Can't really complain

Can't really complain,placed order for £2500+bike before seeing reviews then saw all the bad feedback and my heart dropped,8 days later bike is here no scratches nothing at all at fault ,only thing I can pull them on was Comms or the lack of it ,apart from that ok would of been 5stars just Comms was at fault

Website order - still waiting

Order new bike through website. Expected delivery was 15-17 days which i took to be fine, now gone past 17+ days and no response to my email.

So no idea where or when i will receive my order and unable to get a response out of them

Not good at all

Guys that are working at my local Cycle Republic shop are absolute legends. Cycle Republic should really appreciate these people, especially now. However, customer service in the head office is shocking – they're not even aware what kind of discounts are on the website and take ages to answer (that was before coronavirus). Also, RPP of selected bikes is different than RPP on Halfords website so the discounts are different. Is this even legal? What a bad practice, in particular now when so much people need a bike to commute and to exercise outside...

Bought an electric bike from them

Bought an electric bike from them, it was the full retail price so could have got it anywhere for the same money, delivered covered in sticky fingerprints and box damaged and ripped open ,the seat was not an original Haibike seat,zip information regarding warranty or anything else, also bought one from local dealer who provided free helmet and 1st service free - complaint raised, ignored so bad feedback it is!!! AVOID!!!!

Avoid Buying

Ordered 2 adult bikes. No contact from the company whatsover when we emailed to change the order on a more expensive bike. Had to contact Halfords but 1 bike couldn't be changed as the email wasn't even read by Cycle Republic. Bikes finally arrived after a 15 day wait & the bikes we ordered where a different size to what we ordered. Didn't bother contacting or exchanging as the company contact is non existent. Please don't buy bikes from Cycle Republic until you read all the reviews as people have bought on finance, had payment taken & received no bikes. Others have waited & either not received bikes, received damaged bikes, had their order cancelled without notification and are finding it difficult to get refunded. Avoid!!

Avoid them like COVID 19

Avoid, avoid, avoid! please read the other reviews before purchasing from Cycle Republic! If i could leave 0 stars i would.
4 weeks ago I ordered my bike, 3 times they have extended the time it will arrive, and when i question it, i get a generic email response back from a different person every time.
If you have this many people responding to complaints, why not train more staff to deliver a good service on time, and then you wouldn't need so many.

Ordered before i read the reviews i ordered my bike nearly a month ago now two days later i recieved a dispatched email with a tracking number to track my parcel, still have not recieved i contacted parcel force who replied that the sender still has my order and has not dispatched i was told 10 working days i have sent various amounts of emails and no response what so ever, no other way to get in contact with them

Order never arrived and no responses to messages. Not to be trusted.

The physical stores were great when they were up and running, knowledgable and helpful staff, and good products on sale. Unfortunately, during the lockdown I tried to order some parts for my bike through the Cycle Republic website.

A few weeks passed and my order didn't arrive, so I sent Cycle Republic a message using the form on their website. I didn't receive a response, so I sent them an email, but again, I didn't receive a response. At this point I became worried, especially as they've stated on their website that they've closed their physical stores. When I read the Trustpilot reviews, I knew something was wrong.

Thankfully, I paid for my order through PayPal, so I opened a dispute through PayPal's Resolution Centre, but Cycle Republic still didn't respond. Today (21st May), PayPal got my money back.

I won't be placing an order with Cycle Republic again.

Awful!!!

Delivery was quick, bike built at no charge but quality of packaging VERY poor! Arrived in large box but absolutely no protective packaging around any parts of the bike. Lights etc damaged & holes in box. If it wasn’t for the fact my husband really needed this bike for work, (along with using the cycle to work certificate), I would have returned this. We ordered three items alongside, the website stated accessories came separately from bike so each one delivered individually but the most expensive item has not been delivered. No emails for despatch, has now been nearly two weeks since we ordered & no contact from emails & phone number goes straight to a voicemail. Still no further forward, I understand things are busier but site says more staff have been employed to deal with increase in enquires but ten days is surely enough time to get to that email, absolutely shocking service. Will never buy from here again!

So heed all these reviews & buy elsewhere!

OK so waited, got 2 Carerra Subway bikes after about 10 days

Boxes were both open at top - My ladies bike is perfect so far BUT

My husbands came with loose front wheel, handlebars, broken bell and on the 3 ride the pedal sheared off - no damage to bike as hubby's elbow and leg took the impact

Cycle Republic do not want to help - after a week now they said get the bike repaired locally and they will reimburse me - as if!

So heed all these reviews & buy elsewhere!

UPDATE 3rd June - despite being promised a replacement and had the broken one collected STILL NO REPLACEMENT - apparently we are in the queue !!!!!

I'm sure selling bikes, components and tools can be lucrative, but would have thought it relies heavily on return custom to be a successful business.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY OR HALFORDS

Order placed for £1000 on 22.4.2020 today is 20.05.2020 I've not had any communication from them. No update. No reply to any of their channels.

Worst customer service I have ever received. I will never ever give Halfords another penny as long as I live.

Utterly illegal.

One of the lucky few!

Ordered before seeing these reviews and then became slightly worried.

However, my low expectations were fairly pleasantly exceeded.

Ordered bike which came with free accessories on Saturday 9th May night and completed Finance application Sunday 10th May morning.

Accessories arrived Tuesday 12th May (within 1 working day) with DPD not the 4-5 quoted.

Easy part done I worried about bike delivery...

Following Monday 18th May, no dispatch email just a text from Parcel Force at 9am with a 1hr delivery slot. Tracking number didn't work initially but became active later in the day including live tracking.

Bike arrived within the slot in a slightly battered box that was open at the top and bottom. Courier apologised and said that's how it had arrived. Fearing the worst I opened the box to find everything inside and the key bits of the bike mostly protected with bubble wrap and foam.

Build sheet and accessories dispatch was from Halfords so I wonder if the parent organisation has now stepped in to sort things out?

Only thing missing is one handlebar end cap which I assume went missing in transit but isn't a big deal - bike was otherwise undamaged and in good condition. Only slight niggle is a the front disc brake is catching slightly but I can adjust that myself.

Overall, a relatively painless experience that exceeded my expectations and meant I got a great offer with the free accessories over any competitors. I do wonder if having the bike on finance influenced the outcome - but that's just speculation.

Feel sorry for all of you with missed orders but it's not all doom and gloom - and I feel sorry for Cycle Republic given the explosion in demand and difficult operating circumstances currently - but their communication could be better.

seen all the reviews on here after id placed the order, received the bike quite quick within 5 days, but its damaged the electric charger wont charge the bike, there 2 big scraches on the big red frame, the box was open the obera box was all ripped, lookes like a return just sent bhack out, 10 emails sent no reoly, halfords not intrested even though the assemblypaperwors says they supplied the bike. so paypal claim in see if they respont then

Ordered a very expensive bike in April…

Ordered a very expensive bike in April and received no communication, then realise they had closed. I have tried tirelesly every day to contact them and Halfords but to no avail. Halfords said they could not help and kept saying they referred it to CR and CR just have not replied. I have e-mailed every day requesting they cancel and provide me with a refund but I have been ignored. Yesterday I received an e-mail saying my bike has been dispatched and on its way. I don't want it and don't need it as I found another retailer who delivered a bike in a few days. CR your customer service is non-exsistent and shocking, there is no excuse for this!!
Update 21/5: eventually managed to get a response through being relentlessly persistent and have now received a refund

No problems, bike delivered within 7 days

I placed an order for a Carrera bike on 6th May, then panicked when I saw all the negative reviews, but was relieved when it was delivered 7 days later with no issues. The build paperwork came from Halfords and the tracking details showed the parcel as coming from Halfords too. Perhaps because it is a Carrera, which is a Halfords brand.

I placed an order for a Pendleton bike…

I placed an order for a Pendleton bike on 01/05/20, then I read the reviews on here and became very worried! I received a confirmation email 08/05/20 saying the bike had been dispatched and will be delivered by parcel force or DPD, but the tracking number they provided was rejected by both websites. I emailed cycle republic and they replied with the correct tracking number for parcel force. It arrived at my local depo on 11/05/20 where it sat for over a week, I managed call my local depo and arrange to collect it, they told me they avoid loading bikes on the vans because there so big (annoying right!) and that’s why it hadn’t been delivered yet. I collected the bike today, came built and was safe to ride, with one small scratch. So if your waiting on your bike might be worth giving the courier call because it could be them slowing down the delivery not cycle republic. Hope this helps!

cycle scheme scam

I ordered under the NHS bike scheme beginning of april and they sold me a bike, watch, helmet and water bottle and only have bottle and helmet and have since closed stores but still selling online! I have phoned them, but now can't and have sent 10 emails and nothing!!!!! Don't buy off of them anymore, they are closing and taking money but not delivering the items and using COVID 19 as an excuse. I can't believe it. I have called cyclescheme and waiting to hear!
