I wanted to wait until the whole process was fully complete before reviewing Contact Solar, as there were definitely positives as well as some frustrations along the way.

We're very pleased with the solar and battery system itself. The surveyor was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, and the installation team were also professional and pleasant to deal with on the day.

The overall process took around four months from signing the contract in early April to everything being completed at the end of July. While that may not be unusual given demand for solar installations, I think clearer expectations at the start and more proactive communication throughout would have made the experience much smoother.

There were a few occasions where I found myself chasing updates or trying to piece together information myself, particularly around the ducting and installation planning. There were also some details I would have appreciated knowing upfront, such as the mounting method being used and the fact that bird-proofing wasn't included as standard.

There were also a couple of issues during the installation process. I was charged £175 for the power disconnection and reconnection and was advised the interruption would be around 15 minutes, but it ultimately lasted closer to two hours. Contact Solar acknowledged this wasn't as expected and offered a £50 goodwill payment, which I felt was a fair gesture.

The biggest concern was damage caused to our newly landscaped patio and garden during the scaffolding installation and removal. As we'd only recently completed the work, this was understandably disappointing. Initially, communication around resolving this was slow and I became concerned that the issue wasn't progressing.

However, I do want to give credit where it's due. After raising my concerns, Contact Solar took the matter seriously and worked with me to reach a resolution. In particular, Kate was excellent throughout the latter stages of the process. She was proactive, responsive and genuinely seemed to care about getting things sorted properly. The patio damage has now been resolved and I'm satisfied with the outcome.

Overall, I'd say Contact Solar delivered a good system and, importantly, stood behind their work when problems arose. The experience would have been considerably better with stronger communication and coordination throughout, but the willingness to put things right and the support from Kate in particular leaves me with a much more positive impression than I had during some of the more frustrating moments.

Our solar system experience from design to installation was very positive, in fact we highly recommend contact-solar to anyone seeking to install solar.

The actual installation and explanation of how it all works was very good. The app, though, I was concerned about. I have downloaded it, but will have to seek advice as to how to link it up to my system. I'm assuming that once this is done I will be able to actually work my way around the app. Probably a generational thing, as I am 74 years of age and haven't had much use for or of apps.

I was having problems changing the grid charging times on my solar system after getting new hours with a change of tariff. I sent a quick email off to the support guys at Contact Solar, a couple of hours after they returned to work after the weekend the job was done.
I find the support people at Contact Solar to be very helpful and always willing to help.

With only a few small glitches our installation was planned and put into effect smoothly. The glitches were corrected straight away, so I'm a happy customer. All the Contact Solar staff were helpful from the proposal stage to the handover.

Everyone I have spoken to from the office colleagues to the on site team have been very helpful and polite. A bit of a wait for the install date, but on the day it was really quick.

Had a guidance call with Ben at Contact-Solar regarding use and setup for the SunSynk Solar Inverter System App. Ben was very knowledgable and, even though I have a fairly good understanding of the App, he was able to answer a few outstanding questions for me. A very useful and FOC call.

Superb installation. Team arrived on site as per agreed start time. Worked hard and diligently in very hot conditions. Installation team were very polite and explained what was happening at each stage. Follow by handover team was timely and concise.

From the installation their support has been superb. Any questions about the app have been answered promptly and their app works well and is a mine of information. The installation was professionally done and the system was explained to us. The only problem we encountered were delays in the installation date, which were disappointing but we're very happy now the system is up and running.
