa is. AND he did not have the decency to pick up my 1,000 calls i placed. He screened my phone calls and ignored my please for trying to understand ETA and just find out what is going on. NOT ONE Person has called me back and kind of let me know where my order is.
And when I called from a different phone number William Lee answered and said: "your sofa is in NC warehouse and we will deliver beginning of January" PEOPLE it is MAY 2020 and he never called me since and he is not answering his phone !!!! This is not a normal, professional way of doing business and I want EVERYONE PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT SHOP @ Calligaris Wetchester store. I know that they are moving to White Plains mall so PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CALLIGARIS furniture.
It is not Italian Furniture, it is not made in Italy. It is made in Croatia and their deliveries dissapear and you are on the hook for thousands and thousands of dollars.
They do not deserve a star. They deserve to be bankrupt or in jail because they are crooks

This is my worst experience with…
This is my worst experience with furniture stores ever!!!! A man called David who is responsible for the New York City area delivery is a liar! I bought a dining table in August this year and it was delivered in September. When it arrived, there’s something wrong with the extendible frame. The delivery man told me they would order a new frame for me, and this situation had happened before. I called David he said they would need to pick the whole dining table and then deliver it back with the new frame because they needed to make sure everything worked correctly. I said ok. And in October, they came to pick up the table, the delivery men were so rude, their faces were like I owned them million of bucks, and they refused to pick up the whole table because it’s heavy...what a joke..they called David and David allowed them to only pick up the legs and frame. So what’s the point for you guys coming here and pick up the old one? And then, they delivers the “new frames” back four days later. After they finished the installation, the guys seemed confused because the extendible system became even worse. And the guys who came to deliver the “new” one told me the frame was still the old one?! What the hell is going on with this company?? So they recorded a video and told me they would order a real new one, and told me next time if they called me to say they need to pick the old frame first, just say no. Ok fine. I gave Calligaris another chance. One month later, yes, one more month later. David told me the new frame arrived. On the delivery day, two guys came to fix it with nothing, without a new frame, they said they were trained how to fix it so don’t need the new frame...it cost the company one month for the training, are you kidding me? David wrote in his email saying that the new frame had arrived??was he lying?? He mentioned nothing about training??and then they “fixed” it and refused to show how the table worked because they said there’s not enough space to show me the extendible system. They said everything was fine. I trusted them and let them leave, after they leave, I let my boyfriend try whether the extendible frame worked correctly. The table top stuck with each other and cannot move right. Are u kidding me? I called David really mad and told him I wanna return the whole thing. David said drivers were coming back to help me. Then, guess what, after one hour, I guess they went back to pick up the frame, they brought back a new frame to me for the installation. What a joke Calligaris. I bought the table for more than 4000 dollars, and you even don’t wanna exchange the bad frame with a new one?
We unfortunately had a really terrible…
We unfortunately had a really terrible experience buying from Calligaris, and I would avoid doing it ever again. We ordered six chairs for the dining room from the outlet store in Tiare. When they arrived we put them in the car and took them home without checking them. At home, we opened one immediately to try it and saw when we removed the plastic that it was ripped on the seat. We checked the next one...also ripped. Same for the third, fourth, fifth, sixth. Every single chair ripped at least a little bit, and we had just spent 800 euros on them.
We took photos and notified the store immediately (only a couple of hours from when we picked them up). They assured us that we could bring the chairs back to have them replaced. However, a few days later they wrote again saying that they could not exchange them any longer - their reason being that Calligaris headquarters said that the rips on the chairs could only have been made with a knife, and therefore it must have been us that did it. All they could offer us is a discount if we want to buy more chairs. As if we would want more chairs from the place that gave us six defective ones?
The man at the outlet was helpful and tried to help us dispute this with them but after several months we do not have a solution, so my only option is to advise others here to avoid purchasing from here. It is a shame as Calligaris is a local Friuli business and normally we would like to support that, but it is really appalling to me that a company would treat its customers like this.

Worst Experience Ever
This is one of the worst furniture stores I have ever been to. I have been waiting for 4 chairs that I've bought in March. They told me that it would be ready in July. Come August and I still don't receive any calls or confirmation that my chairs are coming. I tried calling them more than five times to get information if the chairs are ready. But Kristin Fitzpatrick the salesperson kept telling me that they will call back in 5 minutes each time and get more information. And each time, I receive no phone calls back. Each time I had to personally call, but nothing.
Eventually, I canceled my order. On a random night on a weekday, a man named AJ Groves comes to my home and threatens me that I have to pay a 50% stock fee. They have lied over and over again that they've called and left messages on my phone. But guess what, this is the modern age and my phone has all records of calls and messages.
If you want threats, lies, no regard to customers and no information on if you are going to actually receive the furniture. Going ahead and buy from this place. But be warned! They are the worst and I will never buy from this place again!

Avoid buying from Calligaris at all costs.
The rating won’t allow zero stars, hence the 1-star.
We bought a dining room table and chairs through an outlet of theirs, Furniture Village, and were told there’d be a 9-week lead-in period as it’s manufactured to your bespoke specification.
Happy enough with that, we’re delighted with our purchase and pay there and then. We’re told that all communication will now come from Calligaris.
We hear nothing and, having no contact details for Calligaris, we get in touch with the store after 12 weeks. Eventually, they get told that the chairs were damaged in transit.
Given the already well overdue delivery didn’t take place, we asked if the replacement could be delivered as a priority as we're now without a dining room table and chairs. Not an unreasonable request as far as I’m concerned.
Again, we’re told that all future communication will be direct with Calligaris.
Nothing comes of that and we eventually agree a delivery date via the store, today, 01 August 2019 - some 20 weeks after the original purchase in March.
We call the store on Monday and it’s confirmed that it’s still going ahead.
Now with any service or delivery I’ve had in the last 10 years, maybe more, I’m given a delivery slot. It may be vague - morning, afternoon or even evening but, nevertheless, an approximate time. Not with these jokers - so my wife has to book the day off.
We call the store at 1:00pm chasing this and they say they’ll contact Calligaris & get back to us. By 2:30pm we’ve still heard nothing and call back. It’s confirmed that it’s on today’s delivery schedule - but they can’t get further details as the distributors office closes at 2:00pm!
It’s now nearly 10:00pm and, yet again, nothing has turned up - leaving us frustrated and out of pocket in terms of lost salary.
And, guess what, still no communication from Calligaris.
I’d not consider purchasing from Calligaris in future and would advise anyone the same unless you crave disappointment.
Completely unprofessional and, clearly, have no regard whatsoever to customer service.
We’ve been offered our purchase money back and, depending on tomorrow mornings update, looks likely we’ll opt for this.
If we weren’t so desperate for the furniture due to the time factor, the refund would have been snapped up without question - and we’d thank our lucky stars that we’ll never have to deal with Calligaris again.
Fantastic and excellent quality…
Fantastic and excellent quality products from calligaris.
We've been using calligaris products for almost 7 years. The table and the chair till now still in good condition. They are some minor blemish on it due to ware and tear but for us everything was fantastic. What we love about the table is the function of extending the table, super versatile and flexible specially for those who like to host party or occasion.
We always take it to consideration the usage and life style, furniture quality doesn't really represent company reputation.
No matter how expensive the table you purchase but if you don't maintain it well and you don't even bother taking care for it then you defeat the purpose of having a very luxurious designer piece table.
Life is unfair, everything has a purpose. So enjoy your furniture every time you use it.
Thanks
Levante glass dining table
We spent GBP 1,500 on a six seater Levante glass dining table. Within days of using, we noticed hairline scratches. This has progressively got worse in the two months of ownership. I have tried to call and email and I was asked to send photos but very difficult to view through a camera lens. I have today asked them to arrange a site inspection despite being told that the glass is tempered and not scratch resistant. I would urge caution when looking at similar products from this retailer in Tottenham Court Road, London.
