Scam

Same as everyone else I scanned a QR code at a restaurant to download their menu and ended up signing up to this awful company. I contacted them to explain my situation and got nowhere. Avoid at all cost!

SCAM COMPANY GAMESBOX PRO

SCAM COMPANY GAMESBOX PRO! Luckily I saw reviews on here just in time, they took a £1 authorisation fee from my bank, I couldn't stop that, 'my own fault'! This was was because I thought I was authorising 'Temu' via a Facebook ad! I phoned my bank as soon as I could to block any further access.

Scam Merchants!

I got scammed into giving this company my card details via a QR code which misdirected me when I was trying to pay for parking. In spite of changing my credit card, I have been robbed of nearly £40 per month for 6 months. I also blame the credit card company. I've only just found out Gamesbox has taken my money for 6 months in spite of changing my credit card! AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY ARE JUST SCAMMERS.

Same as everyone else on here.

Same as everyone else on here. £1 to access/verify an App then next minute I look at my credit card a £39.99 payment. I contacted Barclays who informed me it was a recurring subscription to add insult to injury. Barclays to be fair seem so far to have been good and trying to resolve the matter but I would avoid anything to do with this "company" with a barge pole. Utter scammers.

My husband was scammed by games box

My husband was scammed by games box. He had a birthday voucher (all for one) he used the QR code to try to go onto the voucher website to activate his voucher. Unknown to him it directed him to gamesbox which he put his card details in to pay £1 as he thought that's what he needed to do to access the voucher. It then directed him to the baking app, which he decided not to authroise. Didn't think much more about it but then noticed games box had took the £1 out our bank. Two days later £39.99 was pending. We reported them to fraud department at the bank, which luckily they are sorting out. Very stressful!! There is no such company as games box, no website, no contact details.

Clever scam

As many others of you experienced. I was conned into a subscription, used a QR code to download my bank mobile App, so the irony. I do not even have a contact for gamebox. The gamebox internet search for contact did seem to get me to a non-functioning customer support page with bouncing emails. Currently struggling to get in touch with them to cancel the subscription which as many of you see, the banks systems approve.

Complete CON ARTISTS

I bought some cheap Smartwatches from Tesco, for myself and my partner. There were leaflets in the boxes, claiming I needed to register to activate all services on them. I did so, for two watches at £1 each and thought no more about it. Had a call from the fraud department of my bank today, asking if I was aware of transactions with Gamebox.pro, which I wasn't. The bank told me that there have been multiple attempts to take £38.99 from my account. They declined them all. They have now cancelled my debit card and will issue a new one so I have no access to my current account until the new one arrives, next week.
BEWARE OF THESE CON ARTISTS AND AVOID!

Gamesbox Pro SCAM

Accidentally authorised payment for £1.00 when signing up for an app. Now they've taken £39.99. Was unable to stop the payment. Have frozen my card. Unable to find any contact details for the company to dispute this. Contact bank fraud team who have passed me to debit card dispute team saying canceling my card won't make any difference - the subscription will carry over to the new card. Now waiting for debit dispute team to hopefully take action. Loosing sleep.

Utter Fraudsters

I've had to click one star when I'd actually give them none.
I too was misled whilst trying to scan an app to order food on an LNER train. They took £1, then within 6 weeks had taken 2 payments of £39.99. For absolutely nothing. Utter fraudsters. I've reported as fraud via my bank. How do they sleep at night?

Another conned victim

I did not intend to subscribe to this company but was misled into doing so. I have tried to cancel but I am just ignored. Surely something can be done to shut this company down?

AVOID!

I inadvertently gave them information while attempting to access TNT sports on a tablet. Quite how they manage to insert themselves into legitimate apps is a puzzle, but from reading other comments on here it is clear they manage to do so.
They say they are refunding me - but I will need to keep a very close eye on bank account for some time.
