Do not open an account with Chase - Run

We have a 95-year-old elderly dementia mother with a Chase IRA/CD account. Due to her condition, we cannot take her to a branch. Our lawyer drafted a Calif Power of Attorney. In CA only two witnesses are required. No notary is required unless you are buying/selling real property. We submitted this POA several times and they keep rejecting it because they want it on their form and notarized. We have gone to three branches, submitted paperwork to their legal department all to no avail. Our attorney talked to their legal who said to fill out yet another form and notarize it and mail it and this would resolve it. Well, that was a dead end. After waiting two weeks, we inquired and they said it was mailed to the wrong address. We mailed it to the address stated on the form and the one their legal department stated. This cost us $100 to overnight. Upon follow up we talked to JP Morgan who sends us to Chase who route us thru several people who all say "Sorry". Then they send us back to the branch who can't do anything. We have been working this nightmare for over a year. The bad part is that we need this money to pay for her care.
Stay away from Chase. They don't know what they are doing, nobody has any power to solve the problem, and they just keep moving you on to someone else. They are good at saying "Sorry".

100% Duplicitous Double Balance Scheme

Chase Visa cannot define or explain why they show a “current balance” that is completely different than the “total amount due” when the current balance is well over a thousand dollars more. How are those two “amounts due” possibly different. Especially when they show a minimum payment due amount also. I called them for a thorough explanation about this and it took forever to get out of their AI hell. Then a “live agent” (clearly not from within the United States) gets on the line and cannot clearly explain it to me either without repeated the same thing over and over again saying it’s a balance left over from the previous month. When I show them that I fully paid them what was supposedly the full balance they say that I only paid the current amount due. I say well if that was the total amount due then why isn’t that the full current balance. I ask them why they simply cannot tell me the full amount that is due which I can pay that will
Achieve a zero balance with them. They could not understand my plain English question so I had to step out of character and quite loudly exclaim that Chase is The Worst Bank I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with in the over 50 years I’ve been banking. I have cancelled the card and am still trying to get a straight answer as to what I actually owe them. I cannot in good conscience recommend Chase to anyone. Not even my worst enemy.

Applied for the Chase freedom unlimited…

Applied for the Chase freedom unlimited credit card. I having an excellent credit score. On my TransUnion report. Less than 7% credit to debit ratio. And having an outstanding chance possibility score with credit karma. I did decided to give it try. The application went to review process. After waiting more than 7 days to get an answer. I get a letter that stated I needed to call to verify some details. When I call. They made unfreeze my report again. I had done so when I originally applied mind you. After being put on hold for more than 15 minutes. I was told that I would get an answer in 4 to 10 days in the mail. But I could call back in 3 days to get an update. I decided to call back. After once again going through the same routine. I was told that they needed to verified my identity. A link to was sent to upload some documents. I uploaded my driver’s license, and social security card. I was advised to call back in couple of hours. To the phone number I was speaking on. When I call I got a recording. And it did not allow me to advance. So I waited until the next day. When I call back I had to through the same system. After waiting for about 10 minutes. The operator told me that application was denied. Due to that the pics I sent were not clear. In my opinion they were because I had made sure. All this that only thing I got was frustration and a feeling ding a my credit report. Save your time. Don’t bother with this bank. It is no wonder they are in the tank

At the beginning

At the beginning, Chase was very responsive and helpful. However, once my account was opened, communication completely stopped. No follow-ups, no explanations, and no clear support when issues came up.
The most concerning part is that a business credit card was opened without my application or consent. I only realized this after seeing a hard credit inquiry on my report. There was no prior communication or clarification about this.
The lack of transparency and communication after onboarding was extremely disappointing and stressful. I expected much better from a bank like Chase.

Beyond awful in every conceivable way

Beyond awful in every conceivable way. Chase outsourced all of it's support overseas to the most budget people they could find. Chase's support staff is outrageously BAD. Dealing with any claims, fraud, chargebacks, or any serious issues are met with complete cluelessness and incompetence. There are massive language barriers and the overseas support people simply ignore you and do whatever it takes to get you off the phone.

I tried updating my email address, mailing address, and needed to correct my name (because they couldn't even get that right) and it took more than six phone calls before it was all resolved.

I've since closed all my accounts with Chase including my retirement and investment accounts. You cannot trust Chase with your money; don't even waste your time.

if I could give them a zero I would

if I could give them a zero I would. They are horrible and have just made my life so miserable., And I had a stroke so I have a hard time already with life. There’s so many things I don’t even know where to begin. They did not protect my account like they promised and I had hackers going into my checking account and pretending they were me and requesting credits on my stuff. When I realize it happened I called them told him I wasn’t the one that did this. That’s when they told me that they were going into my account and doing this. So my error was listening to them because they told me that they would make my account 10 times harder to get in so I didn’t have to open a new bank account. Well a few months later these idiots went into my account and they requested a credit for $2000 which was my rent for the month before. How they didn’t catch this I don’t know why would I do this no question no nothing. I called them when I realized that it had happened, because I got a call from my rental office telling me that I had requested a credit. So first they put the money back in my account then they take it out my account was so messed up I had about I was like -1900 in my account. So I couldn’t even get anyone in the fraud department to explain how they were able to do this if you got if they told me my account was gonna be protected. It wasn’t and they couldn’t answer. Not only that but when this all happened, I got no call from the fraud department. They asked me no questions about it . I could’ve given them the name of the company that did it, I had phone #s. I had all this information and they didn’t even try to investigate what happened. So now let’s go 2 months later. I went to CVS and I had to take an Uber, to buy my son a late Christmas present. It was an apple Apple Card. As soon as I bought it it didn’t go through because they flagged it. So I called them I told him as me that did it. When again to try to buy it still couldn’t. Then I tried to get an Uber back to my place and I couldn’t even get I could do nothing. They literally froze my account so I couldn’t do anything I was stuck in CVS for about two hours. I finally had to have my son come and get me. so now they want to overprotect my account they couldn’t protect me what I needed protection but now everything I do is questioned. So now I’m gonna talk about what happened to me yesterday. I got locked out of my iPhone and I had to lose all my information but I got it back and so for like two days I had no idea what was going on with my bank account. I also will mention that I was laid on paying a phone bill so they turned my phone off. So I tried to get in and of course I had to verify myself. My options were send to my number to my phone, had them call me or scan my ID. Well because my phone had been turned off I couldn’t send a message through my phone, I couldn’t have them call me, so I scanned my ID. Now help me make sense of this because then asked me for another form of ID. I’m not sure why did they think somebody stole my ID? To me that’s the best way to know it’s me. So when nothing worked I called them thinking they could help me. Well of course they couldn’t I’m locked out on my account, and there was nothing they could do. So I asked to speak to a manager. I was on the phone for over an hour, and never got a hold of a manager. I cannot wait to move my money to somewhere else, and let me just also mention that I have been with this bank for over 10 years. Worst bank ever. I don’t know if they read these. Most likely they don’t.

Chase's inability the handle my charge card charges which are large over $1000 even though they've been pre approved

Chase continues to deteriorate I'm a private client within their bank every time I go to use my credit card with them I'm doing large purchases it gets declined I approve it through the chase app send a text message it still continues to get declined invariably what happens is the company I'm putting the charge to after two times can no longer use this card I have to now go to a different card their fraud services are terrible
if you are out of the country and you have to speak with them many times my service on my phone is that the best depending on where I am in the world the entire situation even though I've approved it through my text messages it's not appropriate when I speak with their fraud services India whole situation is poor when I speak with the bank directly they say there's nothing they can do about it it's unacceptable for their high net worth clients or even for their normal clients it's inappropriate it doesn't service appropriately

Chase let a company take my money over…

Chase let a company take my money over and over and over again then a month after the company had repeated my account they decided to take $165 me thinking it was settled and they already replaced what they refunded now over drafting my account! Right when I need to go grocery shopping and rent is due. This was a bank I trusted now they are going to continually over drafting me untill my money comes and I won’t have enough for rent!
Customer service was not helpful during any of this process! They hung up on me twice! They didn’t care when the company just kept taking payments they wernt owed when they owed me already. Chase did not let me know I owed them any money until they overdrafted my account!

you are the product, not the service

just find a credit union, this is not so much a bank as a mafia. that will profit off you, feel inconvenienced by you, and ignore you. they are your link to your money, and they look at customers like bugs. just pick a credit union.

Can anyone believe that Chase requires 10 days to get a $2,000 local check (Not out of state bank check) cleared? Bad check processing system or policy Chase has!!!

WORST BANK EVER

After today’s experience, I have lost trust in Chase Bank. Customer service was inconsistent, information conflicted, and there was no meaningful follow‑up. The absence of responses to legitimate reviews and complaints is concerning. I would not recommend Chase to anyone who values transparency and reliable access to their own money. Not even my worst enemy.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrific bank in every way.

I'm a brand new customer and Chase. My card was stolen before I even got it in my mailbox. There was fraud on it and I called Chase about it. What did Chase do? Lock my account and ruin the balance transfer that was in place. Now the transfer won't happen and when I called customer service all they said was 'Oh well nothing we can do." This bank is a scam and any using them needs to take out their money immediately.
