Excellent service by Camel Glass
Camel Glass supplied and fitted two new glass doors for us. The sales guys were knowledgeable and really helpful, coming out at least twice to make sure we got the right colour match. The doors are fantastic and the fit by Ryan and Cobi is second to none. They were polite, friendly and hard working, and they both clearly take great pride in their work. The finish is excellent.
New Front Door and Porch Windows
Phill and Jim fitted our new front door and porch windows today. They did a brilliant job, were on time, finished the work in the day that was allocated, and left everything tidy and clean.
We are delighted with the quality of the products, and it has enhanced the kerb appeal of our property immensely. Thanks to the whole company, everyone we dealt with were efficient, and helpful.

Just like other 'customers'....
My experience is similar to the Sarah Smith review on here. Had some Cortizo doors fitted (badly) a couple of years ago (probably by the same team) with similar problems - oh, and our property isn't anywhere near a creek so that eliminates Camel's excuse for her problems :-)
Air comes through the doors and the water also sits in the weep hole trough although that doesn't bother me that much, it's the air making the house cold. They came back several times to try to fix by doing various things, some things improved but ultimately I still have issues. We knew the frames were not square and eventually Camel got another team out and acknowledged this & agreed to re-fit the frames. This was done but unfortunately the problems are still persisting but as with all these things, it happens over time and just becomes a major inconvenience and hassle. The home is a holiday let so I only realised problems were still there quite recently when I stayed at the house, I wrote to Cortizo to complain and they said they have sent the email to Camel but I haven't heard anything from Camel and I'm not going to hold my breath. Also, I don't trust Camel to employ anyone with the expertise to fix the issues, if they did it would have been done by now, so even if they were to contact me I'm still going elsewhere to find a fix - maybe I can send the bill to Camel....
I've now contacted another window company to ask them to take a look at a repair or even buying brand new patio doors. This is not fair - but ultimately, the hours and hours of stress and hassle caused by something like this which just won't go away, even after a couple of years is unbearable....I'll pay twice just to get rid of the problem and move on.
To be fair to Camel, they think they fixed the issue last time round but since its transpired the issues are ongoing, I would have to start the whole merry-go-round of chasing them and having another go, all over again and there comes a point when you just know it's a complete waste of time.
Sometimes you just have to accept you've been unlucky and chosen the wrong supplier.
Thank goodness for Trustpilot - now don't you go & do the same....
Excellent service

Professional job well done.
The two chaps that put our new conservatory door in, were very cheerful, diligent and extremely knowledgeable about the job in hand. They came to us earlier than expected and any questions we had were answered professionally as I would have expected from a great company. We will definitely be asking them to do more work on our conservatory, when we can afford it. Our new door looks great and they cleared everything up after the job was done. Well done boys and a big thank you from Nancy. Daughter of the home owner.

Good value and very professional.
From start to finish amazing service. The guys who fitted our windows, Phill and Caine were very polite, friendly and extremely professional. They worked hard, in very cold conditions. They cleaned up as they went, and took great pride in their work. I highly recommend camel glass. From the measuring, to the fitting. First class. Thank you. Sue & Steve.

We had a new front door. Came when they said it would. pleasant and efficient fitting team
Proceed with caution
It’s been over 4 YEARS since we had our doors and windows installed by Camel Glass at a cost of over £60,000.
For over 4 years we have had significant problems. Initially the installation team would come back and try to rectify some works but the problems were never fully resolved and we still to this day have major issues.
I feel it necessary to share our story as I believe we are not in the minority.
Over the past few years, we have spent a lot of time trying to get the problems fixed. We believe some are due to poor installation or a lack of understanding of their suppliers products or that they’ve been adapted in house incorrectly.
All of our sliding doors (we have 5 sets) don’t have functioning weep holes, so when it rains the rainwater sits in the troughs INSIDE the house. It’s up to us to mop it away or wait for days for evaporation to do its thing. Various attempts to drill weep holes have failed.
I contacted the manufacturer (Cortizo) who blamed the fact that we live near a creek to be the problem and showed no interest in conducting an investigation. We are in fact 2 rows of houses up from the tail end of a creek, so it’s not as though our house is exposed to harsh sea conditions such as porthleven. I’ve spoken with our neighbours, and no one has windows or doors that leak water and in all the houses that I’ve ever lived in, not one had leaking windows.
It’s an interesting day when the windows are professionally cleaned! The amount of water indoors is significant and if it wasn’t so serious it would be comical.
Camel Glass eventually agreed to conduct a survey, after about 2 years. However this survey was conducted by an employee of Camel, so therefore wasn’t independent. The result of this survey was that we the Customer had high expectations, and that it’s normal for windows to have significant air and water ingress. Read into that what you will.
Our snagging list was very, very long but to summarise the other main areas of concern are that we can’t open some windows and
the sliding doors are difficult to slide and don’t open smoothly. Trims are missing off a few doors and windows and the bespoke front door is warped. Of major note is that every window leaks air which affected the result of the air test required for building control.
The MD has came to visit and he still blames us and our expectations and he had a very defensive attitude and suggested we take Camel to court, rather than agree on a schedule of rectifying works. The works he did agree to carry out, still haven’t been finished.
Normally the fitters come back without the correct tools or products to complete the job.
We could never build a rapport with the customer service team because at the time staff turnover was high. This speaks volumes.
For us, our experience of their installation team and their attitude towards customer service has been appalling. To be ignored is totally unacceptable and unprofessional and to have no apology or accountability is unforgivable.
I’ve never understood why they couldn’t fix the problems because they don’t make the products, they buy them in, so any faults other than installation should be down to the manufacturer.
We’ve also never been issued a warranty and we were assured that installation was covered under the warranty. To not have one in place is unprofessional.
Our builder paid them in full so I guess at the end of the day if a retention hasn’t been held back, there’s no incentive for Camel to fix the problems. It’s a shame that there’s no incentive to do a good job and that they have no pride.
And even though the MD suggested we take them to court, the cost of this on top of what we have paid would be extortionate
We contacted industry regulators but at the end of the day, as with a lot of the building trades, nothing is fully regulated, so they can’t be held accountable and as such they know full well they can get away with shoddy workmanship. It’s a shame they take this route. It would be great if they had taken responsibility, admitted fault and agreed to put things right, rather than let things drag on and belittle and insult us.
£60,000 is a lot of money and we feel completely and utterly let down and would never recommend Camel Glass.
So whilst I can only share our experience, I can only advise you proceed with caution.
So who knows, maybe this review may prompt action but I very much doubt it.
Very poor quality and service
I had two bespoke Front doors made by Camel glass. They cost me £11000 in total. I was promised a personal service and to be kept informed as to what was happening. The first door turned up a day late. The frame fitted nicely in the opening. However, the door fitted terribly in the frame. The mullion was bent and the leading edge of the door was convex. The bottom of the door was also rubbing so badly on the cill that it was ripping the rubber out. After arguing with Bruce who thought I was exaggerating, they agreed to send someone up to Exeter to take a look. Upon looking they agreed that the door was poorly made and agreed to come back and remove the door to the factory and rework it. That took a few weeks overall.
The second door arrived a day late also. That wouldn’t have been a problem it it wasn’t for the fact that I had a carpenter come in that morning and remove the blank door frame ready to fit my new door. Camel phoned me at 11am and said there was a problem with delivery and they were trying to sort it out. They called back at 12 and said there was no way I could have it that day and I could have it the following day. I told them that I had a carpenter for the day and that he had removed the blank door and frame ready for delivery, it wasn’t possible to go anywhere else to work now today and he would need to be paid his daily wage of £250 and I would expect camel to reimburse me. Camel said they would sort it out somehow. The door came the following day and my carpenter fitted it. Sadly from there I have asked to be reimbursed many times to no avail. Bruce has ignored my calls and emails since. Overall I had a very poor experience with Camel and would never use or recommend them to anyone.

I only wanted a new piece of glass for my shed window, small fry in sales terms. Nevertheless my call to Camel was dealt with efficiently, offering me a good price, to be ready for me to collect that afternoon. When I arrived in reception the friendly, cheerful and efficient member of staff handled my collection so well, I felt it only right to comment on how pleased I am I called Camel. Thank you!

A company that does what it says
A friendly and relaxed experience from the time the rep Andy came to work our an estimate to install French windows and which we thought was very competitive (we had other quotes), to the end of the job Sam and Terry arrived on time on the appointed day, they were polite and extremely clean workmen, we felt relaxed and confident in the way they carried out each task. Each day they left the area very clean and safe for us. We are so happy with our new doors and the workmanship we have no complaints just applause for them.

We contacted Camel glass to get a quote for some windows and French doors in our bungalow.
Very speedy response we were given two options of designs which we had not thought about , but they look fantastic.
Sam, Terry and Chris came out to fit them very friendly and did a first class job .
We really are pleased with the final product and would highly recommend them.
5 * plus !!!!

Inspiration Door
We used Camel Glass after seeing at (I think) a Grand Designs exhibition. We wanted something none standard in width and something perhaps "different" in finish and appearance and we were very impressed but what Camel Group could offer. We are delighted with the door and side windows supplied. I have seen some negative comments on communication. This is not what we found at all. Our main contact, Bruce, the Production Manager, was excellent in working with us on design changes to suit our particular requirements. The fitting was done by our own fitter but the dimensions were perfect. I have to say in communicating over a few issues along the way, it was always Bruce who helped us resolve them. So big thanks to Bruce and his team for producing a great product for us.

Poor communication from the start
I had read the reviews. Some good, some bad but nothing too serious except, "They do not return your calls" I rang with a French door and composite front door to be replaced and possibly 9 windows. Guess what!!!! It may be nose off to spite face but that's life or £14000 + not going their way.
