We had an amazing time on the Spud and Steam evening, it was so relaxing and the spuds were absolutely brilliant!

The staff were amazing, the service seamless, and overall a very enjoyable evening with friends.

A great day out. The staff are so friendly and make it so special. The trains are beautifully kept and so enjoyable to sit and watch the countryside go by.

An excellent experience of a beautiful part of British history.

A perfect example that "They dont make 'em like they used to!"

Breakfast on the Churnet Valley Railway was amazing, so well organised from checking in through boarding the magnificent train, being served a great breakfast, an interesting journey all by really friendly professional staff. Such a friendly atmosphere throughout.

Fabulous evening. The Mexican food was delicious - full of delicate flavour. The crew were friendly and attentive. But the star of the show was the steam train. Dining as she huffed and puffed across the beautiful countryside was a delight.

The train journey was brilliant. The breakfast excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
I would recommend this trip to anyone with an interest in steam journeys.

Staff were excellent, from arrival, checking in, on the platform and on the train.
The carriage was clean and comfortable and the views were lovely.

The Mexican dining experience was really enjoyable. The food was excellent and the old style carrriages took you back to a bygone era when trains were stylish and comfortable!
A great way to spend a few hours travelling through the Staffordshire countryside. Totally recommend.

Such a lovely place to visit ☺️

My family and I treated our OAP friends to the cuppa & cake experience and what a brilliant time we had too.

The experience was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly, the train journey was beautiful 😍 ...the drink and cake were delicious too (they even had a vegan option for our daughter ☺️)

Our friend who is a keen train enthusiast was over the moon to talk with the various staff about the steam train 🚂 that pulled the carriages, he said "its lovely to have the smell of the smoke up his nose again ".

I would thoroughly recommend going, we also had a wheelchair ♿️ which again the staff were more than happy to assist with and having a ramp onto the train was much appreciated.

All round it was a fabulous experience ✨️ 👌

Spent a very pleasant mid week day using the public train service, everything very well presented and tio a high standard, staff very helpful and pleasant

Im from the SVR and i thought why not make a change and be on a different railway for a change. I also use to support your 40s weekend but as i found out that you no longer do. Which is a shame. I had a great time and staff was very polite too.. many thanks for a very nice night out on the railway.

Lovely steam train and station. Staff were lovely.
Disappointing food as Luke warm soup and my friends cod meal was cold . My beef stew was nice. Could have been much better for the price. The description of the scenery was not accurate as lots of run down places to see.
Also on booking it did not state we would be sharing a table with strangers who we had to move from our seats as they bagged both window seats. They were clearly marked with our allocated numbers. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere as these strangers never smiled or spoke!
I’m sorry to say we won’t be returning.

No where did it say about sharing a table . We would have paid extra if it was an option. We told 2 staff about the cold food and both said they would tell the chef. Another review has said the same about sharing a table so not clear at all.
