I paid for a round ticket but did not got confirmation. A guy called up with heavy accent stating that ticket not available and wanted charge additional $300 for a ticket. He told if i do not buy,they will penalize me $200 for service. Frauds. They bought one way wrong ticket charging $120 service fee. I changed my credit card and now I am disputing charges. Avoid. These peoples are scams.

They use various other companies, almost all of them are scammers. The companies affiliated with them use the bait and switch tactic.

Bait and switch they sold me a round trip ticket then said only one way was available but the second part of the trip was not available and had to pay 800 more to get . Do not buy from this website. Repeat do not buy from them.

I had a highly disappointing and frustrating experience with CheapFlights.com, which I now believe to be a scam air ticket company. Here’s a detailed account of what happened:

I booked an international flight for my family of four on their website, lured by a "promotional price." However, about an hour after making the booking, I received a call from their representative. He informed me that the tickets I had booked were non-refundable, included last group boarding, and did not allow any carry-on or checked-in bags. He then pressured me to upgrade our tickets for additional fees, which was the first red flag, as international flights typically include both carry-on and checked baggage for free.

Despite this, I decided to stick with the original tickets without any upgrades. To my surprise, the representative didn't push further and assured me that I would receive the ticket confirmation within 30 minutes. However, no confirmation arrived, though I noticed that my credit card hadn’t been charged.

Six hours later, I received another call from the same representative, who claimed that the airline had tried to charge my card but was only able to charge a partial amount, with the rest being rejected by my credit card company. This was a blatant lie, as credit card companies either approve the full amount or deny the entire transaction. Moreover, I had not received any notifications from my credit card company about any charges or rejections.

During this second call, I mentioned that I had looked at reviews about their company, and most were negative. The representative sarcastically responded, "So why did you book on our website then?" This unprofessional and dismissive attitude further confirmed my suspicions.

The representative then threatened that the partial amount charged would be non-refundable and pressured me to pay nearly double the original ticket price to cover all the upgrades he had mentioned earlier. He claimed the promotional price would not be honored due to the supposed bank rejection. I refused to agree to the new price and asked him to provide proof of the partial charge and the rejected charge so I could discuss the issue directly with the airline, given that I had a loyalty membership with them.

Despite his continued attempts to get me to pay the inflated price, I insisted on seeing the proof. He promised to send the documents to my email but, unsurprisingly, I never received any further communication.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise against using CheapFlights.com. They employ deceptive practices, bait customers with low prices, and then attempt to extort additional money through fabricated issues and threats. This company is a scam, and it’s crucial to be aware and avoid any dealings with them.

I recently attempted to purchase four basic economy tickets for American Airlines through the website Cheapflights for about $1,200. Immediately after entering my card details and proceeding with the purchase, I received a call from a representative named Phil.

Phil informed me that only two of the four tickets were confirmed, and the other two were waitlisted due to a lack of available basic economy seats on the flight. Although Phil had a strong Indian accent and was quite unprofessional, my main concern was the inconsistency in the information he provided. He stated that the two waitlisted flights were not guaranteed and offered to sell me upgraded seats at an additional $700 per flight, totaling $1,400 extra. This was unacceptable to me, so I asked to cancel the flight booking altogether.

Phil claimed that a cancellation was impossible because they had already purchased the tickets from American Airlines, which supposedly had a no-cancellation policy for basic economy tickets. This made no sense to me; if there were no tickets available, how could they have been purchased? I continued to insist on a refund, arguing that I had purchased four basic economy seats in good faith, and the fault was theirs for not being able to provide them.

Eventually, they offered a refund of $450 for the two unconfirmed flights, which was unsatisfactory because I had paid $600 for those flights. When I asked why they couldn’t issue a full refund, they cited a “splitting passengers” fee that incurred costs on their end. This was inconsistent, as they had initially stated that refunds were impossible. I refused to accept this offer, as the mistake was entirely on their part.

They pointed to their terms and conditions, which stated that if no flights were available, customers would be placed on a waitlist. However, these terms were written in tiny print and easily missed. When you purchase tickets from a website, you expect to receive the tickets you paid for, and such important terms should be clearly visible with a prominent warning. Their approach felt deceptive and misleading.

After this frustrating experience, I contacted my bank to report fraud, but my bank informed me that no charge had been made. I suspect they were trying to get me to verbally confirm the payment so they could charge me without facing legal repercussions. To protect myself, I decided to change my card number.

I suspect that cheapflights.com pre-purchases tickets and sells them after prices increase, using deceptive tactics to extract more money from customers.

Several red flags raised my suspicion during this ordeal, including their tendency to round up figures instead of providing exact amounts, speaking over me, and the noticeable background noise of other representatives, which indicated a highly unprofessional setup. It seemed like they were operating out of a small room full of “scammers” rather than a legitimate company.

Bait and Switch. Booked our-flights this morning, A few hours later we have a message to call after an email saying our flights are confirmed. Now the price is higher by $200. We called our credit card company to tell them what is going on and then proceeded to call back and cancel our flights. First agent said we had to pay more. Second agent said our credit card hadn’t gone through. Avoid at all costs.

Con con con. It shows the price way way cheaper than the actual price. When you reach end of the booking the price suddenly jumps up. Never trust this website

I wish I had read reviews before I booked through them. I have called so many time to correct a simple error on name to match what is on the passport. They want to charge $400, even though I gave it to them from the beginning. It's their mistake. Never, never book through this website. You may save a few hundred, but it will cost you much more in the end with seats, possible checking luggage, and now getting the name corrected. The most horrible company I've ever dealt with!

Oh my GOD, the biggest crooks. They just told me I cannot take bags on the flight because it is a discounted fair. Why would that matter when I have to pay for the baggage anyway? He claims he's calling the airline to get approval. What did I get myself into?????

DO NOT USE. They will call you and tell you that the flight you chose is somehow magically sold out and that you have to choose something 2-3x more expensive. Currently making it a hassle to get my money back as well. Stay away.

Don’t be fooled by this site. The flight numbers and times do not exist. If you look up the flight directly from the airline, it will show a completely different time and flight number. They want you to call so they can book you to a real flight that is close to 100% mark up from what’s quoted on their website. This company is a scam. Don’t waste your time or money with them.

I booked online and never got an email verification that my flight was booked. They called me yesterday and said if I wanted a bag that I would have to pay for another ticket. They told me it was non refundable but no where on the website does it say that. They refuse to refund my money. I cancelled everything so I'm out over $300. I told them I will fight to get my money back. I also told them that I couldn't trust them with my ticket being available.

Cheap vuelos! I would have given them 0 stars! It's a scam! You book a flight get a confirmation number. Noone calls you then you try to check in and it doesn't exist. Then you call them and tgey inform you that it was a restricted flight and airline already charged you so they can't refund the money but there is no reservation ...then they make you pay an arm and a leg and inform that now they can refund your original payment. My friend had the same exact thing happen they even say the same things! Please don't book through them!

This website is the feeder to other discounted airfare websites that are completely fraudulent like SmartCheapFares. You pay for a ticket that doesn't exist. They send a "confirmation code", but it is not a confirmed ticket. When pressed, they say it is a "stand-by" ticket and to go to the airport and maybe you will have a ticket. They then try to get you to upgrade to a standard ticket that is more expensive than if you purchased directly from the airline. The agents demand a good review before they will cancel your ticket.

They will keep offering you a discount on this and that. The tickets are not real. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOU CARD, OR TURN OFF YOUR CARD ASAP!

Do not use Cheapflights! I purchased a roundtrip airline ticket (I thought). I received a call a couple hours later from an agent who tried to upsell me another ticket for $160+ more. He told me the ticket I had purchased was "standby" and that if I actually got on the flight I would be charged the "discount" ($300+). I could not get him to just cancel the flight. He kept trying to offer me other options. Finally, I told him I would not accept any of the other bookings and he agreed to cancel the charges on my credit card.
I actually feel bad for those agents who have to cheat and deceive people into buying airline tickets. What a waste of human potential.

Do not use this service!!! Do not trust the search engines Cheap Flights list. I selected TopFlightFares and They take your traveler info and credit card details and state an associate will reach out shortly to confirm, but 12hrs later we were never contacted. Tried calling multiple times same day finally got thru to someone using one of 2 different customer service numbers. They answered the phone rudely without a proper greeting did not introduce themselves nor said the company name. Gave him the reference# and he claimed we didn’t get contacted because it was sold out at that price. Then, he tried to sell me tickets that were much higher than you can get directly from the airline. Also said my card was not charged, but I will continue to monitor.
DO NOT TRUST any of these search engines. You’re Better off paying the extra from the airlines website directly for your own peace of Mind sake.

Booked rental car out of St.Pete because that's where they said the flight was arriving. Two weeks later the airport is changed to Tampa. It was incorrectly listed the first time. When I called to change airport pickup location for car rental they tried to upcharge me. I refused and wanted to cancel. They convinced me to keep rental with no extra charge. I had paid a $50 reservation fee and didn't want to pay remainder until I got the actual car. After booking, they called back just to 'confirm the card I wanted to use at the airport.' It was the same card I initially reserved with. I did NOT authorize any charges over the phone. They charged $263 immediately, but with a different vendor that didn't match the original reservation fee.

When I got to Tampa there was no car at Budget for me. I called cheapflights.com and talked to a woman who said 'the man' is not there and she can't do anything until he gets back. Totally sus. Found out my rental was through Thrifty, but I was unable to get a car. I called cheapflights.com back and told them I expected a refund. They refunded the $50, but NOT the $263!? Said they 'couldn't find the charge.'

Funny, they were able to defend the charge with some questionable contract language when I filed a chargeback

My credit card company, also outsourced to miserable India, ultimately denied the chargeback.

They are definitely a dark cloud of a memory on my first vacation in over ten years.
