Went here on 2nd may 2026. Met some of my favourite actors ever. The staff were amazing and helpful. Although the prices were a bit overpriced it was definitely worth it . Thank you

Amazing Comic con
I have been to many comic cons, and this is definitely one of the best organised I've been too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can't fault them. The family fully enjoyed it too.
The photos with sets where free, that was fantastic. I can't fault it. Thank you for a brilliant day.

Atrocious
I work in events and I was horrified. Honestly, this was the worst convention I’ve ever been to. It ended up being stressful and miserable after paying a fortune.
Extremely bad management of the queueing for photos in D / E area. Queues so long they were snaking around the whole floor, stewards getting angry at people. So many upset and livid visitors who had paid and got turned away because you couldn’t organise a few simple queues. Fans actually started organising themselves into a particular queue for Mark Shepherd because 3 celebs were all within 10 mins of each other and the mix of fans stuck in the same aggravated and messy line.
Another issue was food. Considering security were so tight on stopping people bringing food in because of the vendors, there were no vendors there! Unless you wanted a donut, the only place to get food were the 2 stalls that did hash brown bites for a tenner?! Disgraceful. Hardly anywhere to sit as well. Everyone sat on the floor trying to eat.
The layout of the merchandise (as well as the poor selection) was awful. Too close together for the amount of tickets sold. Swathes of crushing crowds all trying to look at the same thing, no room for disabled people, everyone getting irritable. Myself and family gave up and didn’t buy anything.
Won’t bother next time. Spent a fortune on unhappy memories.
A good comic con but you've done better
The timeslots worked better than last year, but I was fortunate enough to be diamond pass too and this helped a lot.
The Andy Serkis queue was not managed well at all down at the front. The woman did nothing to organise it better even when told about the mess it was. The poor guy trying to tick names off the list was run ragged.
It seemed a bit of a shambles in that area for queues. The staff that were showing diamond pass people to the queues were in all honesty, useless.
It was oversold and the diamond passes were definetly oversold.
Other than that great selection of guests and the usual props. The wrestling was really good.
The arena was a great addition tbh especially for seating.

Disappointed
I have been to several conventions over the years, this one especially, and in the past it's been fantastic. This one? I was severely disappointed.
They definitely oversold on guests, with queues not being properly managed either. I saw people in front of me getting 20 items signed which held the queue up badly. Staff weren't sticking to timeslots and I also saw a few people skips queues by entering the diamond pass queue without having a diamond pass. They were even letting people join the queue as normal when they hadn't prepaid, it was utter chaos!
Vendors themselves, when I wasn't queuing for well over an hour per guest, were disappointing. It was the same stuff I've seen countless times, pop figure stands, plush/soft toy stands, mass produced prints, etc. They did have a few self published authors and lesser known artists which was refreshing but that was it.
Getting around the venues was alright, blue area was fine but to get to red and green was a nightmare. At one point I was trapped in a crowd by the escalators as staff had stopped people from entering/leaving. At that point there was only 1 exit and 1 entrance at the same doorway, for both green and red are which put together are huge! So dangerous and I felt very uncomfortable!
Overall, I think in order to improve they need to not oversell guests (stop making the guests needing to skip lunches and breaks just to get through everyone!), have staff keep strict rules to queuing including timeslots/passes/prepaid/not paid, have a maximum on how many items you can get signed per person/per guest and organise better exit/entrance routes.
Hopefully it’ll improve.
I’ve been to roughly 10 comic cons ran by monopoly. The last two have had some really huge stars that obviously a lot of people want to see. Those that book time slots preorder tickets are not priority, meaning those that turn up get seen before those that have paid and have time slots leaving us unable to see our favourite film/tv stars. It not only leaves us frustrated but I imagine those guests that fly in from all over the world. Those that do pre book tickets should be given priority and each guest should have a time slot for those that on the day take decide. This was by far the biggest and busiest we have seen it. Couldnt move round stalls as it was far too busy. I get it’s a business they want to pack us in but it was very hot leading to some people fainting. Add this to the hours of queues doesn’t make it enjoyable. Love the fact everyone is there for the same reason and the costumes are amazing. Some of the staff are great and helpful others clearly are just as frustrated with how it runs. PLEASE PLEASE Monopoly look at how the tickets for guests are done, two years running it’s been over sold.

Good but improvements needed
This was our second visit to Liverpool Con & although it was much better organised than last time we actually struggled to fill our time with things that interested us. We had early entry at 8.30…. By 11.30 we had seen all of the attractions, browsed all the stalls & done our autos. This was mainly because there wasn’t any guests that my son was interested in seeing
My biggest recommendation would be to have more diversity in guests, more current & relevant guests to appeal to the younger crowds
I also feel like the headliner panels should be on both days - we missed out this year because they were both Sunday & we only had Saturday entry

Disappointed, severe lack of organisation and crowd control.
Saturday was far too busy to be functional. The amount of people in queues for red dwarf was astronomical, and the organisation in the red building was awful unfortunately. Next time, there needs to be better organisation and a way to split diamond passes from general admission so the number of people in one queue isn't as ridiculous. Or the simple answer is don't oversell tickets. Just because the venues CAN hold x amount of people, doesn't mean they should. Functionality and safety is far more important than cramming as many people in as possible. Due to queues and the chaotic foot traffic I only had time to meet 2 guests, one of whom I had to queue for almost 3 hours!

First Ever Comic Con
Completely honest review given it was my first comic con. Absolutely incredible the level of star you were able to get for the con and I want to thank you for getting my dream guests from LOTR! From the outside the planning and time slots etc seemed like a really good idea however due to the fact that most guests were oversold massively and the lack of queue management this meant that most of that hard work in organising time slots became fairly useless. I did spend most of the day Saturday queuing so I didn’t see everything unfortunately however what I did see was incredible including all the cosplays people put so much effort into creating.
Even though I spent the majority of my time queuing I can honestly say I would do it all again if it was for the level of celebs you got this time round.
A few notes for the improvement are:
1. Queues need to be better managed for time slots as you had so many people turning up whenever they wanted without staff checking they had the right time slot.
2. Not overselling guests as this became a huge issue given that multiple people across social media have said they are owed refunds and guests had/chose to stay after their scheduled finish times to make sure people didn’t miss out. Nobody is expecting to get a few minutes with each guest but when the majority of guests run over every time slot theres clearly a problem with too many people having tickets, some sort of actual limit on tickets for guests whereby no more will be sold after this point should be enforced and that includes pay on the day if a guest reaches their limit then no more should be sold regardless of attempting to make more profit.
3. Staff/Volunteers should be trained the day prior to the event so that everybody is on the same page and nobody provides contradictory information during the event.
Other than the above suggestions. I’m looking forward to the next and seeing the improvements made

They never learn
Posted on Facebook that you could bring in bottles of water. Then security were forcing you to remove the lids, so you couldn’t actually bring any water in with you because you’d have to carry open bottles.
Rude staff. Was shouted at by staff for wanting to leave through the other side of the building for accessibility. Kept screaming at me and made my partner cry.
Was told on social media that no branded food could be brought in. Then found out they had their own stall, that they were selling their own £4 soft drinks and other obscenely marked up items.
Extremely limited food options.
Terrible queue organisation. Allowing people to pay on the day that got priority over those who paid in advance for autographs
They can’t take criticism and always delete comments off their socials and never address the issues.
Good time but issues encountered
Overall had an enjoyable time at the event and loved meeting some of the guests but the experience was hindered by the fact disabled access tickets were sold out so my disabled partner had to stand for long periods of time in queues which was very painful and discomforting for her. What made matters worse was then seeing no queue for the disabled access which raised the question to us as to whether these were actually sold out or not. A different system is required for the disabled access as selling a certain number is not the best way as disabled people suffer for this.
The lack of seating was also a problem for my disabled partner as she can not get down to the floor.
The security was an another issue which we encountered. We did not bring any branded drinks as per it being stated they weren’t allowed so for our child we brought juice in a drinks bottle for him but we were told this was not allowed and it got poured away to then go into the centre to find no suitable children’s drinks to buy as it was only cans available.

Amazing convention as always
Amazing convention as always. Monopoly Events have put on some of the best conventions and has given my partner and I loads of great experiences. Always have a blast at the comic cons. A few things however I think could be looked at to make the experience even better is:
- Check people's timeslots.
- Lots of the staff were lovely and helpful, however some staff members created some unnecessary problems. For example, being guided to another set of stairs even though the staircase we were at had only two people walking down. Also some staff asking if they accept Scottish notes. Scottish notes are legal tender and we had specifically brought cash from home to use. It was an awkward and unnecessary experience.
- Some of the guests being oversold and some people missing out who had prebooked.
- Prepaid people should have priority over pay on the day. We had prepaid for both kevin and Jason, however the queue for kevin was so long and we worried about missing out on Jason. When we approached a member of staff they told us we'd just need to decide who we want more. Many of the people in front of us were paying on the day, so i didn't think it was fair that we'd have to miss out on meeting one of them and lose our money when we had prepaid because others decided to spontaneously get an autograph that day.

Amazing 1st Comic Con experience
Amazing 1st Comic Con experience.
This was a birthday gift for my teenage daughter who is a massive Supernatural fan and of course she had photos with Jared Padalecki, who was absolutely brilliant with us and re-did the photo after I mentioned that her collar had come up over her face. Just a shame the schedules we're not put out before the tickets went on sale as I would have booked for the Sunday not the Saturday so we could have gone to the Supernatural panel to. And for me I loved all of it being a fan of most of the show. The stalls were great and varied. And the set designs were brilliant. Loved how it was spaced out over the 2 sites as it gave us a little breather from the crowds while walking between. And the effort people put into their costumes was amazing!!. The only little thing to complain about was the people checking bags. We had stopped over in Liverpool the night and we're going home after our day there so we had only brought our backpacks to put our stuff in so we wouldn't be carrying loads of stuff around all day and they literally were taking deodorant, toothpaste, half bottles of pop, packets of chewing gum, emptying out reusable water bottles, and many more things that was just pointless.
Would definitely recommend it to others to go and will definitely be watching out for 2024s event 😁

Overall
Overall, I absolutely loved this weekend. Meeting the Shadowhunters cast was a dream come true for me as the books have been a massive part of my life for over 13 years, so it was a no brainer for me when Dom and Matt were announced that I’d be flying from Belfast to meet them. Also having all four Hobbits and Orlando Bloom, again it was a no brainer. In saying that, the queuing systems for literally every guest were a nightmare. No one checked pre-booked tickets in the non headline guests queues, meaning a lot of pay on the day people were ahead of not only prepaid people, but also diamond pass holders, which is a joke to say the least, especially when these are people who have probably prepaid for other guests too and needed to make it to other time slots. The Orlando queues were just not fit for purpose in the slightest. I booked an autograph for 12:20pm on the Sunday, and from experience with meeting Ian Somerhalder at NI con last year, I knew I wasn’t getting to meet Orlando at exactly 12:20pm, but it was chaos. Joined the queue at 12:10pm as there was only one queue at this stage, and assumed this was the right one as surely 10 minutes before my time it should’ve been. Got to the front to be told no this is the photo queue and to go back out and go to the back of the same queue, not a different queue, and start over again to be back in for 12:20pm. 5 minutes later, we were back at the top again. We asked a member of staff what was going on, and were rudely told we were in the wrong queue and needed to move to a different one, which was not marked anywhere. That was the only staff member who knew there were two different queuing systems for Orlando and where they were, no other staff member had a clue. This needs to change as it’s unfair that we are expected to just know which queue is which when there are no markings and no staff member to direct people to correct the queues, surely it wasn’t out of the ordinary to believe anyone who booked a photo for 11:40am to only start queuing at 12:20pm?
The same was an issue with the LOTR panel. Assumed the queue as the escalators was to get upstairs for the panel, so we joined it, complete unaware that the other half of the queue was outside. We were rudely told by a staff member “you’ve just bypassed 30 other people to get into this queue, get outside and go to the back.” Again, how are we supposed to know? No one was guiding people or saying the queue continued outside? The staff either need to be trained better, or they need to start bringing staff in who actually have experience with these events instead of relying on volunteers who are clearly just there to get a glimpse of the celebs. That said, we had a great day, and they layout was certainly better than before, but the staff and queuing systems seriously need to change before I would consider paying the money for flights and accommodation to attend again.

Amazing Time For a LOTR Fan!
Second time at Liverpool Comic-Con, first time meeting guests and loved every second across the weekend. Every member of staff I spoke to was friendly and really helpful (especially with meeting guests across different buildings).
I bought a diamond pass for the weekend because of all the LOTR guests and pre-con struggled to find much on social media of how beneficial they actually are, but can 100% say they are worth the money if you are meeting multiple guests each day and can afford to do so as it saves a LOT of time. That being said, my girlfriend was only meeting one guest so had general entry, but still managed to get through to see Jared in about 20 mins for an autograph/chat in her time slot.
I know that the diamond passes and guests can get pretty expensive, especially if you want photos, autographs etc. from multiple people, but you can still have an amazing time just wandering around the three buildings like we did last October on the Sunday. There are loads of stalls, live bands/shows, props/sets that are free to take pictures with and cosplayers who are happy for photos, so if you are on the fence about going, maybe get a day ticket for the next one and just go and see what it’s all about without committing a lot of money (although a warning you may end up getting hooked like we did!).
We’ve booked tickets for the Scotland Con in Edinburgh, so counting down the days!

It was phenomenal. For my first con ever, Im happy to have this be the first one for me. The attractions were awesome, the people were lovely and kind and the guests were awesome.

My first solo trip
This was my first time attending as a solo visitor to a convention. I prefer going on the Sunday as the crowds aren’t so intense.
The different zones were easy to follow, so not having a map to hand was okay! My review also ties in with my experience as an autistic gal - and found that staff in pink shirts were very helpful when reassuring me when I was in the right place for photos and panels.
This was my first time ever having accessibility, particularly the wrist band to be fast tracked in queues. This was an absolute life saver, and made my photo with Jared Padalecki just that more memorable. Mark Sheppard’s photo slot was delayed, which got me in a bit of a fluster so straight after I went to one of the sensory rooms.
If possible, for future events, it would be great to have some autism friendly lighting (coloured lights in a low lit room) to make it feel a little more of a sensory room instead of a grey box with chairs.
The panel I went to was great, but staff may need to open doors sooner as it meant that Mark S just wondered in getting people to their seats 😂 was sad that this delayed the panel and meant that it wasn’t as long as it could have been and also meant not many questions could be asked.
All being said, I had a great time and hope to return.

In general it was a good Comic con
Use to do Comic cons a lot specially this one. This weekend was good but a bit chaotic. Almost every actors of lord of the rings were late and i'm not talking like 5-10 minutes late more like 30 to 50 minutes. I understand that a lot of people were coming to meet them but maybe next Time try to do more or bigger sessions and also give information to the visitors! Because most of the staff had no idea or information so us visitors were stressed and Lost. Also had quite an argument with the security who was managing Yesterday the Access to the upper floor to the red area. I had my Supernatural duo and they wouldn't let me in because i quote: there were no Time on my ticket. I try to explain to them that there was only one session for that pictures but they wouldn't listen. It was stressfull and frustrating. I almost missed it because of them and because they wouldn't let me in for 20min it delayed all my schedule so i actually miss the last session of one of my next picture... But In general it was a good Comic con.

Need better disability access
Firstly me and my dad had a really good couple of days, the staff were very helpful when they knew what they were talking about! But there were still many issues, so many times we spoke to staff and were told one thing then suddenly another member was telling us something else. For example we were told we had to queue in the normal queue for the Star Wars talk even though I had fast track for my wheelchair, then about 20 minutes into waiting in queue, a worker came down to say we should be at the front!
I felt the accessibility needs a huge improvement, the website says it’s fully accessible but that’s because the monopoly events believe accessibility is just ramps and wheelchair access!
I was disappointed that the talks had no one doing sign for deaf people, they was no good signing for were to buy food, and the food places were very random and the staff just pointed at what was vegan with no more information! Some queues had the wheelchair access, then some suddenly didn’t. And when we were in the wheelchair queue, other disabled people were actually going past us because the staff didn’t communicate and realise that the whole queue was disabled people.
By 10:30 on Saturday a celebrity was already behind massively, which completely ruined our schedule, this is not due to the celebrity but the poor planning of schedule. I felt sorry for the celebrities who were dragged back to autographs even though they only had 15 minutes between photos and talks! We got to the autographs at 9:30, but the celebrities didn’t arrive till around 10, so was wasted that 30 minutes or more in queues, which seems small but actually toke a bit chunk out of time to do other things! On the first day only one lift was working so there was a huge queue, meaning we almost missed a talk, this should of been fixed before the event, definitely a let down considering how many people use a lift because they can’t get up the stairs! Everyone we spoke to during the day were exhausted by the amount of changes to schedules, having to queue for 2+ hours for an autograph even though these people should of had time slots but they quickly went out the window! And most disabled people we spoke to said they were disappointed, we felt like an after thought. All of the props were not accessible by wheelchair. I understand the cars but the cardboard boxes for Barbie could have been made bigger to have someone wheeled in! The staff were still as helpful as they could be, they may need more disability training because one member tried to move my electric wheelchair, which you should never do, even if I was in a manual! We had a good time despite this because the guest celebrities were amazing and so kind! And the staff tried there best even thought there wasn’t much communication to us! Overall it needs a big improvement with accessibility, needs better scheduling, but even with all this the amazing celebrities and people we spoke to during the day made the day enjoyable! I do really hope that monopoly events listen to all these reviews because they do have a really good event that could be that much better, with just some more thought into the enjoyment of disabled people and also people in general because taking the stress out of all the change in schedule would make the day so much better!
I would also like to add that the website needs a massive upgrade, especially more information for disabled people, the website made the run up to the event so stressful because I wasn’t able to plan and know what I’m doing!
We will probably return, but would be worried about it being the same again, I’m already worried about a monopoly event I’m going to in august because the website is worst then this one and I’ve got a lot more autographs to get!

My worst ever comic con
I write as someone who has been to 10 comic cons and my experience on Saturday was the worst I’ve experienced at a convention ever.
The guidance coming into the event was that water was allowed however it turns out that bottle caps on them are not. The most bizarre and ridiculous rule I’ve ever come across! However it did rather set the tone for the day.
I had pre-booked 3 autographs on the day and I had selected a timeslot for each as requested by monopoly events in the run up. I and many others who I spoke to in queues foolishly thought that by having a timeslot it meant that only those with that slot would be allowed up and that it had been sold accordingly. We were wrong and told by crew on the day that the timeslot didn’t mean anything. This naturally resulted in ridiculously long queues and they had clearly been oversold as many people including myself did not get the autographs they wanted. I got 1 out of 3 and will be looking for refunds on the two I missed.
Photo sessions were not much better. I was in 1 queue and staff had mixed up 3 sessions into 1 line! I was asked to change lanes on 4 occasions with the last change being to go back to my original lane! It was just an absolute farce of a day!
Furthermore at lunchtime myself, fiancée and friend went to the upstairs eating area in the ‘blue zone’ however we told to leave by security as apparently it was not meant to be open but it was baffling as to why it would be open when not meant to be nor why it needed to be closed at all. About 30 mins later we spotted that people were back in the area so clearly it hadn’t been shut even when security moved us!
The positives of the day that despite the farce I did get all my photo sessions if not my autographs. The guest list was impressive and many props were available. But overall shocking experience and I am concerned to ever get an autograph at a monopoly ran event ever again!
The best Comic con in the UK.

Superbly organised, well attended and well, what an amazing guest list!
We’ve attended since the first Monopoly Liverpool! And we constantly get our minds blown show after show!!
Love Monopoly events so much. THANK YOU!!
