This company is a scam
This company is a scam. I was signing into bbc I player and they hijacked the site and asked for my card details. I was unaware of the subscription and that they were going to take first a pound, then 2 pounds and then 39.99. I have contacted them via email 3 times and via the website twice. My bank has cancelled my card and is investigating the fraud
I bought a new microwave and it came…
I bought a new microwave and it came with a QR code so I scanned it to register my warranty which I was charged £1 for, or so I thought! This was the scam that caused me to then be charged £39.99 in December and another £39.99 for January which is pending, called my bank which havent been very helpful so far, but have cancelled my card. Emailed gamesbox for a refund as I have had no service or product from them. If I have not received a refund in next 2 days I will contact the police for fraudulent transactions! I have also deleted my QR reader. Unscrupulous behaviour. And today you took that pending £39.99!!!
Money taken without my knowledge for I don't know what.
I was checking my bank account only to find I have had in all £40 taken from my bank account by Game Box Pro. I have no idea how this has happened as I have signed nothing up with them. I got in touch with my bank who could not explain it, only I must have clicked on something!! ?? They have blocked any more payments to them. I cancelled my card. They have stolen from me.
I now realise it was while I was using a QR code sent to set up Netflix. The date ties in to the scam. This scam is infiltrating everywhere.
Complete scammers
Complete scammers. I clicked on a QR code at Wagamamas and it took me into these scammers' account. I thought that I was paying for Wagamamas but was inadvertently signing up to this scummy company. Bank not particularly helpful 😕
After a couple of strongly worded emails my money has now been refunded by Gamesbox. It turns out that somehow the QR code reader on my phone has been hacked. I have now deleted it.
A total scam
A total scam. I paid £1 to get priority access to tickets to see The Killers then this outfit tried to take £39.99 as a subscription. Reported to my bank, payment blocked & reported as fraudsters. Like others I thought I was digitally aware but these rogues are clever.
UPDATE - Feb 2024
Thankfully I got my money back via my bank. Then got an email from these fraudsters saying ‘we’re sorry you are leaving’ 🤬🤬🤬

SCAMMERS Took £1 when I tried to download a parking app. They tried to take £39.99 from my account. Thankfully my bank has blocked the transaction, but I've had to order a new card...
fraud - reported to police
Tho digitally aware I fell for this scam - it comes up when you load the Trainline app via the QR code and you think trainline is asking for your credit card details so you add your credit card and then you realise it's a £1 scam with an email to say you are going to pay them a monthly sub. I've reported as fraud to my bank, my bank have asked for the £1 refund and marked as fraud. I've also cancelled my card and will be reporting to the police. Trainline - sort out your security and protect your customers!
Scam
Took money from my account without permission, I haven't subscribed to anything, fuming !!
Took £39.99 last month, tried to take it again tonight and took £2 another day, a £1 another day, bank are investigating fraud.
I fell for this scam when I did a…Google search for a parking app
I fell for this scam when I did a Google search for a parking app. Their website was first on the list and I assumed it was the parking app I was giving my bank details to. At no time during the application procedure for the app was it evident that this was a gaming website. When this became apparent to me I immediately phoned my bank to cancel my card. I was unable to cancel my subscription using the cancel subscription button but an email to their customer support seems to have done the trick. I have also complained to Google as they also appear to be enabling and supporting this scam.
Scam Artists
Like others on here. I was using a QR scanner to activate a QR code. I assumed that £1 required was for the service I wanted, but it turns out that it was Gamesbox. This £1 is for a short trial and then they want £40 per month. I had to cancel my Credit Card to prevent further fraud.
I was replying to query on ebay when…
I was replying to query on ebay when this popped up I thought it was part of ebay. Luckily I used Revolut to pay the £1. On realising it was a scam I froze my Revolut card and ordered a new one. Luckily I only lost £1 to these scammers
Scam
Scam. I was connecting my ALEXA device to the Wi Fi and these people interacted and stole my bank details and took money from my account without my permission. I have started the process of getting my money back.
Its a shame there isn't a zero star score.
This is a scam company
This is a scam company. My partner thought he was paying for parking when he scanned the QR code. He then paid £1. A week later £39.99 went out of the account. Money we don’t have!! Please don’t go near this company
Scam
Scam. Whilst I was loading up an app to recharge my electric car, something appeared which I thought was part of the process. It turns out to have been this gamesbox.pro, which took £1 from me, and said in 5 days it would take £39.99, monthly.
The whole process was very deceptive, and I have absolutely no interest in using this companies services.
Obviously I’ve tried to cancel, but haven’t received a confirming email from them about that.
A QR code popped up during the process…
A QR code popped up during the process of changing my password for PayPal, yes it was for gamesbox.pro. and they claim I have now registered with the them, £1 now and monthly subscription. Had to cancel my credit card. How annoying, and illegal is that
I fell for this scam whilst trying to…
I fell for this scam whilst trying to use The Trainline app. Trainline need to fix this as it will kill their reputation. Luckily my bank declined the £1 payment even through I approved it. Of course the scammers now have credit card details and might try again. Hopefully the fact that their attempt to obtain funds wa declined means they won't succeed in the future. Very poor that they sucker people in a reputable app.
