Customer Service
I want to say when this unit is working it works great! Well I was having problems with it and contacted Della's customer service and they were very kind and supportive and ended up shipping me out a new unit. Definitely recommend this company.
Great communication on delivery status
Great communication on delivery status. Just installed my 36K mini split at my 1200 sq. ft. shop in east TX. Did the entire install with electric myself. Used the Della install kit along with my own nitrogen tank for leak and vacuum testing. Cut and flared the lines to length. After all said and done, it was time to start it up for the first time. All went well and immediately started cooling my shop down. So far, so good.

I purchased A Della Mini Split through Della's website because I wanted to make sure if I needed customer service Della would know I purchased through them. I have to say I needed some further guidance for my unit that I just received and all my questions were answered professionally and politely by one of their reps named Hector. What a super nice guy working for a great company Della. Will always feel comfortable choosing Della.

Great customer service
My unit broke after about a year of being installed. I called customer service and spoke with Lizzie, who was quick to respond and get the answers I needed for my warranty. Within 24 hours, a new unit was shipped out to me. A pleasant experience
Della Motto 12K unit (on sale): Newbies READ this prior to purchase/install…
Part of my experience is the model I purchased….part is the manual/customer service. The unit Is installed, and working, and putting out VERY cold air, and with a 25ft line-set. The oscillation is a little noisier than I anticipated, but can always be shut off. We’ll see how long it lasts.
The bad:
Non-existent customer service, installation kit arrived late, and with an inadequate amount of oil (costing me an entire day to find, and $10). The manual was so inconsistence, incomplete, and/or conflicting (regardless of Della product used, and in my case that was 3 of them) that, that issue alone almost derailed this entire install. And, Della’s ACTUAL customer service is only available Mon-Fri, and even, then, unreachable (and I never got a call back from the one message I did leave). The weekend “chat” support is Chinese (or may as well be). It took close to a hour to get 3 questions answered via the chat, two of which weren’t really “answered”, but very nice people, who credited me $30 for my “troubles”.
Installing the inside unit is never the hard part with these. However, the template (at least with the Motto unit) is either incorrect, or the design of the Motto is poor, because where the pass-through is drilled on the cardboard template, it will stick out of the bottom of the unit by roughly 3/4”, and doesn’t look “clean”. And, with the Motto, you’ll want to cut the hole on the left, and connect the line set INSIDE the room, with the unit on the wall (The DIY HVAC GUY does a GREAT video on this). There’s just not enough length on line set (12” on the Motto) coming off the unit to bend the pipe out, then fed through to the wall, like 99% of the videos online (hopefully that makes sense):
***This caused a HUGE problem with our install, and, significantly-changes how this model is installed (virtually NO info is available on). It’s also the first time I’ve seen this kind of line set, layout for a mini-split. It’s not harder, it’s just different.***
Customizing the line-set/re-flaring:
This is my first Della mini-split install, but my 3rd mini-split install over-all, and while ALL line-sets are “sensitive”, I’ve NEVER seen/used copper SO incredibly-brittle, and fragile. If you’ve got to cut/flare your fittings, you’d better make sure you’ve got pro tools to do that job, or you’re VERY skilled with the tools you DO have. It could either be bad luck, with crap Amazon kits (which were recommended), or the HVAC Pro’s make this look VERY easy…but the Amazon flaring kit I got BARELY worked for this install. That could’ve been the horrible-quality, copper, or a bad kit. A newbie will screw it up 4-5x’s….not 10. Same with the demurring tool. Go the extra mile and rent, or purchase/renturn pro tools for that purpose. And, for the newbies at that type of thing, like me, purchase a 3-5ft piece of copper to practice cutting & flaring on, prior to working on the line sets, to familiarize yourself with the tools you ARE using. Just my two cents. That said, of all the issues I had, the cutting/flaring wasted least amount of time.
Torque wrench:
If you don’t know what you’re doing this (in a HVAC setting) it may as well be French. Again, the manual is horrible. And, weekend chat is worse. But, (at least in my case) the amount of pressure needed to tighten these connectors is FREAKISH (others have commented on this, as well).
***Attn: Della: This is a DIY kit, which means the majority of people installing these units are NOT HVAC Pro’s…..hence the term “DIY Installation kit”. You need to have tech’s available to answer questions (most of which will be VERY simple, and prevent a LOT of unnecessary grief 90% of which is caused by incomplete/conflicting info in Della’s own manuals).***
With ALL that said…. 3-stars because the unit (as stated) IS installed, and working very well….which was the goal. Now, that I’ve installed one, another unit would go much….MUCH smoother, and I’d probably go with a more powerful/efficient unit. This was 12K, unit, that was on sale. I don’t need more power, but the more powerful units seem to be more efficient, and quieter, on their lower settings.
My suggestion is stay away from the manual, or use it as a VERY general “check-list”, and watch the “The Kelley’s Country Life” video for the installation kit “How To’s”…and DIY HVAC Guy for how to hang & connect a unit like the Motto where the line set has to be connected in the room, under/behind the unit. And, the wire less app is very practical, and for reasons I’m still learning has a different functionality. I prefer it, so far.
Hopefully, this will last at least 7-8yrs. Would be at least 4-stars had it not been for the customer service/manual issues.

Outstanding Customer Service!
I purchased a complete mini split unit from Amazon. Installed and the unit worked for a few weeks and then stopped. Hired a tech who said a service port leaked and let the refrigerant out. Della honored warranty and sent me another unit. Installed and this one worked, but iced up in 15 minutes. AC tech comes and says its a valve in the unit, he said he couldnt find any kinked lines. Della again sent me another unit. Installed and this time checked all lines myself (electrician and plumbers had worked in the attic) and I found a kinked line. Replaced and the new unit works as it should. I received outstanding support from Della, above and beyond what I would have expected. I actually sent them a note thanking and apologizing.
Good quality better customer service
Looks like a good quality product that integrates with my internal home network. I however ordered the wrong hoses but was able to contact customer service for an easy exchange. Very easy installation and keeps my house cool starting with my sunroom.
Great support
I had some issues with my unit, and was worried that the warranty would give me the run around. I spoke with someone named Lizzie and she was super nice and very helpful at correcting the issue. It's a huge benefit to know you can get ahold of someone who will actually make things right in the event of a problem.
