I pre-booked a ride with a tip. The driver said he wouldn’t pick me up even though I paid. I had no ride to the airport late at night. Very scary. Wandering around, no clue of what to do. The first day in Greece, taxis were on strike. Then when I do use a taxi, this is what happens. Of all the countries I’ve visited, this is the worse ride ap and the absolute worse taxi experience! I advise you learn the bus and metro system.

I was running late instead of using buses I downloaded the Freenow app then booked taxi only because they seemed to have driver available within four minutes at the compared to other taxis that I normally use such as Uber, Bolt.
The app picked slightly further location not sure how. However driver called me as I was already out looking for the car. Soin as I got into the car the driver said he could not take us in ( my son and I) because I cancelled the trip and he showed me message on his phone which says he could not be paid because location is wrong meanwhile on my app it showed message that trip cancelled by driver. I did not have data on my phone so couldn't rebook and there was no way I could cancel journey without ata or access to internet .
While I was making alternate arrangement I saw message on my phone that I am charged for cancellation fee. I managed to be hot spotted I messaged company through my app asking for refund and I attached screenshot with message that driver cancelled trip and trip did not happen. I received message that I will receive voucher which I immediately declined because there is no way I will use this company again.
Two hours later my PayPal was charged with full journey price even high than what was displayed at time of booking. In total I am charged for cancellation fee as well as trip that did not happen. I am still waiting to hear about my refunds not vouchers. I am worried that my non UK card is charged for all these. This company is rip off. Their customer service do not have number fir customers to call hence they think they will just charge customers as they wish. Please avoid this company is proper rip off. How possible is it to charge for cancelled dtrip because according to them I cancelled ? Why do I get charged for cancellation fee meanwhile it is their driver who cancelled? Shameful!!!!!!

This app is not prebooking as it seems to imply. Last night we booked at taxi but really it doesn't pre book, all it does is hail a cab at the time you want it and there were none available. Got left stranded at the 02 on a tube strike day.

FreeNow’s customer service is terrible. I was sent an email offering a 50% discount on trips with no warning that this only applied to “ride” trips rather than taxi trips, despite the default option on the app being taxi trips. The customer services responses were utterly unclear as to this being the reason for the voucher not having worked and told me it would apply for future trips, I can only assume so that I would continue booking full price trips through them in the hope of using the voucher. I have previously had issues with charges for cancelled trips when those trips were cancelled by the driver rather than me. I have experienced consistently poor customer service from FreeNow and have now deleted the app and my account. Anyone having similar issues should start using Gett, it’s far more user friendly and the customer service far better.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
This is by far the worst ride hailing app I've ever used. First, whenever you make a booking they authorise your card but if a driver cancels and the ride doesn't take place they don't immediately release your funds! I've only gotten my money back after 1 month.
Second, on a separate occasion I was charged for a ride which never happened because the driver cancelled. This was 1.5 months ago and I still don't have my money back!
The customer service is unresponsive, their service is completely unreliable and they charge you for rides that didn't even take place

Awful. I had the unlucky chance to use this app today and I am not happy. I had to cancel my card because of their ridiculous payment system. It is unclear how much they’re charging you, and whether the ride has been confirmed or not.

The driver I booked literally let other people in the cab thinking they were me and was about to drive away lol

the discounts are not applied until after the ride has happened and then they charge you an arbitrary amount of money.

Never using it again.

Awful. No contact number to be found anywhere. Have been let down many times with drivers cancelling bookings. Trying to get to airport. App says pre-booking for 6 am is confirmed but no driver assigned and no way to check a taxi will show up. And spare me the stupid bot - totally useless

What a terrible and utterly disgusting service
I ordered a text Xmas day and I’m a vulnerable young lady just wanting to get home , but the driver by the name of Sakaria.A canceled for no reason and charged me a cancellation fee of £6
I then called up customer service and spoke Miguel who was extremely rude and abrupt with me .
Avoid this service of possible.

My son booked a cab to pick up myself and my husband, who is in a wheelchair, to go from our house to his four days before the day we required it. Admittedly this was for Christmas Day but at the time it should have arrived he got a message informing him there were no cabs available. We had no other way of transporting my husband so my son had to come to our house and push him in the wheelchair to my son’s house. This is about a mile but was not a good start to what should have been a happy family day. Surprise, surprise the cab booked to take us home again in the evening also failed to materialize so my son had to push my husband back to our house this time in the pouring rain. I know it was Christmas Day but why would this company accept a booking for such a day when they must have known it was unlikely any cabs would be available. I think it is disgusting to leave a disabled person in such a situation and, quite frankly, it ruined our Christmas. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I booked a taxi in Athens twice. The first time I got charged the maximum amount as soon as I booked the ride ( I said okey they probably going to refund me if the ride costs less) when my ride finished they charged me extra so they took two payments from my debit without authorisation. I booked again next day because I thought there must have been a mistake but same thing happened. I emailed them and they said that they’re charging a legal extra fee for every ride that isn’t mentioned while you making the booking and refused to refund me. Rides are always more than the maximum amount that shows up when you’re calling a taxi.
I’d recommend used Taxiplon for rides in Greece. You only pay when the trip is finished not beforehand which means you’re not paying if you don’t agree with the amount and it’s always closer to the minimum amount never exceeds the maximum. They also not charging any extra fees. Taxiplon thank you you saved my life in Athens 😅

Pre-booked a taxi in London 24 hours ahead. Got a reminder 15 min ahead. Then at the appointed time I got a notification that no drivers were available. We walked down the street and successfully hailed a cab within a minute. Very disappointing to be let down like this.

God awful service level. I booked a taxi for my daughter, the app told me €43-55 - the bill was €86!!
I complained to their customer service and instead of doing any kind of deep dive into this they offered me a €5 credit. Muppets.
On 3 other occassion their cabs have failed to turn up for a booking.
I'll try Lynx, see if they're any more reliable

I had a driver yesterday Maksud Ahmed C. And he has been so far, out of all cabbies I've taken, the best. Ever so accommodating and is genuine. He looks out for his customers and I've accidentally left my ID in his car and is going out of his way to return it to me. He had a similar problem with a previous customer leaving their phone and he was ever so helpful and courteous to the other customer too. He is the best and should be recognised!

I’m a single female who often takes a FreeNow or taxi via the FreeNow app later at night for safety reasons. I’m not feeling so safe.

Recently, I’ve been harassed continuously by drivers asking me personal questions like am I living alone etc, forcing their number on me (easier to take it than argue that I don’t want it) and then even attempting to come in.

Do you have sensitivity training at all?

Free now has an option to pre book a ride. I used the feature only to be told that they couldn’t find any drivers. Like what is the sense of having the feature when a driver can’t be confirmed at least an hour before pick up ! This really inconvenienced me

Third time I’ve used you, 2nd time you haven’t turned up! I prebooked lastnight for 06:20 this morning from my home to St Pancras International. Whilst waiting until 06:30 (you state the taxi will arrive up to 06:30) we booked an uber. It turned up so bang on 06:30 I cancelled the ride now taxi. What do I see only after cancelling! That no driver picked up the job!!!! So I would still be standing there now at 06:49 waiting! How the heck can you run such a shambolic set up? The previous time you did this was when I booked a taxi to collect me after a flight & you did the same then. You’re excuse was the system & it was known! You offered a pathetic £5 compensation, that inconvenience cost me 2hrs. Now I’m in an Uber to St Pancras & if I miss this eurostar train it will cost me a day, as I’ll miss my connection to Berlin. So please explain how this utter shambles is allowed to take place?

You preorder a taxi and you are charged a £5 cancellation fee if you are 5 minutes late! The driver cancels on you even if you are happy to pay waiting time and he can't call you as he hasn't got your number! What grifters are these crooks eh?

Awful simply a fraud. Took it 4-5 times in greece it is a rip off . From xxx to yyy euros is always charged the highest price. Then another surcharge comes with a pitiful excuse .. and the two cat cars if you want a newer one is also a lie. Never again.

I downloaded it for 50% discount on the 1st 3 rides.

I booked a taxi to the airport for £25 with discount.

The driver took the fare and didn't move for 10 mins, I had to cancel or risk being late for my flight. I later found out I was charged £15 NOT the £6 advertised cancellation fee.

As I was now going to be late I had to book a Black cab - advertised fare of £72/£36 with discount.

I was charged 100% of the fare - the discount wasn't applied.

I emailed them x3 they replied once saying they would investigate and respond in 5 days. I never heard back or got a refund.

They are cowboys.
