I had a Flavel cooker for 25 years and so bought a replacement one thinking it would be the same quality. The Flavel Milano G60 is very poorly designed. The grill gets too hot and has blistered the paintwork, the oven door is impossible to clean and the numbers on the oven control have worn off. I have had this cooker 7 years. Won't be buying a Flavel again. Very poor quality and design

Hard work booking a repair

I have a range cooker that came in our house. The gas hob recently went faulty so I called Flavel for an out of warranty repair. This took over an hour to book. I got cut off three times. I had to explain the issue to each new person I spoke to. Only call if you have got a lot of time and no appointments. I hope the actual repair is a better experience.

AVOID! POTENTIAL INJURY RISK!

So, it seems I join the multitudes of people who have found Flavel to be inferior, dangerous and generally sub- standard. Add that to beyond poor customer service and I think this should make the mind up of any potential buyer. I have a Milano G50 cooker. Within a matter of 3 months the plastic coating started to melt on the control knobs, primarily due to heat from the grill rising and heating them up to the point of needing a towel or oven glove to use them. The gas rings are also dangerous, I have had pans of boiling water or cooking oil almost slip off the surface potentially causing huge injuries! When grilling I've had flames literally staining the 'lip' between grill and hob from particularly fatty meats like Lamb chops. Imagine an old or infirm person using this, it fills me with dread! I contacted 'customer services', a term that raises a big laugh, they did send an engineer out but all he did was test that it worked to current standards and claim nothing else he could do. I raised the safety issue again with them but got fobbed off saying it was working within specification! Not even an offer to replace the melted control knobs, despite sending images to them! Shocking, poor, uncaring, disgraceful. Avoid this company's products like the plague!!!

EDIT: As of today, 01.06.24 my issue remains unresolved and despite several emails from the end of '23 up to date, no one has even had the decency or common courtesy to reply let alone take any action. I have now given them a two week ultimatum before seeking legal advice with a view to possibly suing them. I SAY AGAIN, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

I bought a Flavel cooker with eye level grill to replace a cooker which was over 30 years old. Really wish I had kept it. It was superior in EVERY way to the pile of rubbish I have now. Im not even going to bother listing its faults. Absolutely everything about it is poorly designed, and works badly. Dont buy one. Really, don't.

I bought a Flavel Milano 100 dual fuel cooker. The Grill doesn’t work and the door catch is stuck in the carcass of the oven, so oven door doesn’t stay shut. I would give it zero stars if I could neither Curry’s or Beko wanted to know after 19 phone calls I am now getting a replacement as I refused a repair as the cooker was faulty. Very disappointed won’t use curry’s or buy any Beko product again.

Shocking Oven, Worse Company to deal with

Bought a Flavel Oven. Faulty straight out of box. Nightmare company to deal with. BEKO in disguise avoid at all cost.
We bought a Flavel MLN9FRS from our local branch of Curry’s on the 7th February as we needed a replacement for our ageing AGA. The oven was delivered very fast from Curry’s. It sat in our dining room until we had it installed on the 10th March. We used the oven that weekend and was shocked on the noise been emitted from both ovens and the grill.
The ovens drone in various levels of leer jet and the grill sounds like the clackers you used to fit to your bike spokes.
We phoned Curry’s up and were told as it was over 28 days old it would have to be repaired !
This is when we find out our nice shiny Flavel is actually a BEKO in disguise. BEKO arranged for a third party engineer to pay a visit on the Friday 17th. My wife waited in all day before calling them to find out when their engineer would call. She was told that they had been trying to call her to tell her that they had covid in the office ! They had a digit wrong on her mobile phone along with the wrong surname. They arranged it for the following Friday.
Their engineer ripped up and I formed my wife that both cooling fans are faulty ! This is brand new straight out of the box. Today 29th March we have called the third party company to be told that they haven’t got the parts and they can’t guarantee a date for delivery as they can’t give me a morning or afternoon appointment ! Even when the part comes in !
I’ve called BEKO and got no sense, just a girl I couldn’t understand telling me the same thing over and over again. So I called Curry’s who eventually told me seen as the delay is unsatisfactory that I had to call BEKO back and request an uplift number. So i did. This time a girl I could understand all be it a very poor line. But BEKO can’t do an uplift as Curry’s said they could. So I’m still none the wiser as to when I can cook a hot meal in my nice shiny new oven. Curry’s slag BEKO off. BEKO slag Curry’s off and they both slag third party engineer off. Meanwhile Customer had to suck it up buttercup. We will never deal with any of the three companies again as long as we live. Customer Service ? None existent. Disgraceful by all three. Should have gone for the Belling from AO.

Flavel Diamond Fire, Flimsy and dangerous

Bought a Flavel Diamond living flame gas fire because we liked the style. Expensive, but very poorly made, flimsy, bits loose and don't fit, sooted up and gave off Carbon Monoxide on low heat setting. Poor heat output. The remote control is difficult to use and doesn't work well either. Customer service are useless, if you can get through to them at all. Replaced it with a different fire, but haven't been able to get a refund.

Faulty ignition and thermostat x2

My mother replaced her Flavel G50 Milano with the slightly updated model, the first one packed up with a faulty thermostat after 4 years, the oven was basically only running on full heat, even on setting 1 on the dial ( the repair man condemned it ) November 2021 she gets the same model.. January 2021 ( under 14 months from new ) the ignition for the oven stops working, the dial barely lowers the flame from the highest setting... now I have to find a repair man and hope that he doesn't slap a condemned notice on this one... I think everyone with a problem with a Flavel should contact a TV consumer show to shame the company into sorting their terrible products out!

Flavel MLN9CRS range cooker - no support

I contacted Flavel for advice about a failed grill on their MLN9CRS range cooker. The appliance is in a house I have just purchased and it is out of warranty, regardless of which, I've not had quite such a dreadful response from the manufacturer/supplier of an expensive appliance. Having checked their website, this is still a current model and the following is copied and pasted from their response :-

Thank you for your email dated 02/01/2023 in reference to your Flavel product.

Unfortunately we do not hold, or have access to, any information relating to the internal repair of oor products.

Kind Regards, Malc, Flavel Customer Services

They have confirmed to me that both Flavel products and Flavel service are equally cheap and nasty, best avoided and when I replace my kitchen, I shall certainly avoid their products. That would also be my advice to any prospective future Flavel customer.

Spent over £600 on a Flavel 7 ringed cooker 3 years ago. Within 6 months, I needed someone to come and look at it as the largest rings flame was difficult to ignite and then kept going out. The guy fixed it...for a short while...before the cooker started doing the same thing again. 3 years later it still messes me about and is also rusting. I wish I hadn't got rid of my old cooker for this piece of junk.
