FRA worst ever airport experience of my…
FRA worst ever airport experience of my lifetime. Ive travelled 59 years, my extended family is all in europe, including both sets of grandparents. Sometimes you understand disorder, when it is weather related or pilots on strike etc. But FRA is Chaos of empty mazes, crowds, and unhelpful people. Ive had better experiences in 3rd world countries. Immigration took 2 hours, and 20 minutes with just the agent and my family of 5. Huge crowds and lines, and unhelpful mazes. The gate for our direct flight to SFO was tiny, could only seat maybe 100 people? We were all crowded into hallways. Took bus and stood on tarmac in 95 degree heat, no line control or civility in Germany, just a big scramble off the bus to climb the stairs to the plane. I will stick with AMS, Munich or Zurich next time. The only thing i like about FRA is the easy drive in and out of airport, and access to trains. We met a expat from Frankfurt visiting her family and she said "it is the worst airport in the world, everytime I come, my experience is different and unpredictable". For me it is surreal because Germany has such a culture of organization, the FRA just does not feel German, and yet it is?

Last decades the airport changed from worse to terrible. Rude staff, non-operative escalators, not organized boarding procedures. Many flights start from field position, requiring bus drive and climb with hand luggage multiple stairs. Not acceptable at all for hub claiming to be central in Europe
Worst Airport experience we had in my…
Worst Airport experience we had in my lifetime travel the world. We were transferring and took me 2:30 hours to reach my gate to gate. They checked my passport 3 times and everywhere big lines. Even we show people begging inside the airport. No wondering getting like 3rd world country. Never going through This airport Again.
Avoid …
Extremely long lines for passport control and security, many people missed their flights. Outrageous prices for simple things like water. Highest I’ve ever seen. Will avoid at all costs.

Rude and unhelpful staff at every level. Misinformation from almost everyone. We spent 12 hours trying to rebook from a missed flight. Still could not get a ticket. We were told to go online and book. We ended up have to buy airline tickets twice to get home. Most horrific airport experience ever. Long lines in every aspect. I am at a point of never wanting to do forgien travel again. If I can rate it zero, I would.
Worst airport experience ever
This is quite possibly the worst airport I’ve ever been in in my life. Avoid at all costs. An embarrassment to the entire country.
If I could give 0 stars I really would
If I could give 0 stars I really would. I have transited through Frankfurt before around 7 years ago with friends and the staff were slow, rude and really unhelpful.
My wife and I had to transit via Frankfurt to get to slovenia for our summer holiday. Upon the return to the UK, lufthansa delayed take off by around 30 minutes and our transit time was 90 minutes. So many other passengers had the same issue and the staff told everyone it was one line to move through this pointless interim check.
Fortunately our flight back to the UK was delayed and we managed to get to the front of passport control. My wife got through but the clerk said there was an issue with my fingerprint and that there were two accounts - bearing in mind he had just logged in and was not concentrating on me but helping his colleague out. In the end the clerk gave up and took me to the airport police - I told him my wife was waiting to board and what would happen if I missed my flight due to this clerical issue. He simply responded " it's not my problem", " you will have to deal with it yourself".
No one inside the station said anything to me and then another man chucked my passport onto the desk. I also noticed they spoke very rudely to an African German lady which I found very aggravating.
In the end the clerk said the computer wouldn't log on but thankfully he let me go so I could board my flight.
I have travelled non stop for a year to every continent apart from the Antarctic and I have never had any issue in other airports and I can safely say Frankfurt is probably one of the worst airports in the entire world.
Terrible airport: poor signage, long lines.
Sprawling international airport but with very poor signage and very long and inefficient passport control. The antiquated bus transportation between terminals takes forever and it was sweltering in the over crowded buses. If you are laboring under the impression that Germans are efficient, you'll change your mind if you have to make a connection at the Frankfurt Airport. I'll avoid this airport for future travel.
The worst airport in Germany and Europe…
The worst airport in Germany and Europe probably! Not only it’s so badly build, that every gate is far from your arrival, but also I have almost missed my connecting flight due to enormous queue for the passport control and then again for the security checks. Why connecting flights need to have security check, when every passenger has gone though one at the destination of departure? And the staff: slow, don’t care and frankly quite rude.
Worst airport in the world
Worst airport in the world, worst staff in the world, worst customer service in the world. The environment is full of hatred and evilness. Missed my flight because of the actions and behavior of the ignorant hateful staff. In passport control the worker took his sweet time making sure to look up every five seconds and talk to his co worker beside him even with the very long line of people waiting to catch their connecting flight. One star is far more than this airport deserves.

This is one of the worst airport in the world . Staffs , immigration officer has No politeness, No civics sense , and misbehaving with guest. I exepirienced very Bad during my transit flights . My flight was canceled due lack of unavaibility officer and slow work process and negligence .
I kindly recommented to all Dont choose this airport and Luftansa airline for future .
Unbelievable experience today first…
Unbelievable experience today first time through Frankfurt airport. Had to take a bus after plane landed from Zurich. Went through three different security lanes. Incredibly inefficient design. Terminal Z was packed with people and had tiny, closet-sized bathroom to accommodate the thousands of people in the area. Checked in and then was herded to another jam-packed bus to take us out to our flight-a 787 Jetliner to the US. The entire time I’m shaking my head and saying, “this is an international airport?” It appears to have long ago outgrew its capacity.
Never had such an inefficient, head-scratching experience at an airport. Never again.
the absolute worst travel experience…
the absolute worst travel experience ever. i had a connecting flight from atlanta to frankfurt to salzburg. we landed in frankfurt and it is absolute chaos. no sense of directions or order. we had to go through border patrol to before getting to our salzburg flight. the line was RIDICULOUS. even in the atlanta airport, it's never that bad. and there was only ONE person checking passports. and a lot of staff were very rude as in they did not care that SO many people had to change flights. and everytime we asked a staff member a question, they always have different answers. i missed my original flight due to this, i am currently waiting to see if i can board the next flight to salzburg and i am never coming back here again.
Incredibly rude staff
Incredibly rude staff - not every one is rude of course, but enough people to ruin your day. The security staff broke a $99 dollar pair of headphones then had the audacity to scream at me that it was my fault he dropped it.
The airport is huge but poorly organized. You walk forever only to get to your gate to take a bus to another place, etc.
One of the worst international airports I have flown through.
Avoid if possible
I would avoid this airport if possible. Flying in to the airport was ok. Time to get past immigration was average as was getting baggage. Flying out of, however, atrocious. I arrived three hours prior to boarding time and almost missed my flight. Checking my bag with Condor took about an hour. Not necessarily the airports fault. Immigration took another hour. Very slow line. They had seven booths open but it was just taking long. The security line was painfully slow. Took well over an hour. When I got to security, out of 13 lanes, only 4 were open. There was a huge crowd waiting and the line was hardly moving at all. If they hadn’t opened 2 more lanes, I would have certainly missed my flight. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the arrival.

Do not travel through FRA for a connection flight. Avoid at all costs.
Stressful experience
Shockingly bad signage and confusing layout throughout. You walk for miles just clinging onto a hope that you’ll get somewhere, anywhere. Priority Pass lounge inexplicably situated outside the terminal 1.
Can’t fault the staff, though: most of them helpful and friendly. They work with what they’ve got &that’s the extra star for. Otherwise Frankfurt really feels like an overblown third world airport in terms of functionality and available services. More was expected.
Horrible airport!
Horrible airport! Don’t go to this airport!! The staff is awful, really unhelpful and rude, and nobody knows anything or wants to help with anything. Everything takes a really long time at this airport and all the staff is so slow. The layout of this airport is really insufficient and disorganized and you need more time than you think to get to where you need to be! Do not land here for a layover, it’s not worth it!
Just avoid this airport at all costs
Just avoid this airport at all costs. Yes it’s big with nice shops and layout but airports should first and foremost be efficient. This is without doubt the most inefficient airport I have ever travelled through. They simply cannot process the volume of travellers. My queue for passport control was at a minimum over 1000 people long. To make it worse half of the passport control points were closed - simply unacceptable for the high fees this airport charges. They know exactly when and how many passengers will be entering the system yet they can’t manage it. As a business traveller I will avoid this mess of an airport in future. If you value your sanity find another route.
