Overall, I’m a big fan of FRW. They have an incredible catalogue of wines, a pretty complete offering when it comes to Bordeaux EP, and some interesting opportunities to buy from other collections.... See more

There is no personal attention or engagement like there was in the past - with a focused relationship manager etc
Only emails and direct click and order so no guidance

My consultant Thomas Chaumet is brilliant at keeping me informed and his emails are so insightful. His recommendations are spot on.

The online browsing and ordering experience is clear and easy, while the variety of wines on offer is extensive.

Great fine wine merchant who provides useful online portfolio tools and a good personal service to help you build , or manage, a fine wine collection.

I have a portfolio of wines worth over 20K GBP . My approach was to focus on Bordeaux en Primeur wines, buy double what was required for personal consumption and wait 3 or 4 years years and then sell half the allocation to fund a good quality of wine at a lower price due to profit on the bottles sold. The platform advertises itself as a trading platform, with market value prices associated with every case of wine. the platform states " With effortless listing, promotion to our extensive network and valuation advice, there's no easier way to sell wine and spirits in your collection" . This is far from the reality. Over a year ago I decided i wanted to sell at least 50% of my portfolio. IT has taken over 12 months to sell about 20% of my wine , even with a floor price that renders little or no profit after commission. I would like to sell my entire portfolio at as little a loss as possible and cut my losses but the platform is not a market platform and selling is based on best endeavours, who seem to have difficulty finding buyers. Meanwhile I am sitting on a portfolio of wines I can not sell whilst incurring significant storge fees as time goes by. Customer service are fine for delivery and purchase advice but act a s a filter /screen to anyone involved on the commercial selling side. It is impossible to talk to anyone from accounts to get a clear transaction based view of my account and on request to speak to someone I was told i could only talk to accounts via email.

All my wines were transferred from UK to Italy rapidly and with minimum involvement from myself. It was delivered perfectly packed on my doorstep on the planned day.
The Italian team (Giulia) was very helpful and responsive. Thank you again for this 5* service.

Good selection of wines but delivery is extortionate with significant profit being made on it. Delivering a 6 pack via a courier without any urgency does not cost £19.20.

If you want to buy wine they have a good selection at keen market prices. Delivery is efficient.
For other aspects of their business, customer service, portfolio management, trading, etc. this has been my experience over at least a decade: they are beyond useless. It's as standard impossible to get someone useful to speak to via telephone. Emails go unanswered for weeks at a time, if at all. The receptionist - if you can get one - tries to help but can only do so much. Wines take weeks or months to be landed into your account, and then sometimes wrongly, taking more weeks to correct. Commission prices for me have been all over the place. Market estimates are sometimes wrong, sometimes wildly wrong, and take a stupid amount of time and hassling to get them to fix on a reliable basis. There is no way to get unpriced wines priced without casting emails into the blue yonder and hoping one day someone reads the in the dim distant future. A sales proposition to me was originally not honoured at the agreed price and has taken many weeks to finally get agreement of my money for - though a credit has still not been applied to my account. They blame software updates which took place what must now be 1-2 years ago. The entire storage and portfolio management part of their business is frankly shambolic beyond belief.

FINE+RARE is a scam! They sold us wines that they didn't have and do not arrange refund.
Invoice: 260079800
We paid the invoice on 18 November 2024, received the wines one month after but there were 3 magnums missing from the delivery. On 20 Dec 2024 FINE+RARE confirmed the wines were missing from the delivery and agreed to arrange a refund.
It's 10 Feb 2025 today, we still haven't heard a word from FINE+RARE!

I was previously a customer of F+R and spent a significant amount on wine. However, I was consistently dissatisfied with their customer service. I never had a dedicated account manager and was shuffled between different representatives, which was very frustrating. Additionally, after cancelling an order for a case of wine, I was subjected to relentless emails demanding payment. Eventually, I received a threatening email that mentioned legal action if I didn't pay. This aggressive behaviour is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to avoid doing business with F+R
The customer service is a disaster and crap. The reservist statement was issued, but after 5 or even 6 business days the amount is still not in my GBP account. The customer service asked for my account number like SWIFT etc and that's it. Silence. And when contacted, an automated message replied they are not available at the moment. Huh? During office hours?

I was persuaded to move a case of 2008 Chateau Bellevue Mondotte from Berry Brothers to Fine + Rare on 23/02/23. Berry Brothers confirmed that the wine was delivered to LCB Tilbury on 23rd May under booking reference TD050279. Despite asking for confirmation from Fine + Rare I've heard nothing.
