Worst company to deal with, they do not respect or care about their client. Called them to assist with my car breakdown. It was Sunday at 8.00pm they advised it will take 1 hour as it’s emergency as I have little child and wife with me. Two hours later no one turned up and then they just called me back to say that I have to find your own transportation to back home. It was too late on Sunday night to find any way to go home as I as in middle of nowhere then I had to call police to assist. The customer service Rob was rude hang off the phone on me several times and looks like he was the only one working at this night as he was picking up my call every time. Rob said that He does what his Suppervisor James say! And funny he said its your problem to breakdown on Sunday where no garage open( like I can chose when I can break my car)
Asked for £98.40 as precaution payment and I found that they charged me £198.40. Tried to call next day to complaint and they promised to investigate which I can understand however they responded to me by email after 30 minutes saying that’s was pandemic time but they did not even apologised or acknowledged any points of my complaint.
Tried to call many time James refused to take my call or take to me when I insisted to talk to him he quickly took the call and without saying any apologies he said Dan is dealing with my case and hang off the phone. Am not surprised now of the rude customer service attitude of their supervisor has no skills or manners!!
By the way they said also the car has been breaking down before then I replied what’s wrong with that I have unlimited call out paid for and this again is different fault and how can not protect car to be Brocken down however they do not respect what their contract says.
I have contacted the ombudsman and the other service complaint service organisation. And will leave a well deserved a negative review feedback.
Lastly I would not recommend to deal with at all and just safe your time and money.

Phoneline was busy initially but got through 10 mins. later. Breakdown service arrived much earlier than estimated time, very pleasant guy. Have used this company for breakdown service for 2 years and had 3 or 4 callouts - breakdown companies always arrived earlier than estimated time and I will renew again next year.

I called at 5.45. the man arrived by 6.30am. very polite.
The lady called me from the office a couple of hours later to see if everything went ok. 5 stars from me. Keep up the good work.

Left Myself, My Partner and 2 young children stranded on a busy A road 150 miles from home. Here is the history of my problem.. I Called them out as I left my headlights on outside a restaurant and flattened my battery, 1st they sent a recovery truck which was not needed as only needed a jump start, and the guy had no means of doing this, so had to call again and explain again so they sent a guy who within minutes got the car going again and did some checks on the battery and confirmed the battery was good but had been ran down due to headlights being left on, this took 3 hrs from calling them. A couple of weeks later, while driving back from holiday my cam belt snapped and the car died, I called them to help and was informed they wont pick me and my family up because I did not go to a garage to have the health of my battery checked after the previous call out, I explained their recovery guy had checked the battery and informed me the battery was healthy, but the woman still insisted I should have took it to a garage to have it checked and now Im not covered. I explained I was stuck 150 miles away from home with my family on a busy dual carriageway, she then said we can get you home but it will cost you £590 as you are not covered. I just put the phone down and called my home garage who arranged pick up for £190. DO NOT GIVE THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY A PENNY OF YOUR MONEY, GO WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY LIKE RAC OR AA.

I suffered a breakdown and called for assistance, apparently my policy had not renewed (despite me having all my policy documents, membership number etc with me...) they couldn't find me on the system, but would send someone if i paid a premium. Given i hadnt travelled with a wallet (i was only expecting to be 20 mins to pick something up) so i was left stranded at roadside with my young son for over 2.5 hours until i had a friend come to my assistance. I would also highlight i have been a (now ex) customer for several years but they would not assist in any way. I would hate to think if it had been my wife. Administratively an utter disaster. Steer clear.

I was not happy with their help and assistance, in fact no help so I will not be renewing

Been with Cover my breakdown for two years and they are fabulous. The service is as good as any of the other larger breakdown companies.
Always helpful and give me the help I need when I need it most. I won’t change to anyone else. Thank you

Have been with this company now for a number of years. When I have needed assistance they have been first class. Good response time and very polite and helpful. Premium increasing each year but that is understandable as the car is getting older, still a very competitive price though. Would definitely recommend.

Same experience as Jordan.
Took out a personal cover with home start. Rung up to report my vehicle is failing to start at home and was questioned several times then after telling them it's been sat on drive way since December due to national lockdown and snow, in came the sales pitch of paying an additional amount.
The cars fine and just needs a jump start, but they can't be assed. Take your money elsewhere.

Converted vans beware - if your van has a bed in it, it invalidates the breakdown cover and they won't rescue you. It doesn't say this in the contract (it only specifies the vehicle must be a car, van or motorbike) but when you really need help, suddenly they pose the question about a bed in the back and you discover that your van is reclassified as a 'camper van'. Paying for this non-existent cover was a complete waste of money.

I’ve never had any problem with my car so I haven’t had to use your services but I’ve been told you are a very good company

Don't bother, purchase your cover elsewhere. Took 30 mins for call to be answered. I only gave this 1 star because you have to tick a star to continue to write the review.

The car had a flat battery after the snowy weather. I called the CoverMyBreakdown Assistance to come get into the car as the lack of electrics didnt let the doors open.
They arrived after one hour with a pick up truck to take the car to the nearest garage. However, once they arrived, the pick up driver said that he has to go get another car to jump start the car.
In about half an hour, I got a call that the driver said that there was not enough space for the pick up truck to take the car, and that it was our fault for this. However, the entire road was empty with no cars around. There was enough space for the pick up truck to pick the car.
The company said that for them to come again to jump start the car, I would need to pay extra. They said it was my fault that they couldnt pick the car up and any further assistance from the company would need to be paid by me. If unsatisfied, I had to complain to the company.
This left my car stranded, broken down, and I was unable to go anywhere. Luckily, someone from the local garage agreed to come to the house to jump start my car for free, which was very simple.

Waited for 30 mins just for someone to pick up and explain they have no mechanics! they just tow you to nearest garage! - I could have arranged that with local garage myself in that time.

I would avoid these at all costs. Took out a personal cover with home start. The price was easily the best when comparing against other companies + there was no excess.
I recently rung up to report my vehicle is failing to start at home and was questioned several times to check I hadn’t left lights on, radio etc. Then once I confirmed I hadn’t I was told because of the age of the vehicle it’s likely it’s a pre existing fault so if I want to book someone in to come out I would have to pay an additional £98.
Absolute rip off and seem intent on doing any thing to avoid having to send someone out.

Driving home through floods the other night in North Wales, I realised I also had a flat tyre. As the roads were so bad I decided to hobble home and not call out Recovery through floods. Next morning I called them, and they told me I was not covered! I said I must be as they do automatic renewal. After nearly an hour on phone to 2 people, they said the renewal e.mail had been returned, so they phoned me once. When I did not answer, they cancelled my Recovery Cover...I had been driving since September with NO COVER....a lady on her own at night...subjected to danger through incompetence. They said they would allow me to join again, but would also have to pay over £130 to have the tyre fixed, all through their incompetence and lack of Customer Care.

Awful service. I would advise caution when using this company and would definitely recommend looking into different options. Last night I was left stranded alone as my car broke down at 11pm, I contacted my breakdown cover who refused to send help and implied that it was my fault that my car broke down even though I explicitly told them I had no idea what happened. When I eventually had to find help from other services they confirmed that the issue was indeed not my fault. The man I contacted from MyBreakdownCover, Austin, specifically tried to scare me, in an already very anxious situation, and threatened to take my money regardless. I was extremely disappointed with this service and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Beware - In a number of reviews where customers have mentioned CoverMy as the provider, the company representative has commented that it's not their company. However, I am selecting Covermybreakdown on CompareTheMarket website, and when I click to proceed I am taken to company page of Cover My, Kempton House, Kempton Way, PO Box 9562, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG31 0EA. So, it's the same company and they are just fobbing the customers off pretending to be a different company.
Update: with reference to the response from the company below, I still suspect there is something not quite above the board. Users can check this for themselves - run a quote for breakdown cover on Confused.com, select 'Covermybreakdown' from the results and follow the links to proceed. When you land at the company's page, you will see 'Covermybreakdown' at the top of the page, and 'CoverMy' at the bottom of the page in company info section (with the Lincolnshire address).
Buy your cover from them if you like (I wouldn't!) but be aware of this anomaly.
