I was a bit dubious about going with a debt company at first. However the staff were helpful and informative at every stage. I always knew where I was up to and felt at ease explaining my situation. Really professional and provided excellent service

This process was simpler than expected, the most complex part was reading through the whole IVA before signing, but you can call the advisor you're working with if you have questions. Overall it feels like the process has been designed to be as straightforward as possible, with the team being friendly and knowledgable, ensuring you know the fundamentals of what you have to do. I have only just been accepted but the process up until now has been very well done.

I took out an IVA in May 2012 and paid it off in full in September 2013. However, it took these people until August 2014 to close my file as they could not sort out the PPI as clearly their departments do not talk to each other. I contacted them on several occasions only to be told various forms were being sent out in the post but they never arrived. I lost count of how many staff/departments I was transferred too but it was a complete mess. After contacting their Customer Support to make a complaint they had supposedly carried out an investigation and found the hold up was me not returning the PPI forms, I never had them!! They do not listen once they have you on Baord. I now have the IVA on my file for a further year due to their incompetencies. They are quick enough setting up the IVA but to close them they are pathetic!

Debt Free Direct are a dishonest company. They keep lying to me and being completely dishonest. Complaining to them on the phone gets you nowhere as they will refuse to answer any questions.

NEVER TRUST DEBT FREE DIRECT!!!! Unless you want to be lied to and have your IVA carry on much longer than it should

Examples:

I asked to increase my payments to have a 100% repayment on my debts. I was given a figure, and never missed a payment. At the end of the IVA I was told that I needed to pay more.

When I made the offer to pay the amount they have told me that I had to pay, I was told that this was not enough to pay the IVA in full. When I asked how much I should pay to pay it off in full, I was told that they don't know how much it is. IF THE STAFF DOESN'T KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE TO PAY TO PAY IN FULL, HOW CAN THEY SAY MY OFFER ISN'T ENOUGH?

DFD told me that they have to discuss my offer with the creditors. I called DFD up before the scheduled meeting to make sure it was still going ahead, and I was told that the offer was accepted. HOW CAN THE CREDITORS ACCEPT IT WITHOUT THE MEETING TAKING PLACE?

I made my full and final payment end of August and I was told it would take 6 weeks to close off the IVA. Now mid November, about 11 weeks later, I called them up again to see why it takes so long to close off my IVA. I am now being told it takes 6 months to close it off. WHY WAS I TOLD 6 WEEKS WHEN I MADE MY FULL AND FINAL PAYMENT AND NOW DFD IS INCREASING THAT TO 6 MONTHS AND TRYING TO TELL ME THAT IT'S NOT MUCH LONGER? GOING UP FROM 6 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS IS A VERY LARGE INCREASE!

DFD are a horrible company that can't be trusted. I was told that after the court hearing they were told to reduce their fixed fees for the IVA, but I was never told what the new fees are. When I ask about them, all I am being told is that they will be in the final report. IF THESE FEES ARE FIXED, THEY SHOULD BE ON MY FILE AND DFD SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHARE THAT INFORMATION WITH ME STRAIGHT AWAY.

I did my own calculations on this. I added the proposed fees to the unsecured loans. I checked how much PPI was recovered and this was used to offset my debts, so my IVA has to pay less debts to the creditors. I take away all my contributions and the figure left is substantially less than the full and final payment I was forced to pay. I was told that when the IVA is closed off I will get that money back if I have paid too much. When I asked the staff about the amounts on the annual report, they told me they don't know that report and don't know where the numbers came from. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told I can't.

I FEEL THAT DFD IS HOLDING OFF ON CLOSING MY IVA BECAUSE THEY KNOW I HAVE PAID TOO MUCH AND WANT TO INCREASE THEIR FEES SO THEY CAN GET A SHARE OF THAT MONEY AND STEAL FROM ME.

i think dfd is a scam it took 21000 of us and kept 11000 in costs

Have used this service before and they were great. Have had to use them again. I would highly recommend them. All staff have had help me through a difficult situation.

I sent an email requesting information on 22nd July. The reply was a standard we take 5 days to respond email. On the 3rd August I received the reply...a very long 5 days.
The email said they wanted to talk directly to me rather than do it in writing. The numbers I've been given I have tried and as yet never actually spoken to anyone. I've now been on hold a total of 1 hour 40 minutes and still counting. This is after 6 calls.on two different numbers.
Apparently my call is important to them ?!?!? And the staff will be with me as soon as possible .
I sent another email and recieved the response that they will respond in five days.....ha!?!?

I found the team to be highly professional, especially when discussing sensitive personal matters. From start to finish the whole process has run smoothly and would highly recommend.

Going through an IVA is all very daunting but with the friendly staff who are very professional, at my side through every step to guide and help me with all my questions made it all a lot less stressful, they are very supportive and easy to contact when I needed my questions answering.
