Feedback Regarding Unjustified Rescheduling Charges Despite Free Date Change Add-on

Booked a Kolkata to Pune flight through EaseMyTrip and even paid extra for the “Free Date Change” option specifically to avoid heavy rescheduling charges in case plans changed.

Later, when I requested to reschedule my journey from 21 May 2026 to 19 May 2026, customer care informed me that I would need to pay around ₹10,000 per passenger for the change — an amount even higher than the normal ticket fare itself.

This is extremely disappointing and misleading. If customers are still forced to pay such excessive charges despite purchasing a “Free Date Change” add-on, then what is the actual benefit of this service?

There was no clear communication during booking that such huge charges could still apply. As a customer, this feels unfair and deceptive.

I request EaseMyTrip to:
• Clearly explain the purpose and coverage of the “Free Date Change” feature
• Provide transparent fare difference details instead of vague charges
• Stop misleading customers with add-ons that do not genuinely help during rescheduling
Before my review to trust pilot this is the charges mentioned by customer care executive -Charges : 10360 per pax as of now.

What nonsense is this..same day in and hour time the changes the charges from 10k to 12k per person ,which is more than ticket price ..with no explanation to the question I have raised in my mail neither in my review and now forced to fly on 21st

Very disappointed with the experience and customer support handling.
My complain is still not resolved as there is no transparency given by you at the time of booking the ticket and as mentioned earlier also and now also m mentioning no ware in ticket the limitation of add -on features are mentioned,at least not in my ticket.and m not convenieced by your response mentioned below.
There is no point of taking add on offered by you,as it doesn't give any benefit to the customer,moreover the clarity is also not given on add on feature on the terms and conditions mentioned in the ticket...

This system enables us to efficiently manage and process a high volume of reservations.

Please note that any modification, rescheduling, or date change request is subject to the respective airline’s fare rules, policies, seat availability, and applicable fare difference at the time the request is made. In certain cases, particularly when the requested travel date falls under a higher fare category or limited seat availability, the applicable fare difference may be significantly higher as determined directly by the airline.

Upon reviewing your case, we found that the Free Date Change Insurance (EMTR) add-on was successfully selected at the time of booking. We would like to clarify that the EMTR benefit covers the airline date change penalty charges as per the applicable terms and conditions; however, any fare difference arising due to changes in airline pricing, seat availability, or travel dates remains payable by the customer.

Accordingly, the applicable fare difference and modification details were shared with you as per the airline’s live fare conditions and policies.

Showing discount fares and charging more than airline fares

They add discount in the starting but when you are completing the booking it was charged more and this is not the first time it happened with me. If you give offers on credit please don't fake because customer would be in a thinking offer will be there and that's the only reason people are booking wit you guys. And everyone knows the prices are dynamic but prices would be same on airline website and easemytrip. It won't show you guys charges and different and airline charges different.
