Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 89 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers report significant delays in receiving their product results, with some waiting months or even years without any progress or communication. People frequently mention that customer service is unresponsive, unhelpful, and provides only vague or canned answers, making it difficult to get clear information or a timeline. Reviewers also express frustration with the refund process, stating that the company often refuses refunds despite the lack of service delivery. Though some customers also noted issues with mislabeled samples and the company's inability to provide the services they sell, a few other people also felt that they eventually received a full refund after persistent contact with support.

I’ve been waiting 1 year for my DNA test results from this company—nothing delivered, only excuses. Now they’re trying to charge me again for a service they never provided.
Stay away from this company. They take your money and give you nothing in return.

Paid $1200 for Nebula Genomics service in August of 2024. Was told first sample failed, then resubmitted another sample. Now, 8 months later they refuse to refund me by claiming it is being "processed" even though sample is just listed as received and has not even progressed into DNA extraction. Meaning it is frozen away at best.

Refused to Destroy DNA Sample

After 7 months with no progress, no updates, and the company refusing to provide any evidence that they had even started, I won a chargeback case with my credit card company. Now, 10 month after purchase (and the company still reporting that the sample is "in processing") I submitted a written directive that they destroy my DNA sample. They flatly refused and claimed they would "continue processing." I'm fairly certain this is illegal and a tort. If any lawyers out there are looking to get a class action going against this company, please do! There are many of us who would join. I greatly worry ProphaseLabs (the owner) is looking to sell people's genetic data/samples along with the DNA Complete company/scam itself.

Contact the FTC, folks, and your state attorney general's office!

UPDATE: my analysis came back

UPDATE: a few weeks after posting this, my DNA analysis arrived as expected, although significantly later than the 10 weeks listed on their website. The analysis tool wasn't as useful as I'd hoped, but the data has helped me find an answer to some health issues I've been having. I strongly believe I would have never received my results had I not harassed them by email and asked for my money back.

My sample has apparently been at their lab for over ten weeks now without any sign of progress. I have been told it is still going through quality control. I have a complex medical history and was utterly desperate for answers - I spent a fair amount of my savings on this and am kind of destroyed by being scammed. Do not use this company.

Been waiting 4 months + for results and the company can't give me any updates on estimated completion non the 100x sequencing I ordered. This was wasted money and if you're reading this, use another service because this company is a either a complete scam or incredibly incompetent.

Scam

Ordered 3/26/25. On 10/20/25 after many emails, company rep said that they still can't tell me when I'll get my results. I think "never" is probably the date at this point.

Seems like a scam

I have been waiting for results for many weeks over original 12 week period it stated on website (now removed) and when chasing for an updated revieve the same generic email reply. Latest email recieved from them in response when questioning for a phone number states they don't offer phone support.
Definitely seems a scam.

I have been waiting for results of a…

I have been waiting for results of a DNA test for 20 weeks now and the only response I receive after numerous emails is "At DNA Complete, we are committed to delivering high-quality data. Because of the many factors that influence processing, we are unable to provide estimated wait times". This is a blanket statement that is returned at every attempt to inquire where my test is in the work flow. I am now filing a complaint with the Arizona State Attorney General for Medical Fraud and seeking other clients to file a class action suit against DNA Complete. If they were at least open about the challenges they face, or if my sample is lost or even if I have to do it over, there would be no problem. The issues is DNA complete does not consider themselves to be a medical provider so DNA complete feels they do not need to comply with HIPA practices (as per their own response in an email to me).

Run Away!! Do not use Nebula/DNA Complete!!

I can’t begin to express my disappointment with this company, especially after my research led me to them as a trusted provider. That can no longer be said. Lead time expectations (12 weeks at the time) came and went. Required many follow up emails to get status (which was never specific). Company has been gutted, including closure of their internal lab and big staffing cuts. Many online forum entries highlighted that the parent company ProPhase promoted nepotism within the leadership structure that brought inexperienced, unqualified and highly compensated oversight to the Nebula genomics division, despite 80% loss in revenue prior year. This company seems to be in financial trouble. Check 3/31/25, 5/31 reports at the Investor Relations>Press Releases page of the prophaselabs site.
Eventually, with the help of a kind customer service rep, I received my refund after about 6 months. I demanded verified destruction of my sample, which they did not provide. Run away!

No results after 6+ months - Unacceptable Delay and No Transparency

I ordered a full DNA test from DNA Complete / Nebula Genomics over six months ago, and I still haven’t received my results.

The company confirmed that they received my sample and that it has entered processing, but since then, there has been no update, no timeline, and no explanation. Every time I ask, I receive vague, copy-pasted replies citing “privacy policies” and refusing to provide any estimated completion time.

For a service that claims to offer full genome sequencing, this level of communication and delay is unacceptable. According to EU consumer law, services must be delivered within a reasonable time – and six months (and counting) is not reasonable by any standard.

I have now given the company 14 days to deliver my results. If they fail to do so, I will escalate the case to EU consumer protection (ECC) and initiate a chargeback for undelivered services.

I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before purchasing from this company unless they are prepared to wait indefinitely without clear communication or accountability.

Was gifted a kit as a birthday present…

Was gifted a kit as a birthday present in Feb'25, the sample was mislabeled upon arrival. They sent me another kit, it was received in the end of Apr'25, till this day I am in the same limbo with 'reprocessing'
Even contacted the CEO, who promised me the results withing a month, it was a month and a half ago. Still nothing. Such a shame to use the name of prof. Church

Edit:
Finally results came back, was a long road. I hope the company will recover soon and reviews will be positive

5 Months no results

Ordered back in April, and now it's September. Still haven't gotten my results and I spent the most money to get the best package... It looks like my sample has arrived at lab but nothing has happened since then! I'm starting to think this is a scam. May look into a class action here. Reach out if you've had a similar experience.

DNA Complete - Nebula Genomics is a SCAM

The company is owned by ProPhase Labs. If you look at the Q2 2025 financial results, you can see that Nebula/DNA Complete have had their equipment sold and leases terminated. They no longer can operate. This company is selling services they cannot provide. Scammers: Ted Karkus and Jason Karkus.

This company is a complete scam

This company is a complete scam, they have had my sample at their lab for four months and have done nothing with it. I realise that my money is toast so I have told them to cancel out my subscription as they will never be getting anymore of my business. Regrettably, I did not do due diligence and did not know their shockingly bad reputation before ordering the full kit, "Caveat emptor!".
