An all round good experience. Very clear instructions on how to undertake the swabs, store and return them. Suggested wait time for results seemed reasonable but we got them early which was good. Great Service
I found EasyDNA by doing an Internet search and since the price was acceptable and the reviews were good, I decided to buy the allergy test. My nine year old mixed breed was increasingly scratching and licking her paws, which the vet had told me was often a sign of a protein allergy. The kit arrived quickly, the directions were easy, and I had my results quickly. Sure enough, while there were no known allergies, it turned out that she had a "mild intolerance" to most proteins, including chicken which had been a main ingredient in her diet. We immediately changed to beef (just about the only protein NOT on the list) and there's been some improvement. Recently she got anemia, and she stopped eating. While trying to find something that appealed to her, I tried to consult my list of "mild intolerances" but I couldn't find it. When I clicked on the original link in the email containing the results, the link no longer worked. I sent an email to the help desk and got a response and a new link within a day!

EasyDNA was a great decision. Obtaining the sample was super simple and harmless to our pup. We were provided an in-depth review of her allergies and intolerances. Almost a year later, I lost our report and reached out to customer service who re-sent the full report to me in just a few days. I can’t say enough about the process and the customer service.

Extremely pleased! Excellent communication from start to providing test results. I was sure my dog was allergic to chicken, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find out she is not. I wanted to determine which specific allergies she has, in particular food allergies, so I can eliminate those from her diet and adjust what she is currently being fed rather than a trial and error diet. I highly recommend EasyDNA, you will not be disappointed!

I have a mixed Bulldog breed and did a breed DNA test hoping to find out what Bulldog and other breeds are in my dogs family tree. I know there is English and Olde English bulldog and an Olde English in him but my dog turned out to be 100% Bulldog....

An Olde English bulldog has the following breeds, American Bulldog, English BullMastiff, American Pitbull and English Bulldog. Bullmastiff and Staffordshire terriër is on your list, both should be found in the DNA. There is also French Bulldog and Bulldog, how do you differentiate between the two? I had totally different expectations of a DNA test, you should update your Bulldog as there are many types, an American Bulldog is nothing like an English Bulldog for instance.

We are sorry to hear that you have issues with the result. Our database of validated breeds covers the most common breeds you will find in the mixed breed dog population. However we would like to point out that Olde English Bulldog is not present in the laboratory database being used for the breed identification. Therefore if your dog contains DNA from a breed that is not in our database the DNA represented in that part of your dog’s genetics will be assigned to the foundation breed or breeds of your dog or the most closely related breed or breeds. Therefore in your case the result would have gone to the closest breed which according to the very strong result is Bulldog. A list of breeds we test for is provided on the website.
With regards to any other possible breeds, we can deduce that the Bulldog pedigree is very strong in your dog whilst other breeds are not and therefore the result has veered towards a very strong percentage of Bulldog.
We hope that our response has at least in part provided you with further information about how to interpret the results of the test.

With many similar companies out there, I would not recommend EasyDNA UK
I purchased an allergy test for my dog, and when I was trying to get a sample of his saliva using the provided swab unfortunately he bit down and swallowed it. I had to pay £20 for an replacement kit as they were unable to send just a replacement swab. Because many are dealing with animals and needing to swab for 90 seconds inside their mouth that this must happen a lot. I believe it is disingenuous to charge £20 for a replacement kit, at the very least they should have the capability to send out a second swab or provide two in the kit as they stress the importance of getting a good sample of the saliva. With many similar companies out there, I would not recommend EasyDNA UK.

With regards to the kit for the dog allergy test this is a customised kit that requires a specific preservative to be added to the swab to prepare the sample for processing during transit. The cost of the actual kit including postage and handling is quite hefty and the replacement kit cost is a reflection of the costs involved. We have not had any material complaints about the kit to date considering the amount of tests that are sold each month worldwide.
Having said that, we have taken your comments into consideration and we are reviewing our current procedures to see where we can improve, as customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to our company.

EasyDNA really helped us
We used EasyDNA for an allergy test for our pup who has chronic allergies. Not knowing what was making her uncomfortable and itchy, we would speculate and just try different foods. A colleague suggested using an allergy kit and after searching the net, I came across EasyDNA.
We liked that the process was efficient and easy, and within a few weeks, we received the results in a simplified manner which we are now using as a guide for our pup's meals; it was great having concrete answers vs just guessing all the time. We also received regular updates about the status of the test, so we weren't in the dark about what was going on during the process. Would highly recommend.

Dear Sir
You informed us that paternity test was purchased by mistake and asked for a refund. The refund was actioned within an hour of making the request. Our cancellation policy is clear that we provide a full refund as long as the kit is not issued, which it was not. We normally require this request to be made in writing via the same email that made the actual purchase - we do this for verification purposes to confirm that the request is legitimate.
However, when we informed you of this you called the office and proceeded to be very rude with our staff so much so that they had to hang up. Our staff are clearly instructed not to deal with clients who are verbally abusive. Despite this we did however still proceed with the refund.
We therefore cannot understand how you can label our company as having 'bad customer service' when your request for refund was actioned and you did not actually experience our service. Your review is clearly vexatious and without any merit.

We are sorry to hear that your experience with our service has not been to your expectations. You sent us your email questioning the result on the 26/11/21 in the evening and then posted your review an hour or two later before we even had the chance to look at your case and respond.
We did in fact respond the following day and provided you with an explanation of the results. We also offered to re-review the case and re-test if necessary but you did not respond to our email at all. This is our normal procedure as sometimes clients fail to understand how the genetic makeup of mixed breeds work in the final appearance of their dog and once we explain this they are fine with the result.
In fact upon checking your dog's breed test results, it is evident that quite a few low level breeds were detected and this is a clear indication that your dog is a highly mixed breed. These breeds would not necessarily contribute to the appearance of the dog. Guessing a mixed breed's ancestry can be difficult even for knowledgeable dog observers because mixed breeds have much more genetic variation than pure-breds. The presence of certain dog breeds in your results does not guarantee that the dog will look like the specific detected breeds because the genetic contribution from the other breeds present may be more visible.
Furthermore, there may have been breed(s) present in one or both parents that were not passed down to one or all of their puppies, which can sometimes explain the exclusion of certain breeds in a dog, and how litter mates can have different (or similar but not identical) breed compositions.
Finally, we cannot exclude the fact that that there might be other more dominant breeds in your dog that are not being detected due to them not being on the list of dogs that we test for. As you said the dog is a Romanian rescue and our database may not cater for some of the local breeds there.
We hope that our response has at least in part provided you with further information about how to interpret the results of the test.
