We had some garage roof work done in September. After the work was completed, we were told that collection of the rubbish would be part of the service. We had to phone multiple times to get someone from the company to collect the rubbish as multiple people I spoke to would not take responsibility for the collection. It wasn't until I mentioned raising this issue to the ombudsman that they came and collected the rubbish, this took over a month of chasing the company just for collecting rubbish.

We were also promised warranty/guarantee documentation on the work that was completed on the roof. However, after chasing them multiple times and calling in to their office, they have kept reassuring me that they will get the documentation sent out. I have been chasing since October 2024 and it is now January 2025 and I have not still not received the documentation. It should not take multiple months to send over documentation for the work that was done and I have given up chasing them as they are completely useless!

Despite them being cheaper than other options on the market I highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. Totally unreliable and will never go back to them for any work in the future.

I’ve had multiple work done through this firm over a number of years, and so have other family members too…from start to finish with all work and sales reps have been first class, we’ve always been kept in formed of everything from start to finish and never had an issues, they’re built me a new orangery just before Xmas with a wonderful sky lantern and it’s left more room for the family to have more space and 12 months before all the windows were fitted to a high quality leaving out energy bills far less

First Choice Doors & Windows have just completed a new build conservatory and a EDPM firestone rubber cover flat roof above my existing garage. From initial point of contact to installation completion I cannot fault this company. 5***** from the Moxon household

Fitters and communication was great. Minimal fuss, no mess and everything happened in the back ground after a fitting date was given in advance.

I had a gye knock my door lovely gye he sorted it her me for someone to give me a quote on my whole house its fitted now window fitters where really nice house looks great now

Once they have your money they don't want to know. Made loads of phone calls. Not getting anywhere. Avoid.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
We agreed to purchase a composite door. The salesperson noted that the door was not a standard size but assured us that the surveyor would let us know whether the door could be fitted and that he wouldn’t take payment if the job wasn’t possible, and if that was the case then we would get our deposit back straight away. When the surveyor visited we specifically asked him if the door would fit, he assured us it would, so we paid him the £275 in cash.
Two days before the door was due to be fitted we received a telephone call to state that the order had been cancelled because the door couldn’t be made by the manufacturers due to the size. They could only offer to supply of a UPVC door which wasn’t acceptable to us, and it was agreed that the company would reimburse the money paid. The person I was speaking to at the time stated that this would be dealt with by a different department, and someone would call me back. No one called us back.
During the next three months we rang the company THIRTY FOUR times, and always got palmed off with the promise that someone would call us back. We managed to get an email address and contacted them this way too. At one point they even claimed they couldn’t reimburse us because we had given them the wrong bank details, which was totally untrue.
Fortunately for us I had paid by credit card and was therefore able to claim my money back through the bank, otherwise I am convinced we would be out of pocket for nearly a thousand pounds.
After reading other reviews it would appear that we are not the only ones to experience this company policy to avoid paying out money which is owed to customers.
We have since had a door fitted by another company at a cheaper price.

After First choice refused to give a quote because my husband couldn't be present, I was given a quote based on Google maps. 6 thousand quid for new gutters.
A lucky escape for me, previous reviews confirm my thoughts.

NEW CONSERVATORY ROOF FITTED 2022. PROBLEMS FROM BEGINNING. OLD ROOF TAKEN OFF BUT NEW ROOF DID NOT FIT. FINALLY FINISHED AFTER 6 WEEKS. EVERY TIME WE HAVE A DOWNPOUR IT LEAKS, RAIN RUNNING OUT OF LIGHT SWITCH. BEEN TO "REPAIR" TWICE BEFORE BUT STILL LEAKS. HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT THEM BUT PHONE GOES UNANSWERED EVEN AFTER LEAVING MESSAGES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS YOU DONT GET ANY. CALLED THEM FOR THE LAST 2 DAYS ON THE HOUR EVERY HOUR STILL NO COMEBACK FROM THEM.

Good doors but had lots of problems post fitting and after care is awful. The company have left us with bifolds that have failed three times and now a door that we struggle to open (with 4 children and a dog) and will not lock properly so house is not properly secured, been over a month and still not resolved company just keep fobbing you off

Two sets of double French doors fitted with building work + two lintels fitted.
Initially great workers, polite, got the job done.
Moving forward - French doors are bowing, brick work is worse than prior too doors being fitted as has dropped (main concern why didn't want to replace - yet sold a dream).
Called to say not happy, someone was to come out - several failed turn ups. Then finally appears. The guy pleasant and tightens doors, explained building work. He agreed. Another person called, then finally another person comes out.
Gaps in framework, tried to fob me off drawing pictures saying it a not a gap. Let him carry on and continued to say okay so why is there a gap?! Partner let me continue as was clearly trying to fob of the "woman".
Asking me if I had my bathroom renovated as looked like new piping?! Was renovated back in 2021. No affect to brick work regardless if exterior pipe work had been changed prior.
Takes plenty photos, says will get right onto this. Amazing.
Hear nothjng, then get a phonecalls, are you still waiting on you other windows?! Laughable.
At this point began an email written process. Forwarded same email three times no response. Even after being told to send now whilst on phone. More phone calls man who came to house. Yes I will chase this now.
Still heard nothing.
This has been over a matter of almost 5 months!!!!!

Had roof done February 24. Wish we had got more quotes from other companies their price was thousands more than several neighbours paid for similar work.because of their quotes they missed out on 3 jobs in the street given to another firm,work completed to satisfactory standard.

Had new windows and doors, also had conservatory window and door replacement . Don't bother with this company the work is not done right . The after care is rubbish you ring them up and tell them you have a problem they say we will send somebody out. Nobody turns up I rang again a few weeks later , somebody turns up and says they know what the problem is, but he was going g on holiday it will be 2 weeks to do the job .guess what never turns up again, rang company said they will send someone. I think this company is having a laugh

We booked to have our fachias done and paid a 35% deposit in 2022. We paid the surveyor they sent out £275 cash. As two of our sons got married in 2023, we waited until the second wedding was over and then contacted the company, advising that we were happy for the work to be done. The company then sent another man out to review the work needed and he began to tell me that one side of the house was not in the contract, even though the initial man had written “ 3 sides scaff”, clearly on the form. I asked where the surveyor’s report was and the photos originally taken and he advised that they could not be produced. As we had no further money to add to this project, I advised that I would contact the office and explain the misunderstanding and ask for my deposit back. He snorted that this would NEVER happen! I then digested this information and said that I would have to have to write off the £1,200.

I will not bore you with the details, except to say that after 45 minutes spent with their representative, my mind was made up - I would rather write off £1,200, than have anyone from that company back at our property!

To cut a very long and sad story short, I wrote emails to this company. I followed their complaints procedure. I contacted the Ombudsman, who would have got involved if we had used a credit card, rather than a debit card (!!??).

We NEVER received a response at all! We asked for a copy of the surveyor’s report for which we paid £275 cash (on their instruction - we have this written down on the contract!), and have received nothing!

I cannot vouch either way for their standard of work. I can say, however, that we are £1,200 out of pocket, with nothing to show for it, except a very nasty experience.

Had my new door fitted yesterday by First Choice I’m very pleased with my fitting would recommend them to ALL

From start to finish we found every step was completed with great professionalism. We are very pleased with the end result and it turned out much better than we ever imagined. Everyone worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble. Their attention to detail was second to none.
