Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 286 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant delays and unreliable delivery services, with parcels often taking much longer than expected to reach their destinations, sometimes even being rerouted incorrectly across different states. People frequently experienced poor customer service, describing it as unhelpful and difficult to get clear answers or resolutions for their issues. Reviewers also noted that staff often failed to attempt deliveries properly, sometimes leaving parcels in unsecured locations or not leaving collection cards, despite requiring signatures. However, some customers also mentioned positive experiences, particularly with local post office staff who were described as helpful and efficient. A few other people also felt that the service for international parcels was good, and some even found the overall delivery service reliable.

I am writing thisDisputed Delivery Attempt, Poor Customer Service, and Lack of Accountability public review to…

I am writing this public review to share my experience with Australia Post (Case Ref: 71584846 / 72381094) and to warn other customers about serious issues I encountered during the delivery of my parcel.
1. Disputed Delivery Attempt and Missing Notifications
On 27/03/2026 at 8:33 AM, I received an SMS notification advising that my parcel would be delivered between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Both my wife and I were at home throughout that period. The SMS stated that if delivery was unsuccessful, the parcel would be taken to a Post Office.
At 9:30 AM, I received an email stating that nobody was available to receive the parcel. This was not true, as nobody knocked on the door or rang the doorbell. After the delivery window expired, I immediately contacted customer service and lodged a complaint. Later that day, I also submitted a written complaint by email.
The delivery record included a photograph that does not show my front door. My front door has a large letter “D” clearly visible in the upper-left corner, as well as a doorbell above the handle. Neither the letter “D” nor the doorbell can be seen in the photograph uploaded by the driver. This demonstrates that the photograph was not taken at my address and raises serious questions about whether a delivery attempt was made at all.
2. Confusing Tracking Information
The tracking information provided by Australia Post was inconsistent. At one point, the app indicated that the delivery attempt had occurred in Melbourne, Victoria, even though my address is in Perth, Western Australia.
From 30/03 to 01/04/2026, the parcel status remained unchanged and showed only that the item was in transit in Gwelup. For almost 48 hours, there was no clear information about the parcel’s location or when it would be available for collection. I did not receive confirmation that the parcel was ready for collection until 12:27 PM on 01/04/2026.
3. Refusal of Redelivery Despite Exceptional Circumstances
After being informed that the parcel was being held in Gwelup, I contacted customer service and explained that I had undergone major eye surgery on that same day. I advised that I was medically unable to drive a vehicle or lift heavy objects. The parcel weighed approximately 4.5 kg.
Despite these circumstances and my concerns regarding the disputed delivery attempt, my request for redelivery was refused. As a result, I was forced to arrange alternative transportation and personally collect the parcel from the Gwelup facility.
I later received a response in which Australia Post relied on its terms and conditions to reject any responsibility for the additional costs, inconvenience, and health risks that this situation caused.
4. Difficulties Escalating the Complaint
On 02/04/2026, after collecting the parcel, I contacted Australia Post again and requested to speak with a manager regarding the disputed delivery attempt, the tracking inconsistencies, and the impact the situation had on me.
However, I was not permitted to speak with a manager, nor did I receive a return phone call from one.
After exhausting all available complaint channels, I referred the matter to the Ombudsman, where it is currently under investigation.
This experience involved a disputed delivery attempt, inconsistent tracking information, refusal of redelivery despite exceptional medical circumstances, and significant difficulties in resolving the complaint. I believe Australia Post should review its delivery verification procedures, customer service practices, and complaint-handling processes to help prevent similar experiences for other customers.

As a small business owner

As a small business owner, saying I’m disappointed would be an understatement.
I’ve used Australia Post for many years, but my experiences over the last two years have been extremely frustrating. Multiple parcels have been marked as “delivered” when they were not. In several cases, parcels were delivered to completely wrong addresses (for example, 28 delivered to 82). The only reason some were recovered was because my customers were kind enough to knock on neighbours’ doors and search for them.
When we reported these cases, Australia Post could see the delivery photos, but refused to share them with us, even when the photos would clearly show the parcel had been left at the wrong address.
Recently, a parcel arrived damaged and one item was missing. It took almost a month of back-and-forth to resolve. Eventually I received compensation, but only at wholesale cost, not the retail value I had actually lost.
This week we had another serious issue. We paid extra for Signature on Delivery because theft is common in that area. The parcel was handed to the wrong person, who signed for it. First we were told the recipient’s name wasn’t on the parcel. Later a staff member confirmed the name was clearly visible on the parcel and that someone else had signed for it. Again, we were not allowed to see the evidence ourselves.
On top of that, Australia Post frequently charges additional fees claiming parcel dimensions or weights were entered incorrectly. We have repeatedly had to spend weeks disputing measurements that were clearly wrong.
Mistakes happen. What is not acceptable is the lack of accountability, the time spent fighting every claim, and the impact this has on small businesses. We pay for a service and expect parcels to be delivered to the correct address.
After years of using Australia Post, my confidence in the service is at an all-time low.

As someone from Norway I’ve never been more dissapointed with a delivery service. Lost two of my packages, important document left in clearance for 13 days now, and another delayed package today. Totally unacceptable Australia, you have to complain about this and get it fixed.

I'll give you 0 star if that's the thing.
Fake attempted delivery - no one at home when I was waiting at home the whole time and no truck even passed by. Shitty liar. Hope you all rot in the lowest level of hell. Hope when you need urgent medical care you'll wait for days.

MY POST BUSINESS

If I could leave a minus star, I would.

Well, Australia Post, in their wisdom, has decided to do an interface upgrade.

* No communication to businesses using their service

* Glitch number one - The add address box would not accept the address normally copied and pasted from my orders. So, I went to manual, and it would not accept the postcode. After spending time trying to work around it, I found the problem. MAKE SURE YOU BACKSPACE THE ADDRESS to activate auto-address search.

* Glitch number two - In your reference box, normally used by us to identify the actual stock we place the label on, PRINTED OUT A BLANK BOX. Creating a headache to find the already processed orders, now out of order due to dates, so we could manually write the stock on the label to assist to us to identify our orders while packing.

All that profit you make Australia Post, surely you could afford to properly test your interface update before launching it onto your poor unsuspecting MY POST BUSINESS clients.

Added by Road W. 10h Date of experience 13/6/2026

* Clitch number 3 - Austpost did advise it would no longer accept booking without EITHER an email or mobile added.
The most recently discovered clitch with the updated Mypost Business booking platform is with the addition of new selections of A. Parcel Locker B. Parcel Collect C. Residential/business

My instance was a Parcel Collect sale on Ebay. So, all went well, l entered customer mobile (as all ebay seller know ebay will not disclose buyers emails)

Austpost MPB would not accept the booking without both an email and mobile, contradictory to their communications.

Surely, Austpost are aware that ebay DO NOT disclose buyer emails to sellers. In fact it is against ebay policy to request a buyers email.

So how on earth can an ebay seller send to a parcel collect or locker through any other platform than Austpost?

Solution: l had to book the postal label through ebay labels, with no issues being without the email address, and pay more than usually paid in Mypost Business as l am band 4.

I would love to get some feedback from other Mypost Business customers.

Warning ⚠️ warning ‼️

Warning ⚠️ warning ‼️
Do not use Australia Post / DHL Express Philippines to send parcels overseas
They are frightfully expensive. Their people are not equipped to handle the types of deliveries and when they make a mistake that causes the local government to charge more they put the charge back on the customer and hide behind emails
If you don't pay they also threaten to destroy the package
Do not use them

If i could provide no stars i would. They redirected my package which was sent from 30 minutes away from me to another state. Upon calling them they blamed the sender rather than acknowledging their mistake and when i told them its a medical package they said they can’t do anything to help at all. Honestly this is why people are turning to private couriers and Amazon.

LPO staff member continues to refused service due to ethnic background

LPO staff member continues to refused service, Performance and Review Assessment training.
Unfortunately the only staff that works at local post, appears to be refusing service continuously since early March 2026.
When asked she simply replied "weve run out of paper label stickers " .
01/06/2026 - Staff claimed printer is fixed, however needs paper label.
29/05/2026- Staff said it's the printer label that is broken.
26/05/3026-- staff claimed paper label jas jist run out, she then said she was contacted Aus Post over the phone twice already. TBA on availability.
Whole month of February 2026 -
3 weeks no label for printer,
March 2026 - I was advised no printing label on sites due to move.

Delivery not attempted or declined - a lie.

Tracking saying parcel will arrive today - a couple of hours later - I am sitting in my front room with a view of my front verandah and pathway - receive a message from Australia Post - "receiver declined delivery" we were unable to deliver your package - no card left - no photo - and no attempted delivery at time stated - have security cameras - why lie ?

Outdated system costs businesses their discount tiers

Review Title: Outdated system costs businesses their discount tiersAustralia Post has a frustrating flaw in its retail system. If you pay for shipping at the counter and forget to scan your MyPost Business account, you cannot add the sale afterward. Even if you have the physical receipt, customer service cannot link it.Because of this rigid system, businesses miss out on the accumulated spend needed to reach higher discount tiers. In 2026, not having a simple digital tool to claim a missed transaction with a receipt barcode is ridiculous. Fix this system so small businesses don’t lose money over a simple human mistake.
It is time for change and get with the times…
