Unreliable...avoid

If their performance and competence during my attempt to buy a used bike from them is any reflection on how they deal with customers after a purchase, I would strongly advise against handing over your money.

My initial enquiry regarding a used bike received a response, not a particularly engaging or helpful one, but at least they replied. From then on, while clarifying the state of their bike and the part-ex state of mine, the responses were generally either non-existent, or vague and lacking information that I'd requested.
Brendan excused his poor responses with "i thought my colleagues had told you.." which left colleague Ryan to diplomatically cover for Brendan's poor admin. Brendan also acknowledged that he was from a car background not motorcycles (i hope he performed better in his previous employment)

Having placed a deposit on the bike, I asked whether the Saturday would be good to come and see the bike and complete the deal (test ride, hand over my part-ex, and ride away). "See you Saturday..." was the eventual reply. I travelled 90 minutes to their Dorset store only to find that the bike had not been through their workshop and therefore I could not test ride (never mind ride it away).
I noticed a couple of issues with the bike however which I asked to be dealt with (a worn front tyre and dripping oil).

Brendan wanted me to agree a price but wouldn't commit to addressing either
and simply dismissed my concerns with a politicians answer ("they will be dealt with if our workshop thinks they're a problem..")
I had to again contact them to establish whether the workshop agreed with my concerns (they did) only to be told that the tyre would have to be ordered which would jeopardise me collecting that weekend. I agreed with Ryan that I would collect the bike in 25 April, to give them sufficient time to order and fit the tyre.

On 17th April, Brendan called to see if we were still on for me to collect on 18th !!!. I reminded him of my previous conversation. He was very put-out and said that if I couldn't collect the following day, he would have no option but to resell the bike.

I realised then that the administrative competence of Brendan (and by association, of Destination Triumph Dorset) was not a business that I could trust. Their admin, record keeping and communications were inept.

I asked for my deposit back which I received 10 days later.

Avoid....

All the staff at Destination Triumph…

All the staff at Destination Triumph Dorset were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall my experience was very good. However, I cannot give 5 stars because of Triumphs lack of ability to get hold of a spare I needed to repair a component that I accidentally bent. I had the bike booked in for the repair having been told the part was on back order and would be available by the date of the repair which was to be in several weeks time. But it was not available and I was then told I would have to wait another 6 weeks or so. However, I managed to get the part myself from France and had it delivered (at great expense). Not great that Triumph do not have a ready supply of spare parts for my bike. If I had not sourced the part myself I would have been waiting for over 2 months for the repair or possibly even longer. So - come on Triumph - great bikes and staff but rubbish parts supply chain!!

I bought a second-hand motorcycle from…

I bought a second-hand motorcycle from this company and could not have been more pleased with the vehicle itself and the sales team - in particular Salesman Ryan - at the Christchurch branch. The process was simple, quick and thorough and the staff extremely helpful. On possession of the bike I had to ride home to Norwich, Norfolk some 230-miles which was a breeze. I would recommend this branch and compliment them on their helpfulness and pleasant manner.
