Called into Chase Direct today for items i needed, got what i wanted and had very brilliant service, the shop is very well stocked with quality musical instruments / amps and most items people will need. I will be calling again to this shop.

Chase is an amazing shop, lovely staff who are always happy to help! I’ve bought a few guitars and equipment here and the quality of product is amazing. Highly recommend 10/10 experience every time

Went in there to ask for intonation services for my electric guitar, and ended up buying a lovely classical guitar. Nice place and has kind helpful customer service!

What a fantastic find. We are staying in Manchester for Christmas and wanted to find a piano so our daughter could play for her Grandma. So literally just before before closing on Christmas Eve we found Amriks shop. He welcomed us in (all 6 of us) and let us upstairs to the piano room. We enjoyed a good 20 minutes of playing which made our Christmas. Magical! Thank you so much Amrik. Becky and family

Really amazing friendly service here - I’d forgotten how much I enjoy just browsing music shops in person and Amrik lets you take your time getting lost in the chord books and instruments- this is a gem in the Northern Quarter that I would recommend to anyone- keep local music shops alive! Very helpful and friendly

Was looking for guitar strings and they helped me to get a selection to decide upon. Took me through the different gauges and brands that they had.

I also enquired about instrument repairs to which they were very accommodating.

One of the friendliest shops in Manchester and the owner is very knowledgeable.

Judging by the reviews here, it sounds like using the in person store is a great experience, and highly recommended, unfortunately my experience with chase direct was buying from them as an online seller, and was a much less positive experience.

I ordered a tanglewood 3/4 classical guitar through their storefront on ebay that was on sale.

For context, this is a budget guitar, when ordering a budget guitar you shouldn't be surprised if the item needs a setup, and you shouldn't expect any vip treatment, totally reasonable.

However the item I received was not only horribly packaged and lacking adequate protection, but the guitar itself was unplayable, to the point I'm wondering if the item was actually b-stock masquerading as a regular guitar on sale.

Every other guitar I've purchased, including cheaper purchases such as a £60 bax music own brand fazley guitar, and a £99 pound vintage Statesboro parlor, have all come with adequate protection, being double boxed, they've also all been made very well playable with a setup by myself.

The Tanglewood from chasedirect has the worst intonation issues I've ever seen, it's not just a saddle that needs a bit of filing, issues that a set up hasn't been able to solve, I suspect the bridge is misplaced and is going to need work done from a professional guitar tech. Way too expensive of a job for a guitar of this price.

It also has a bit of general wear and tear, scratches and an huge amount of dust collected on the tuning machine rollers, also unlike all my other purchases it didn't come with an allen for the truss rod, it also didn't come in the nylon gig bag I saw this guitar be packaged with in other locations selling it, all this further making me think this is an old ex display or b stock item labeled as 'on sale'.

As stated above, literally every other guitar I've ever ordered online has been double boxed, this was just the thin cardboard box housing the guitar in some bubble wrap, how it didn't get broken on the way to me I don't know, but the box itself had taken a few knocks and had become dented/softened in several locations.

Looking at some other reviews here, chasedirect have refused full refunds for some people returning faulty items, the packaging this was sent to me in wasn't adequate for one trip, let alone a return one, and I don't have means to arrange alternate packaging, as to not risk losing the guitar, as unplayable as it is, and the chance of a refund, I don't feel like I have any choice but to keep it. Especially as chasediect failed to respond to an attempt at communication through ebay.

I've already wasted time and money trying to make this thing playable, and with the amount of money it'd take to fix it's issues, I could have just gotten a better, solid top 3/4 classical for less money than this will cost me.

Very welcoming shop, was very kind to me and my girlfriend and let her play a SpongeBob guitar that she really liked the look of and also gave her a SpongeBob dvd

Friendly, kind, funny and wise. What a brilliant experience. Was very clear we were just browsing but the shopkeeper allowed my daughter to test out guitars and keyboards at her leisure. A lovely experience, we will definitely be back when it's time to upgrade her guitar.

Originally went in to purchase a 9V square battery that I needed last minute for a gig. The owner said that unfortunately they had ran out but without hesitation offered to give me one out of an acoustic he had hung up for sale. Very kind gentleman to go out of his way for a new customer who had never walked through the door prior. Will definitely be returning and very thankful for his help and time.

I came once looking for a guitar in the Manchester store and the customer service was amazing the owner is very nice and helped me narrow down my choices of instruments a huge selection and lovely atmosphere

After getting back into guitar after about 10 years I thought I’d go into an actual shop to get a new set of strings and a couple other bits I needed rather than just getting them from Amazon or somewhere else online… and I’m glad I did! I was served by Amrik and what a helpful gentleman this man is. After asking for recommendations on what kinda strings I would need for my dreadnought he gave me a few options and talked me through each one. Absolutely fantastic service and an absolute top bloke!

Also although I wasn’t in the market for a new guitar I did have a look around and they have some really good looking guitars on some really good prices. Would highly recommended going here to anyone! Keep your local music shops alive and shop in person people!

Wow Simply the best, I bought a nice blues guitar, I wanted something different and thanks to the sales man Amrik in guiding me in the right direction I found what I was looking for, very happy.

Extremely polite customer service. Both gentlemen were very talkative and welcoming. Had a struggle finding the perfect product as I required exact dimensions for a case, however Amrik continued looking in the stockroom and found exactly what I needed. And for a great price. The kindest staff I’ve came across for a long time. Support your local music shop.
