They break the law on refunds. Don’t buy from them.

Ordered a series 8 for my daughter’s birthday on 23rd June. It arrived in time, but found it was not suitable for all cars as they say & couldn’t be used in her car as it doesn’t have a cigarette lighter in the front (like most modern cars). I wrote to them for return instructions (illegal - the return instructions & address should be on their website) & instead of sending them they insist you jump through hoops & fill out forms telling them exactly why you want to return to get their approval of return - even though under distance selling regulations you are entitled to return for refund! This delay meant the parcel was eventually returned at my expense under 48hr tracked on 9/7/24. When no refund had appeared 8 days after it was delivered back to them, I contacted them asking why. I received another email asking me to send proof of posting. I sent screenshots of my receipt from Royal Mail & all the tracking details & even the photo of the parcel delivered to their address. They then said they’d send the proof to their billing department. I’ve this morning just received an email saying they’ve refunded & it could take up to 10 days to reach my account. Hopefully they have, but I’ll keep you posted. Don’t deal with this company, they don’t comply with the law on distance selling & their dashcam does not fit most cars unless you buy another lead to attach it & it doesn’t do some of the things they claim it does so it’s a rubbish dashcam.

No customer service, no contact, no warranty, no use!

Bought this in April 2024 and it arrived without a card so I used one from my old Nextbase. The camera seemed to work OK initially though the mounting to the windscreen seemed a bit flimsy and the camera slides into a plastic piece and is sometimes difficult to slide off. After a month of use the power connector lead that goes into the camera bent at 45 degrees. I tried to contact Dashtrak by e-mail and their on-line chat and sent a photo. I thought it may be replaced under warranty, but if not I wanted to purchase a new power lead. After 3 e-mails and 3 attempts at online chat, I have given up. The website says that they will get in touch within 24 hours of you contacting them but this is obviously incorrect.
I have bodged the power lead for the time being but the power cuts off at unexpected times. I have given up now and will order from a reputable company. I did read reviews on a site about Dashtrak being good, but should have done due diligence and done some more research as I would have discovered that others cannot get in contact with them.
Pretty useless really and a waste of nearly £80.

Everything about the product and company stinks

I bought a Dashtrack 8 dashcam as a result of reading an online comparison test, where it came out top (inexplicably this test has disappeared). The price of circa £79 seemed very good for a supposedly high spec camera with rear camera thrown in.
When it arrived, it was obviously very cheaply made and a bit of a disappointment, but I tried set it up anyway, which was made difficult because no instructions were supplied, and what is available online is ludicrously lacking in any real information.
Mysteriously, the higher 1080p resolution did not appear in the set-up menu which suggests the advertised specification is a lie, also the micro SD card supplied, wouldn't format.
I requested help from Dashtrack but received no reply and the company has also not responded after a second request for help.
I have since seen identical items for sale at less than £30.
I eventually requested Paypal to get involved and shortly after received a mealy-mouthed response from Dashtrack, advising how to send the camera back.
I sent it signed-for post at my expense but after more than a week there was no response, so I contacted them again and they then requested I send a copy of the PO invoice, despite the PO actually showing a photo of the package delivered to them.
I did eventually get my money back after a further request to Paypal (well done them).
In my opinion Dashtrack is a charlatan company charging 2-3 times as much as other sellers for a truly crappy product, and they then don't want to know.
Do yourselves a favour and avoid them.

Dashtrack Series 8 device is very poor spec for the price, rebranded cheap generic dashcam with no wi-fi facility. See other reviews for confirmation of this.
The customer service is utterly shocking - taking 72 hours to respond to email, *never* answering phone or responding to webchat.
Finally arranged for a return and refund almost a week after ordering and three days after the device arrived. A truly awful company to deal with.

Do Dashtrack exist in the UK?

Having recently purchased dashtrack 8...required some info about set up and playback etc.Have e mailed customer services x 2 over last 3 weeks...no response , tried phoning 0330 number which was not anwsered after 11 mins!
I have a concern that the e mail we write to and the customer service phone number are made up...be wary of this company. Again , feedback is based on company support...not actual product.

scam website

scam website, none of their claims of reporting by various companies stands up to any google searches and their reviews don't link to any review site.
if you purchased from this company I urge you to contact your bank and ask them for a refund as you've been sold lies!

SCAM - DO NOT BUY!

A very well made site, normally I don't fall for fake setups, but for some reason I was looking around for a dual dash cam for my job as a taxi driver. I came across the site and saw the reviews and logo imprinted on their dash cam model.

Turns out it's a knock-off brand from China. The same dash cam you can purchase on Amazon for less than £40, whereas Dashtrack's is over £80.

No customer service line to reach. Their refund policy states that you must return still in it's boxed untouched. It's an absolute sham and unfortunately I'm not sure there's even a way to get your money back.

If you have purchased one, please report it to your country's trade ombudsman.

Complete lack of after sales support

Complete lack of after sales support. Online chat ignored. Phone not answered. E-mails not replied to.
This Series 8 dashcam will not work through a USB-C output and I have asked a simple question regarding the true output of the device (as the data on the website differs from the manual supplied, which also raises concern). Have tried 4 different converters and none will work. This is not mentioned anywhere on the website. If you don't have a 12V socket in your car, be wary of purchasing the Series 8 dashcam. I attempted to contact Dashtrack, but as above, this is not possible. I cannot comment on the dashcam performance itself, for the previously mentioned reason, but I can point out that the rear camera is identical to any generic OEM rear camera that you get on any other low cost dashcam.
My low review isn't for the item purchased itself (these things happen and there's likely a resolve) but for the absolute non-existent customer support.
There is a 30-day returns policy if you're not happy after purchasing, but unfortunately this involves making contact with Dashtrack, through the e-mail address that they don't respond to.
