7 months and counting to exchange on a house - no chain, just a first time buyer and a seller of an empty house

My daughter has been trying to buy her first home for 7 months. The vendor has used Fidler and Pepper. Still no sign of exchange, clearly not our solicitor's fault. Other solicitors and agents not having problems selling on this estate. No useful feedback to the vendor and our solicitor. We just tried to make a complaint, but they refuse to accept it because we are not their clients. No promise to work with their client to resolve it. Complaint addressed to the Chief Exec, but no sign he even read it, just an unhelpful reply from a full-time complaints co-ordinator - why do you need people employed to handle complaints? Her out of office reads - "Thank you for your continued patience. Currently, we are aiming to respond as soon as possible and we will continue to do everything we can to progress your case. Please refrain from duplicating emails as this will increase my response time. We would appreciate if you could show understanding and be respectful to our teams, and front line staff." This rather suggests a lot of people are complaining and many are getting very angry. Do not be hoodwinked by the many 5* reviews, look at the number of 1* reviews, and read them. We recognise many of their complaints applying to our case too. This business has a problem with its culture and operations. Can anybody offer advice how to get them to finish the job?
Edit - some good news, the Chief Exec did respond to a follow up e mail, and although that felt negative at the time, it appears he did do something, as all but one of the remaining enquiries were answered on Friday. Fingers crossed for the last one.

Poor service

We were recommended Fidler and Pepper by our mortgage advisor but unfortunately had a number of issues. Firstly they do everything through an app - you have to pay extra to use human beings - and the app was not simple or easy to navigate. Correspondence was extremely slow with Lyndsey - at one point we waited almost a month for response to an email including multiple follow up emails chasing. We were never able to get through on the phone to speak to anyone. Emails between our solicitor and estate agent which we were copied into were highly unprofessional and looked like bickering. When we eventually received our contract it contained multiple typos including the postcode of our new house. When we transferred our deposit we were told we were 25k(!!) short which sent us into mass panic (and then no response all evening) and it was only the following morning - the day of completion - that the error was admitted by them. All in all I would not recommend this company, they added significant stress and delay to our first house purchase.
