My daughter passed her test just over 6 months into the policy, and you are warned that you must let them know immediately when the test is passed. I did this, and not only did I not get a refund, but I had to pay more money for the privilege of canceling !!!! Avoid Avoid Avoid

Absolutely scandalous the way this company treated my daughter when she had to cancel the policy due to trauma from a fatal car accident with a £94.24 charge.. stay well clear will never use this company again

Stay clear of Collingwood
So many negative replies for Collingwood, i would stay clear.
They comply with the "regulations" and use this to their advantage to ensure that you are truly stung for fees, and if you pass your test or need to cancel at any point, you will get practically nothing back from your policy. I cancelled one after around 3 months and for a policy over £200 i got £11 back after fees.
They try to claim that Collingwood Insurance Services and Collingwood Insurance are two completely separate non-affiliated companies, they are obviously owned by the same people and another way to maximise on their fees.
Again they will hide behind regulations, but in essence this is an unethical company who isn't interested in any customer feedback or complaints, and just interested in making as much money as humanly possible

The cost of cancelling
If you think your child will take/pass their test within a year don't buy this insurance. The devil is in the detail. Hefty cancellation fee, not proportional refunds versus time insured etc. I cancelled after 8 months and a few days and, having paid upfront, had to pay another £40 as the cancellation fee with no reimbursement for the remaining 4 months.... To be fair I should have read the small print but if they were open and honest the cost of passing your test within a year should be front and centre...

Great friendly service, easy going and Sarah who I was speaking to was a fun, chatty and helpful agent. Wasn’t the typical scripted, robotic, and boring person. Made the process easy and they also do all the work you just have to pay your premium. It’s that simple! Would highly recommend anyone looking for taxi insurance to give this company a look and hopefully you get Sarah! Definitely the best insurance consultant I’ve spoke to!

Cancellation Rip-Off
Selected for L Plate insurance as Cancellation fee was cheapest, Unfortunately they rip you off with other fees hidden in there T&C's when test is passed.
Ended up paying 80% of annual premium for 6 weeks cover.
