We're sorry that you're unhappy with our cancellation fee. Our fees are clearly stated when the policy is taken out.

Do anything not to pay claims

I have been trying to make a claim since January 2024. My claim was referred to a company called Davies Group who have experts in delay, avoidance and irrelevant requests for information. The claim was finally declined citing nothing to do with all the questions or evidence they required (all of which was provided). Have put in a complaint and asked them to request info from engineer that they have avoided. Waiting yet again. The policy is cheap but is worthless when you need it. I’m moving to NACO. A bit more expensive but helpful and reliable when you really need them.

claim 2677579

I was transferred from Frank Pickles Insurance to Davies Group Ltd - I've tried to make a claim for months and have gotten nowhere with either of these companies. I have sent all documentation they have request and still keep getting told 7days response and never hear back. The dampness is also getting worse, due to the current storms and us getting into winter. No one is yet to be out to assess the damage and i can only imagine its to get worse the colder it gets. I'm getting to the stage the van will become unusable due to the mold & it's causing a great deal of stress. I will like someone to contact me urgently to arrange to have this fixed!

Had to cancel my policy within the first 14 days. Phone was answered quickly and told to email the cancellation details. Few hours later a notification email that my money would be refunded minus the £25 fee clearly advertised. Very straight forward and commendable. Well done. (Haven’t got the money yet, but it is the same day still!)

Wouldn’t even give it one star but had…

Wouldn’t even give it one star but had to go write a review.I have a static caravan sited on a leisure park.since I’ve had that van I’ve always insured it through Frank Pickles, never have a problem taking your money..a drunk driver crashed into my bedroom of the van at 2am while I was sleeping,I’m actually lucky to be able to write this as thankfully still alive, despite witnesses, police included court case conclusion of guilty verdict plus two structural engineer’s writing my caravan off,Frank pickles are refusing to honour this because I have an old for new policy, utterly disgusting for what should have been an open and shut case, their basically saying they don’t believe me despite all the evidence.my renewal policy was due up-they have now refused insurance on my van, mind I’ve been with this company for years,I said”that was because they know the state my van is in because of this accident and engineers writing it of”but they said it wasn’t 🤷‍♀️really??when there was never a problem before..I have now been left severely out of pocket due to a drunk driver and this insurance company refusing to pay what’s due because I had an old for new policy with them since I purchased the caravan. As if this incident was not traumatic and stressful enough with my health,Court case and state my van was in due to this has gave me severe added stress..take insurance out to give you peace of mind?? Vile the way I’ve been treated by this company and now I’ve had to go to ombudsman regarding this matter which should have been an open and shut case-they just don’t want to pay out!! Disgusting for something that was no fault of my own and it’s clearly in black and white to see along with a legal court conviction-unacceptable totally unacceptable to treat customers like this 😡

You Provide A Service Not Favours

Have insured my caravan with FP for about 4 years and to be honest it was my first insurance of this type, and to be honest the inital set up was like an interragaition. I thought they were the experts but I had to provide exact prices for everthing never mind "market value"
I always found their attitude when contacting was like they were doing me some kind of favour.
This year my renewal came and did not include last years price so I did a bit of research and found 9 quotes 8 of them between £1-200 cheaper, so contacted theem to discuss...Their anaswer "well we couldent insure you anyway this year due to the value of your caravan!!
I have now gone to one of the other cheaper companies, who spoke to me like they actually wanted to provide me with a service, and good value.

Pointless company - not worth the paperwork

Had our caravan smashed up whilst in storage. Reported to Frank Pickles insurance who were supposed to contact the person responsible and get or £350 excess back and they have never bothered. You're better off without insurance than being with these!

Moved home due to a posting with the…

Moved home due to a posting with the military and had to change where our caravan was stored. This company refused to insure our caravan at the new storage site, told us we would have to cancel and charged us £50 for the privilege.
Have had quotes from multiple firms who have agreed to insure at this site (which I hasten to add is a reputable firm with 40 years experience storing caravans)
Have just seen multiple reviews on trust pilot relating to unfair cancellation fees. I wish I had stayed away from this company. Disgusting customer service considering I didn’t want to cancel and they weren’t even able to give a valid reason as to why they wouldn’t continue the policy.

Still The Best Value Insurance

Been with this company for years. Website easy to use and self explanatory. I never usually accept the renewals offered and search for best deal. The fact that FP don't try and boost your premium each year, unnecessarily, means I've stuck with them. This year's increase was £2.50 on last year so very happy.
Documents appear in confirmation of purchase email so no issues they can accessed immediately. Printed off copy for site management. Done.

Unhelpful response to my email

I tried to cancel our Home Emergency policy a couple of weeks before it was due to expire to give notice that we did not wish to Renew the policy. ( It was due to expire on 24th April 2021). The email I sent received an unfriendly reply which stated that I would have to contact them on the very day it expired and not at any time before! I have not encountered this business practice before so I found the reply both unhelpful and unprofessional .

Cancellation fees are scandalous

I sold the caravan and cancelled the insurance within 6 weeks of the start date. I was charged £50. cancellation fees and ended up with a £10.99 refund.

I also found that they do not accept cancellations over the phone. You have to do it by email. I wonder why ?

Massive cancellation fee for what?

I contacted Frank Pickles to cancel my static caravan insurance as I have sold it. There were two months left on the policy and was due a refund of £26. They imposed a charge of £50 to cancel the policy so in effect I wasn't due a refund. What a joke they are, how can they justify a charge for cancelling a policy, it's a simple process on the computer. There's not a chance I will be insuring with them again, neither will I recommend them to anybody.

Shall cancel my insurance policy

Just had one of their contractors round who said no, they won't cover it.. They don't cover anything, they'll always get out of it! One of their contractors! I'm going to cancel my insurance with them.
