Excellent Service — Above and Beyond

I own several Cycliq devices, and recently one of the tethers snapped. I contacted customer support and was genuinely impressed with how they handled it.
They responded very quickly and sent multiple replacement tethers with expedited shipping —> all completely free of charge. Albeit out of warranty coverage.
In short: Excellent customer service and a great overall experience. Highly recommended!

Fly 12 Sport Battery & Lug Issues

My Fly12 Sport has lasted 3 years of summer use. By then battery life for camara + light on modest settings was down to 90mins. Support were helpful, I ran a bench test plus ensured all updated, on correct memory card plus full reset. Unfortunately out of warranty. I also noticed one of the soft lugs were broken off.
Of interest I also have a Fly12 CE and a Fly 6 CEGEN 3, both older, both continue to give 4hrs plus, on modest camera & light. Why is this?
I would suggest CYCLIQ that an review of battery life is needed on the Fly 12 Sport models. How about a replacement battery option?

Cycliq Fly12 Sport...my honest opinion

I have been using the Cycliq Fly12 Sport for approximately three to four weeks. Overall, my impression of the device is that it performs adequately, though there are some notable limitations.

The primary reason I purchased this camera was to capture incidents while cycling, particularly the ability to clearly record vehicle number plates if required. Due to my work schedule, I typically ride early in the morning and am often on the road from around 4:30 a.m. This means it is usually dark when I leave, and during the winter months it is often dark when I return home as well.

In low-light conditions, I have found that the camera struggles to capture readable number plates. Instead, the footage often shows a strong white glare or reflection from the plates, making them difficult or impossible to identify. It is worth noting that I currently use the Fly12 Sport purely as a camera and do not use its integrated light. Instead, I run a separate, significantly brighter front light. This may be contributing to the glare, although I still need to test the camera using the built-in light to compare the results.

Night riding in wet conditions further reduces the effectiveness of the camera. When vehicles pass in these conditions, it can be difficult to even distinguish the colour of the car, let alone identify the make, model, or number plate. That said, it is possible that even a high-quality action camera might face similar challenges in these conditions.

In terms of video settings, the difference between 4K and the 2K resolution I typically use is relatively minor. The 4K mode records at 24 frames per second, which I find slightly too jerky for practical use while riding. As a result, I generally prefer the smoother performance of the 2K setting.

During daylight hours, the camera performs reasonably well. Even so, to clearly read a vehicle’s number plate, the car generally needs to be quite close—within roughly 15–20 metres. Beyond that distance, the plate becomes difficult to read in the footage.

The stabilisation is acceptable, though it does not match the level of stabilisation typically seen in dedicated action cameras.

I do recognise that the Fly12 Sport is designed primarily as a cycling dashcam rather than a full-featured action camera, and that design intent likely explains some of these limitations. On the positive side, battery life when using the camera alone is very good, which would likely be a trade-off if using a traditional action camera instead.

As for whether it is worth the price, I remain somewhat undecided. While it performs adequately for its intended purpose, improvements to night performance would make a significant difference. Additionally, if the 4K recording mode supported 60 frames per second, it would likely result in a noticeably better overall experience.

Terrible products and support

Terrible products and support. Purchased front and rear cameras and they are far from cheap. Within 12 months the front failed, LCD screen was unreadable, SSD card could not be read. Endless back and forth to get them to replace. Fly 6 gen 3 rear camera started to turn itself off at random times while riding and would only charge to 84% (red light rather than green). Support were slow to respond and just had the usual advise of reset etc. Firmware needs a file to be downloaded from their website, can’t do it from the app. Website area for firmware download constantly said that it could not be contacted and please try again later. Ended up discarding both and buying Garmin.

Royal Mail Delivery Failed

Ordered a front and rear camera before Christmas. Royal Mail tracking showed it had gone awol, eventually being delivered to a place I didn’t recognise. Roger kindly got another parcel sent to me to replace, but again Royal Mail couldn’t manage to deliver it to my address. Didn’t even attempt delivery to my address in London, just redirected to Wolverhampton. Roger then was very helpful and gave me a full refund. However, despite the customer service being amazing, I still don’t have the cameras. Maybe they should think about trying a different delivery service!

Not waterproof and battery life is extremely exaggerated

Like others noted, battery life is terrible - if you use rear taillights figure 2 to 3 hours, without rear lights on, less than 4 hours. Worst deal breaker is the extremely poor waterproofness - unit will die even in a light drizzle scenario. DON'T BUY, including the "improved" model. Ironically, several Chinese companies turn out good rear cameras for under $100 with much better quality (check eBay or various Asian apps).

Very poor cycliq12 battery runtime after 3 years

I bought a cycliq12 about 3 years ago and now have very significant battery runtime issues. The spec says 7 hrs but within 2 years (the warranty period) it was running for c3.5hrs. Its now running at 2hrs 40m on a benchmark test and c2hrs on the road.
Support aren't interested in offering me a meaningful discount on a new one and as its a sealed unit they can't swap out the battery.
I fully accept that batteries degrade over time but not to this extent.
If you buy one go into it with your eyes open and diarise a benchmark test before the warranty runs out.

Great device and customer service

Been using the fly12 for a few years every day. Had been useful in reporting numerous incidents to the police (successfully). The device is good quality and had very clear videos.
After 3yrs the battery life was significantly shorter. While I would like it to last longer I had been using it continuously for that time. I got into contact with them and they offered me a discount on buying a new one (got the fly 6 pro too). Great customer service!

This is a company I really wanted to love

This is a company I really wanted to love, an entrepreneurial outfit based in Perth, Western Australia. I've had numerous products, at least half a dozen, beginning when they shipped their first rear camera, and while the features and functionality are great on the whole, with the exception of a Fly 12 CE which I've had for 18 months and continues to function, in my experience their products have significant reliability issues. Issues have ranged from water ingress (an earlier Fly 6 design problem) to charging connectors that are not durable and fail, to failures with internal electronics. The customer support on the whole isn't great. Within the warranty period acceptable, but out of warranty, when my products have failed as a result of poor product quality they are quite inflexible and unforgiving. Its too bad, a company I really would love to see succeed. And products that are a big deal to have on a bike. But my experience has me now buying Garmin cameras I'm very sorry to say.

Peace of Mind on Every Ride – Cycliq Fly12 & Fly6 Are Must-Haves for Cyclists

I’ve been using Cycliq’s Fly12 and Fly6 cameras for years now, and honestly, I can’t imagine riding without them. As someone who really cares about safety and having a record of what happens on the road, these front and rear-facing bike cameras have become a key part of every ride.

What I appreciate most is the peace of mind they give me. Whether I’m riding solo on quiet roads or dealing with traffic, I know the cameras are capturing everything—front and back—in clear detail. The built-in lights are a great bonus too, helping me stay visible to drivers, especially in low-light conditions.

Cycliq really nailed it with the features: long battery life, loop recording, and automatic incident detection all work smoothly without me having to think about it. The Fly6, in particular, gives me a sense of security from behind—something every cyclist knows is critical.

If you ride for fitness, commuting, or just for fun, I highly recommend the Fly12 and Fly6. They’re more than just cameras—they’re an extra layer of protection that helps keep you safe out there. Thanks, Cycliq, for making products that give cyclists like me confidence on every ride.

Great products

Great products. I have both the front and back cameras, the video quality is excellent and I have reported near misses to the police. As you can see the car reg the police have been able to follow up with the drivers in question too.
Recently had an issue with one camera not recording. Followed the Help pages and logged a support ticket. Had a response v quickly and a free replacement sd card sent same day. Impressed with the products and service.

Amazing bike cameras, fantastic support - I'll always buy Cycliq from now on!

I've been using Cycliq camera for a few years now and think they're great. Lights are great and they provide really good video footage. I'm reporting several bad drivers a week through the nextbase platform. Service from Cycliq is also fantastic. I lost the back light off my bike a couple of years ago (admittedly I'd failed to use the tether so it was basically my fault). I emailed the support team and within a day they'd offered to send me a replacement free of charge. Even more amazingly, a few weeks later I got a knock on the door from a guy who'd found light I'd lost - he realised it was relatively expensive, watched the footage and figured out where I lived! Told Cycliq and they were happy for me to keep the new one which was very generous.

I bought the fly 6 pro and the fly 12…

I bought the fly 6 pro and the fly 12 sport. The F6P works great with the app allowing you to view footage through your phone getting easier access to the files. however the fly 12 sport you need to connect to a desktop via a wire. terrible to have two devices that have to be connected by two different means. I hope they bring a firmware update to this ASAP

Great product and Even Better Support

A great product however after many years of trouble-free performance, I had problems with starting the device with the SD card. Cycliq Support was quick to respond to my request for help. With their guidance, we undertook a specific reset procedure with a clean formatted SD card and the device popped back into action first time. Well done and thanks
